U.S. Captures Benghazi Suspect in Secret Raid.....

It was actually regime change and bringing democracy to the ME...but that's neither here nor there since Barry cut and ran.
I'll tell you like I told MMC. Bush said we would be out of Iraq by 2011 unless the Iraqi people wanted us to stay.

Who cares? I live in the now.

If you only live in the now why are you bitching so much about Benghazi, this happen in the past. Face it, all you care about is another opportunity to complain about Obama. It wouldn't matter if the attack happened in the Dark Ages, if you could blame it on Obama, you would no doubt do it with glee.

Yeah, the same time I heard that GWB released 500, with 1 being involved with the attack on Benghazi. ;)

Wait a minute. Wasn't it Bush that said we will be out of Iraq by 2011 unless the Iraqi people wanted us to stay? ;)

Yeah, Bush had to give some back to Countries that wanted their own hands on their people.

No....I never recalled him giving any ending date, or a timetable. Besides he also mentioned the War on Terror which could rise up anywhere. That it would be war like we never fought before. That people will get tired and weary of war and fighting such an enemy.

That it would have to be a war that was fought.....that we cannot run away from it nor hide from it. We must confront it at all times.

If you have something good to say about Barry Obama you can easily counter any of these negative perceptions.

Isn't it just horrible ???

Politicizing the deaths of four Americans.

How DARE anyone sink to such a disgusting and disgraceful level !!

Lol !

Their deaths were POLITICIZED the instant Hillary Clinton released a press statement blaming the attack on the video.

That was done the night of the attack.

It was done BEFORE the attack was even finished.

And it was complete BS because a day later the State Department was in communication with the Libyan Government telling them it was Ansar al Sharia who was responsible.

Get it ? A day after the attack and three days before Susan Rice was sent out on National television to BS the American people OUR STATE DEPARTMENT was telling the Libyan Government who attacked our Embassy.

And it wasn't a bunch of protesters.

Obama and Hillary decided that this attack AND the deaths of four Americans was too much of a political nuisance.

They put their political welfare over the truth and not only did they lie to the American people but they lied to the Family members and they've never stopped.

Hillary stood in front of those coffins and kept perpetuating the You tube video narrative so don't preach to me about Politicizing the deaths of four Americans.

Its a bit hypocritical of you to say the least.

Obama waited to capture the guy because he knew he would need a distraction one day.

There are times when we need to be reminded of what Bush actually said regarding the war on terror. Text of George Bush's speech | World news | theguardian.com

The U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (official name: Agreement Between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq On the Withdrawal of United States Forces from Iraq and the Organization of Their Activities during Their Temporary Presence in Iraq) was a status of forces agreement (SOFA) between Iraq and the United States, signed by President George W. Bush in 2008. It established that U.S. combat forces would withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011.

Yeah, that stopped United Stated Forces and to pull out combat Forces, and how did that stop any Diplomatic work with the State Dept and the Largest Embassy in the World......from ending?

Oh and now hows things looking for not finishing up what needed to be?

Obama waited to capture the guy because he knew he would need a distraction one day.

Hell yes !

He's STILL politicizing Benghazi.

The guy was hiding in clear sight, giving interviews.

U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement

Why not read the entire link? It says further down that "On November 27, 2008, the Iraqi Parliament ratified a Status of Forces Agreement with the United States, establishing that U.S. combat forces will withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011, but allowing for further negotiation if the Iraqi Prime Minister believes Iraq is not stable enough".

You can also read further down that other options were available and that American forces could stay to be sure that Iraq remained stable. All BHO had to do was install sufficient troops to maintain order until an Iraqi government was firmly established. This he did not do and now countless lives will be lost and the situation in the entire region has worsened. This happened through cowardice, stupidity or design.

Here was a bit more Fenton. :2wave:

The Associated Press reported in May that American officials had identified five men who might be responsible for the Sept. 11, 2012, attack in Benghazi that occurred just weeks before President Barack Obama's re-election. The suspects were not named publicly, but the FBI released photos of three of the five suspects, asking the public to provide more information on the men pictured. The images were captured by security cameras at the U.S. diplomatic post during the attack, but it took weeks for the FBI to see and study them. The FBI and other U.S. intelligence agencies identified the men through contacts in Libya and by monitoring their communications. They are thought to be members of Ansar al-Shariah, the Libyan militia group whose fighters were seen near the U.S. diplomatic facility prior to the violence.

Waiting to prosecute the suspects instead of grabbing them now could add to the political burden the Benghazi case already has placed on Obama and Democrats who want to succeed him in 2016. Since Obama's re-election, Republicans in Congress have condemned the administration's handling of the matter, criticizing the level of embassy security and questioning the talking points provided to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice for her public explanation of the attack. Conservatives have suggested that the White House tried to play down the incident to minimize its effect on the president's campaign.

In an interview with the Times in October, Khattala said he had arrived at the American compound in Benghazi as gunfire broke out but that he had played no role in the attack. He told the newspaper that he entered the compound at the end of the siege in an attempt to rescue Libyan guards who worked for the Americans and were trapped.

Khattala accused American leaders of using the Benghazi attack to play "with the emotions of the American people" in an effort to "gather votes for their elections," according to the Times.

Mornin' Sméagol. :2wave: After they are done with him in Washington D.C.....just sayin. Do you think we he will be seeing a can of whoop ass opened up on him?

who is expected to be arraigned in Washington — has been apprehended.....snip~

I was actually just thinking wouldn't it be interesting to see him tried in Alabama or Texas. Its possible we could get a more sympathetic jury in a liber North Eastern city but Bubba ain't playin' down south.

there was a warrant for the suspects arrest issued last year by the district court of the district of columbia, and it has been recently unsealed.

We have Captured one of the Terrorist Ring-leaders in the Benghazi attack that killed Stevens. This is the guy who is one of the leaders of the Ansar Al Sharia groups in Libya. He was at the hotel bragging a while back he wasn't going anywhere. Then took off once he found out we knew him and his group that was working Security Set up the roadblocks on our people. He is enroute to the US or Gitmo now. No others were with him. So he is the only one caught so far. What say ye?

U.S. Special Operations forces captured one of the suspected ringleaders of the terrorist attacks in Benghazi in a secret raid in Libya over the weekend, the first time one of the accused perpetrators of the 2012 assault has been apprehended, according to U.S. officials.

The officials said Ahmed Abu Khattala was captured Sunday near Benghazi by American troops, working alongside the FBI, following months of planning, and was now in U.S. custody “in a secure location outside Libya.” The officials said there were no casualties in the operation, and that all U.S. personnel involved have safely left Libya. The Washington Post learned about the capture Monday but agreed to a request from the White House to delay publication of a story because of security concerns.

Officials, speaking on condition of anonymity about the still-secret operation, would not say where Khattala was being held. They said he was “en route” to the United States, but would not say when he was expected to arrive.....snip~

Funny how the wingnuts have been screaming about how Obama needs to bring these guys to Justice, and now when the ringleader is captured, somehow Obama disappears from the story.

It was actually regime change and bringing democracy to the ME...but that's neither here nor there since Barry cut and ran.

Actually, the withdrawal was drafted during Bush's administration in an action called "Status of Forces Agreement" that Iraqi lawmakers drafted and ratified in 2008 to pull out in 2011. Obama just followed this laid out time line and made the deadline more specific by saying December 31, 2011.

Bring him to justice for what ?

Protesting over a video ?

But it's Obama's fault because...uh, 2008, before he was in office..and uh......

BENGHAZI!!11!!

:)

And McCain says to throw him in Gitmo...the same place he has been calling on to have shut down for years...you can't make this stuff up.

This isn't about defending Obama. I don't think much of him as a president, but I do think he is put into positions by the right where no matter what he does the right wing machine will attack. I also believe this is one of those times.

It seems you didn't read the agreement. It was the decision of Barrack Obama to leave, not George Bush. There were caveats.

And..if he decided NOT to leave the right would be all over him with criticism.

Pretty nice gig when you can have a ready attack planned for whatever happens.

Rather than accusing the 'right wing machine' of picking on Obama (a complaint you don't seem to make for George Bush) why not point out where anyone is being unfair to this incompetent corrupt buffoon of a president?

It would be better for everyone if Barrack Obama, like 'the right', had some contingency plans also. Any plan might do..

DP exists to make a political issue out of anything and no one mentioned political party's. I mentioned it took too freaking long though.

Took too freaking long to kill bin Laden too, but we got him.

Obama is now waiting to capture the suspects for political expediency--hopefully you don't buy that manure.
Or did Obama try to help Hillary with her book tour--or her Ben--gha--zi interview on FOX?
It's never-ending how low the rightists sink in this country .
