Driver records CHP officer punching woman[W:195]

Re: Driver records CHP officer punching woman

If she's resisting and the situation is already emotionally charged, it may not be justified, but it would be understandable. However, to say there's no way it could be justified, is quite naïve, IMO.

Well, you saying this is not surprising at all.

Re: Driver records CHP officer punching woman

Right here...

And, I mean, there's only 24 posts in this thread, so just wait. I think we both know that.
Oh ****...:lamo.

I confess I never even looked at those links...
I kinda just assumed this was another sadly run-of-the-mill "officer beats person unreasonably" situation.

Of course since the officer was white and the woman black, assumptions as to racism are being made.

I never said "no way", but I've got a pretty active imagination and I cannot think of any scenario. Face punching is a pretty specific act, so even if the situation is emotionally charged, even "understandable" is pushing it, IMO. Maybe some other aggressive scenario, but face punching? No.

That door swings both ways. But, since neither you, nor I were there and didn't see the entire exchange, neither of know for sure what is, or isn't justified. Do we?

Of course! Had it been a white gal getting her ass whipped by a black officer, this thread wouldn't exists, except maybe to says she's the racist and deserved what she got.

You know the deal as much as I do bro. ;)

We don't know enough to say one way, or the other.

There is no excuse for this police brutality. I hope she ends up a millionaire.

Re: Driver records CHP officer punching woman

The police are out of control. They are following their role model in the White House.

Dear god, is there ANYTHING you won't attempt to pin on Obama?

Re: Driver records CHP officer punching woman

That has nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter what color the lady was, she was beaten by this cop and he should be held accountable.

Uh...yeah!...Right! :lamo

Sometimes there's an excuse for harsh treatment of a subject.

I don't believe he can walk on water. Just sayin'.

I don't either. But there's a big difference between that and saying that police are getting more violent because they're playing follow-the-leader. It's a ludicrous assertion.

Actually I wasn't saying that - rather that since two different races (especially white and black) were involved, there was sure to be racism accusations.

Problems in a bureaucracy start at the top.

She's right. Remember that video a few months ago showing President beating the **** out of Ms. Obama right there in the Oval Office...:lamo

There is no national police bureaucracy.

So far as I know, at least.

Of all the crazy **** you have posted, and man that is a boat load. This has to be your most ridiculous posting to date.

I think it's cute you are all ignoring the racism systemic in the US police institution.

It's real, it's documented, it's a fact.

Am I saying that this guy was racist as a fact? No.

Am I saying like most of his "comrades" he was probably racist? Yes.

Am I saying that this is only bad because it was a white cop on a black Woman? No.

What?

You think the entire group of US police institutions, including State, Local, and Sheriffs, are institutionally racist?

Holy ****.

I have seen nothing that would lead me agree with that. Where in the hell do you get that from?

He probably was a cop, has some kind of relationship with a cop or has just never run into them or had friends that have had to deal with the ugly side of the institution. That or he's delusional, but... benefit of the doubt?

I know you weren't saying that. I was saying that; using hyperbole to further illustrate your point.

Re: Driver records CHP officer punching woman

Ever heard of US marshals?

U.S. Marshals Home Page
Is there some disconnect here? How does "us marshals" translate into "national police bureaucracy"?

The first is a federal organization of law enforcement officers.

The second is centralized control for all law enforcement in the US.

Just look it up. I've already posted a very few links on the subject, but you can easily find out for yourself whether I'm telling the truth or not.

And generally Sheriffs are more prevalent in larger county areas which tend to be south and are more prone to racism.*edit

In my time in New Jersey I saw very, very few Sheriffs except in the southern, more rural area. I've seen quite a few more in my short time inside of central Virginia.

Though I do want to move to Louisiana for their Stand Your Ground and Castle Laws o/ not to mention open containers are legal
