Obama to take executive action on immigration

Implement Sen. Rubio's bi-partisan Immigration law from last year as an executive order.
Let Boehner sue and we'll see how America votes in November .

When Congress passes laws, yes. The partisan gridlock in the Capitol is strangling us as a nation. I halfway hope that the GOP does win control of the Senate in November because it's probably our only hope of actually getting something passed. It may get vetoed, but that is part of the process.

Forget the GOP they're just as bad as the progressives.

The GOP is just as good as the progressive establishment.

Ya know, I listened to Obama say he was going to take his latest Executive Action because the Tea Party wouldn't let Boehner vote on the wonderful Senate Immigration Bill.
And what he said he was going to do was send personnel to manage the border.
So I wondered why he needs another bill to make him enforce the border when we already have laws that require him to do that very thing.
Then I realized he was playing with words again.
He didn't mean he was taking E.A. to enforce the border, he meant he was going to send more people to process all those kids.
Just like he had planned from the beginning of the year.

Say what you will, he's a scumbag all right, but he's the most proficiently lying scumbag President we've ever had.

I think he also is going to mandate state foster care systems to put all those children ahead of our own who need foster care. Whatever he does, it will NOT be in the interest of the American people.

When did he gain the power to legislate? We're not supposed to have a king.

Exactly. The next two years are going to be fun!

It seems that one man's dictator is another man's effective leader.

For example, the folks who are whining, "Dictator! Dictator!," have no real big problem with the GOP dominated congress that dictates a stagnant, filibustering, stonewalling agenda that dictates that the sitting president is unable to carry out any and all measures he was voted into office to do and carry out the majority will of America, who voted him into office, twice.

It's kinda weak if you ask me but whatever. Myself, I'm glad to see Obama growing a nutsack and telling these obstructionists to take a hike. It's long overdue.

Just my two-cents though.

Obstructionists? WTF? They voted in Obamacare without even reading it. That doesn't sound obstructionist to me.

I understand and to a certain extent agree. But in my opinion his problems with congress, with the house started during his first two years. The passage of the ACA to be precise. Remember at that time when it was passed. Well here you go:

Below are the polls thanks to RCP of public opinion on the ACA when the Senate passed it in November of 2009

CNN/Opinion Research 12/2-12/3 36% for 61% Against/Oppose +25
Rasmussen Reports 11/29 - 11/29 41% for 53% Against/Oppose +12
Gallup 11/20-11/22 44% for 49% Against/Oppose +5
Ipsos/McClatchy 11/19 - 11/22 34% for 46% Against/Oppose +12
Rasmussen Reports 11/21 - 11/22 38% for 56% Against/Oppose +18
FOX News 11/17 - 11/18 35% for 51% Against/Oppose +16
PPP (D) 11/13 - 11/15 40% for 52% Against/Oppose +12

Below are the polls thanks to RCP of public opinion on the ACA when the House passed it in March of 2010

Bloomberg 3/19 - 3/22 38% for 50% Against/Oppose +12
CNN/Opinion Research 3/19 - 3/21 39% for 59% Against/Oppose +20
CBS News 3/18 - 3/21 37% for 48% Against/Oppose +11
Rasmussen Reports 3/19 - 3/20 41% for 54% Against/Oppose +13
Quinnipiac 3/16 - 3/21 36% for 54% Against/Oppose +18
Democracy Corps (D) 3/15 - 3/18 40% for 52% Against/Oppose +12
FOX News 3/16 - 3/17 35% 55% Against/Oppose +20

Because of this, the ACA and most voters came to the conclusion their Representatives and Senators didn't care what they thought, what they wanted and basically told the people who elected them to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. As a result 2010 happened. 63 house seats and 6 senate seat changed hands.

I firmly believe that without the ACA that the Democrats would have very easily retained control of the House. All this other stuff, the agenda with the exception of the ACA would have been fairly easy for the president and a Democratic Congress to pass and sign into law. The way the ACA was forced through congress back in 2009/10 drew the battle lines we see today. It set forth the hyper-partisan atmosphere that exists.

Now I may be all wet on this, but this is how I see it. There is much more, but if one thing, one event, one happening set the tone we see today, it has to be the ACA.

Of course you're glad to see a dictator -- progressives have been waiting their whole lives for the next Stalin.

Regardless of the issue - is the action right or wrong??????

Yeah, he is only circumventing democracy BTW........

Executive orders don't apply to everyone????? that sounds like affirmative action....
Executive orders only apply to federal agencies, employees.

Using your logic (which I don't agree with) progressives are even more fascist then I thought.
Hmmm so executive orders are inherently illegal and "fascist"? Well looks like every single POTUS except 1 was a fascist by your definition.

Well then, lest I be incorrect twice let me get a better understanding. The GOP congress has worked very closely with the president trying to assist him in every way possible to bring the agenda, that was voted for by majority America, twice, to be realized. There were no filibusters. There were no Dr. Suess readings. No government shut downs and the GOP is on record as working hand and hand with the democrats by voting for the things that America wanted Obama to accomplish. They were behind Obamacare all the way.

Is that better?

Given that our immigration laws are statutory in nature, I don't know how in the hell he thinks he is going to do that. I guess this will be another set of laws he and Holder will be telling us to ignore.
"In his statement, Obama announced he was ordering a shift in security resources to border regions, and he promised the additional action he can take "without Congress but within his existing authorities to fix as much of our broken immigration system as we can.""

It's already defined in the constitution. he obviously doesn't know what that is.

this is exactly why all these kids and their families are flocking to the US.
He says not to bring them that they won't be accepted lol yet goes and does this.

He knows; he just don't give a ****.

What have they stopped him from doing? They haven't taken him on over his role in Benghazi, and they should. They haven't taken him on over telling states to ignore DEA laws, and they should. In fact Congress has done NOTHING about Obama's 64 impeachable offenses listed in the link below.. So I'd say that your statement is entirely correct.

The establishment GOP have been acting like clowns for a while, so yeah, once the voting base gets fed up they will start voting libertarian/tea party..

It doesn't matter because the progressives who vote progressive will never change so it is a waste of time.

Sounds like some people in this thread need to re-read what an executive order is.

ThisNation.com--What is an Executive Order?

Executive Orders (EOs) are legally binding orders given by the President, acting as the head of the Executive Branch, to Federal Administrative Agencies. Executive Orders are generally used to direct federal agencies and officials in their execution of congressionally established laws or policies. However, in many instances they have been used to guide agencies in directions contrary to congressional intent.

Not all EOs are created equal. Proclamations, for example, are a special type of Executive Order that are generally ceremonial or symbolic, such as when the President declares National Take Your Child To Work Day. Another subset of Executive Orders are those concerned with national security or defense issues. These have generally been known as National Security Directives. Under the Clinton Administration, they have been termed "Presidential Decision Directives."

Executive Orders do not require Congressional approval to take effect but they have the same legal weight as laws passed by Congress. The President's source of authority to issue Executive Orders can be found in the Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution which grants to the President the "executive Power." Section 3 of Article II further directs the President to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." To implement or execute the laws of the land, Presidents give direction and guidance to Executive Branch agencies and departments, often in the form of Executive Orders.

What's your comment about the Obama administration telling America that our borders were secured not to long ago ?

Just another lie from the Obama White House ?

Maybe we need to put Obama and his entire administration under oath any time they open their forked tongue mouths. I'm sure articles of impeachment would have to be drawn up in less than a week.

I think Boehner made it clear and talked for the majority of Americans, Obama is a ****ing liar and can't be trusted to enforce any new immigration reform act.

Sending interior resources to the border, a border Obama already declared secured. :lamo

If you'll recall, the people overwhelmingly voted against the Liberal agenda in 2010. Elections have consequences...
