IRS: So… Our Computer Crashed And Erased All Of Lois Lerner’s Emails

3. Their loss stemmed from a failure to install a properly working electronic record keeping system.
4. That system apparently mislabeled the emails, which is why they were "lost".
6. In October 2003, the Administration called technicians from Microsoft to help them find the electronic messages.
I am shocked that the guys working the WH weren't able to perform tasks which are standard practices. There're roughly eleventy kajillion Exchange systems up and running with their back ups in place.
How does that happen? There're plenty of people in the world who can perform those tasks.

Yes, the internet age was what, 60 or 70 years old when Bush took office in 2001?

At least they knew there was a problem, called experts in, and took care of it so it didn't happen again before they "found out about it from media reports" as the "not a smidgen of corruption" Obama Administration so often does.

Oh, and you also get your gold star for option "E":

Huh ?

No, this IS the first administration that got caught using the IRS to target American Citizens solely on the basis of their political views.

This is the first administration to blatantly violate the Constitutional rights of free Americans by using Federal agencies to harrass American Citizens based on their opposition to a President.

This IS the First American administration to resort to banana republic style tactics to win a election.

So there is no comparison between what happened under Bush and whats happening now.

After first ADMITTING that the IRS targeted Conservative Americans for their ideology, Lois Lerner then LIED and blamed it all on nameless, faceless Cincinnati rogues.

Obama pledged to get to the bottom of it and to make those who were involved accountable.

Then, 24 Consecutive 5th amendment pleas from the Women who first admitted the targeting as people like YOU repeatedly mischaracterized the House oversight committees investigations as a " Witch hunt ".

And Obama's reclassification of the IRS scandal as " made up".

And finally, deleted E-mails.

Now, did that happen under Bush ? No, not even close.

No one who's hasn't sold out every semblance of integrity believes for a second that these E-mails were " accidentally " deleted.

So again, Obama has been building a legacy of lies, corruption, incompetence, lawlessnes and just unprecedented dishonesty.

Plus a economy thats after 6 years contracting as millions of Americans try to deal with chronic joblessness as poverty rates clim to 1 in 5 Americans.

Add Obama's foreign policy failures, Benghazzi, trading 5 top level terrorist for a deserter, Fast and Furious, ObamaCare's impact on middle class America, his flooding of border States with illegals from Central and South America and Mexico so they can compete with jobless Americans for what little jobs are available and you have the worst President in our Nation's history.

And he's taking the Democrat party with him.

yes, it happened during the dicknbush regime
i shared the link with you
that white house failed to provide the emails which were sought during an investigation
maybe you can show us some posts from that period, where you slammed the president for his failure to provide emails essential to the investigation. doing so would eliminate the possibility of your being found to act hypocritically on this issue

1. In December 2009, it was announced that the e-mails were found.
2. They were actually recovered while Bush was still in office, but nobody ran the story.
3. Their loss stemmed from a failure to install a properly working electronic record keeping system.
4. That system apparently mislabeled the emails, which is why they were "lost".
5. The Administration was aware of the problem in 2003, before they were ever requested by anyone and more than 2 years before it was made public.
6. In October 2003, the Administration called technicians from Microsoft to help them find the electronic messages.

Millions of missing Bush admin. e-mails found - politics | NBC News

Shall I post those debate tactics again?

Oh, and you seem to have some obscession with genitalia so you might want to consider talking to someone about that.

So as long as you can point to 'Bush did it too' then that makes it all ok.

I wouldn't accept that from a 5 year old, much less a supposedly grown man.

Yup... E-3 is a progressive favorite.

Youre right. Two wrongs DO make a right!

Don't kill your straw man too hard while ignoring the first two sentences of my post.

I don't believe they are lost. They should be able to dig them back up and I hope they do.

Im not ignoring it. Im just addressing the usual pattern any time criticism of this govt comes up: change the subject. Instead of dealing with a problem, you cause it to be ignored. And then it happens again.

I don't believe they are lost. They should be able to dig them back up and I hope they do.

They have had a year and a half, what efforts have they put forth to retrieve them?

Emails aren't saved on the local PC, they are saved on external servers. Those servers have redundancy as well so if one of those crashes, another has the same exact info.

If they cannot find the missing emails, someone had to have manually deleted them.

This is probably why it took two years to deem the files lost. They had to scour around for every trace of evidence and manually delete it from mail servers and their backups. Then they feed this bs to the public like we are all three years old and have no clue about technology.

Shouldn't be problem. Just call the NSA.

The IRs can go back 50 years and find a two dollar bill you found on the street and make you bay 10,000 dollars on back taxes but LOST these emails. Greater than the fact of this cover up is the insane reason they came up with. Is this honestly the best excuse you people have? You all sat in a conference room to decide what to sat and came up with "we lost them"?! This reminds me of an old Steve Martin routine where he says the best way to get out of a serious jam is to simply say, "I forgot"!

There is no shortage of political elites believing that the American people are stupid. I guess we shall see who buys this tripe.

This response from the IRS perfectly summarizes today's liberals to a T.

Lest not focus too much on them though. Thats what they want, to talk about partisanship instead of dealing with the actual problem, incompetence and deception by govt.

You know, it's like there were two idiots in the IRS sitting in and office and came up with the idea of a hard drive crash. Yeah, that'll do it!
Obviously, they didn't even bother to consult with an IT person, or even someone with a little knowledge of data back up, to see if the excuse was even plausable. If they had, they would have known how crazy of an idea it was before they put this out there.
The more I think about it, the worse, this gets, I mean in terms of the chance that this is not a lie/cover up by the IRS.

I still think that we'd be well served to get a report from a tech involved rather than the journalist's impression of a third-hand report (at least third hand).

If you think that the regular "telephone game" is bad try adding a journalist and an editor into the line.

Because, honestly the report doesn't pass the smell test.

I suspect that our info is faulty.

You know what's funny? That this lame "the dog ate my homework" type excuse is probably going to stick and be defended to the hilt. That's have ****ed up our country has become.

This is exactly the same scenario as the missing "20 minutes of Watergate tapes" around 1973...but this will never make it to an investigation or a presidential resignation.

And this has what to do with the truth or non truth of this particular incident?

Just showing that this is indeed not the 1st time emails "disappear" into thin air, and that government corruption was fine and dandy in 2007.

In other words it's still the same team sport mentality that enables the perpetrators and pisses on the masses?

Yup. The Bush Administrations certainly used this excuse, too, re. the dismissal of the 8 US Attorneys.

Bush White House email controversy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Perhaps more illegal because they used non-governmental email servers.... but also more plausible because of the same reason. Then again, server technology has been progressing... and there's little to no chance non-goverment servers were used here. So this lie will (I hope) be uncovered before long.
