A man who was punched in the head over the weekend while refereeing an adult-league soccer match in suburban Detroit died Tuesday, authorities and a longtime friend of the referee said

Why would anyone think that they could do something like this and get away with it?

The perp deserves a fair trial, but I predict a 2nd degree murder conviction is staring him in the face.

There will be no shortage of witnesses, it happened at a soccer match.
 
I live in the area and thought I recognized the poor refs name from basketball years ago. This idiot who did it needs to be buried under the courthouse.

Nah it's disgusting how some people can be with these things, Hope he goes away for a long time.
 
There was a similar case a couple of yrs ago...a teen did the same thing to a coach and I think it was soccer too. Guy died. I forget the end results for the teen but he was charged and I believe convicted...not sure the exact charge.
 
Soccer, Futbol, is such a dangerous game, it should be banned world wide.
