This coming from and unconvicted traitor who abandoned his shipmates in Vietnam.

Secretary of State John Kerry is defending President Barack Obama's prisoner swap, saying it would be “offensive and incomprehensible” to consciously leave behind an U.S. soldier

If Romney was President, he would be getting props from GOPs for the Nobel Peace Prize for Bergdahl's release.
I'm reminded of today's meeting between the Pope, Israel and the Palestinians.
Seems Israel's been okay trading over 1,000 Palestinians in the past, and the GOP got lots of love from Netanyahu in the 2012 election .

These shipmates?

"In 1969, I was Sen. Kerry's gun mate atop of the Swift boat in Vietnam. And I just wanted to let everyone know that, contrary to all the rumors that you might hear from the other side, Sen. Kerry's blood is red, not blue. I know, I've seen it.

"If it weren't for Sen. John Kerry, on the 28th of February 1969, the day he won the Silver Star . . . you and I would not be having this conversation. My name would be on a long, black wall in Washington, D.C. I saw this man save my life."

- Fred Short

"I can still see him now, standing in the doorway of the pilothouse, firing his M-16, shouting orders through the smoke and chaos.. Even wounded, or confronting sights no man should ever have to see, he never lost his cool.

I had to sit on my hands [after a firefight], I was shaking so hard . . . He went to every man on that boat and put his arm around them and asked them how they're doing. I've never had an officer do that before or since. That's the mettle of the man, John Kerry."

- David Alston

"What I saw back then [in Vietnam] was a guy with genuine caring and leadership ability who was aggressive when he had to be. What I see now is a guy who's not afraid to tackle tough issues. And he knows what the consequences are of putting people's kids in harm's way."

Seems like Kerry is without words.

He can't say that Bergdahl "served with honor and distinction" because Obama's National Security Advisor, Susan Rice already used that one and was caught again lying for Obama. Dejavue of Benghazi.

And Kerry couldn't accuse soldiers in Bergdahl's platoon of personally raping women, cutting off ears, cutting off heads, cutting off limbs, blowing up bodies, randomly shooting at civilians, razing villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan because he already tried that one by accusing 2.5 million American soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen of those atrocities while we were still on the battlefield.

How anyone could defend "Traitor" Kerry at this time is unbelieveable...He and "Hanoi" Jane Fonda should be tried for treason..

We aren't Israel and I haven't heard of any Israeli soldiers bugging out and deserting in combat.

Anyone who would defend him? THOSE ARE HIS SHIPMATES! The ones you claimed he abandoned! So, are his shipmates traitors too?

I don't suppose you very conservative anti-Obama posters give a damn that Bergdahl was tortured and caged.
That's exactly what will happen to the GOP politically in 2014 when they are outed for their treachory.

When the next "select" committee is chosen, try working on Real Life problems, like the VA .

No amount of quantity/quality of Israeli deflection has worked yet, especially this.
This is like we respect the hell out of Israel until you compare POW exchanges.

What has really surprised me all along is that none of your "types" has brought up Carter's amnesty .

right after the GOP House is sentenced for what it has intentionally done to obstruct since feb. 2011--let's have a downgrade--

Kerry has it wrong. This soldier left his fellow Americans behind and it is desertion which is an offense..

John Kerry has already confessed to war crimes.
There are all kinds of atrocities, and I would have to say that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of other soldiers have committed in that I took part in shootings in free fire zones. I conducted harassment and interdiction fire. I used 50-caliber machine guns, which we were granted and ordered to use, which were our only weapon against people. I took part in search and destroy missions, in the burning of villages. All of this is contrary to the laws of warfare, all of this is contrary to the Geneva Conventions and all of this is ordered as a matter of written established policy by the government of the United States from the top down. And I believe that the men who designed these, the men who designed the free fire zone, the men who ordered us, the men who signed off the air raid strike areas, I think these men, by the letter of the law, the same letter of the law that tried Lieutenant [William] Calley, are war criminals.

More quotes from "Honest John" Kerry.

The GOP had an alternative play book to use against Obama if had left Bergdahl behind .

What has really surprised me all along is that none of your "types" has brought up Carter's amnesty .

Why would we bring that up ? It had no affect on me or 99% of those I knew or know.

But it's funny you brought that up. There's scuttlebutt on why Secretary of the Navy, John Lehman's signature is on Kerry's Honorable Discharge Certificate when Lehman was Sec. of the Navy during the Reagan administration.

Kerry refused to release his SRB (Service Record Book) and Kerry's DD-214 only covers the end of Kerry's required active duty service and only Kerry's SRB would show what kind of discharge he received after his reserve service.

Some speculate since Kerry was still an officer in the Navy Reserves when he was with the VVAW and when he met with the enemy in Paris a violation of military regulation that Kerry may have been discharged with a general discharge under less than honorable conditions and applied for a upgrade under Carters amnesty.

We will never know unless Kerry's SRB are released.

No ****, those are some of Kerry's shipmates that he abandoned after four long months in-country.

I wonder what all of the other officers and men in Kerry's swift-boat squadron had to say ?

Well we can go here and find out. -> WinterSoldier.com - <p>Swift Boat Veterans

It's time for fun fact time:

1. The majority of the men who actually served with him on the Swift Boats had nothing but good things to say about him: snopes.com: John Kerry's Service Record
2. The SBVs have been proven to be lying on many occasions: Swift Boat Accounts Incomplete (washingtonpost.com)

On the core issue of whether Kerry was wounded under enemy fire, thereby qualifying for a third Purple Heart, the Navy records clearly favor Kerry. Several documents, including the after-action report and the Bronze Star citation for a Swift boat skipper who has accused Kerry of lying, refer to "all units" coming under "automatic and small-weapons fire."

3. The SBVs have admitted that their dislike of Kerry isn't so much based on his actions but on the success he had after the war:

Many Swift boat veterans opposed to Kerry acknowledge that their disgust with him was fueled by his involvement in the antiwar movement. When they returned from Vietnam, they say, they were dogged by accusations of atrocities. While Kerry went on to make a prominent political career, they got jobs as teachers, accountants, surveyors and oil field workers. When he ran for president, partly on the strength of his war record, their resentment exploded.

4. The military itself stood behind Kerry and conducted 2 investigations which concluded in the same fashion:

My Way

Our examination found that existing documentation regarding the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals indicates the awards approval process was properly followed. In particular, the senior officers who awarded the medals were properly delegated authority to do so. In addition, we found that they correctly followed the procedures in place at the time for approving these awards. Conducting any additional review regarding events that took place over 30 years ago would not be productive. The passage of time would make reconstruction of the facts and circumstances unreliable, and would not allow the information gathered to be considered in the context of the time in which the events took place. Our review also considered the fact that Senator Kerry's post-active duty activities were public and that military and civilian officials were aware of his actions at the time. For these reasons, I have determined that Senator Kerry's awards were properly approved and will take no further action in this matter.

Even Republicans came to the defense of Kerry:

John Warner said:
"We did extraordinary, careful checking on that type of medal, a very high one, when it goes through the secretary. I'd stand by the process that awarded that medal, and I think we best acknowledge that his heroism did gain that recognition."

So yeah, in short, the Swift Boat Veterans are full of ****. - It's their words against the facts gathered by independent investigations as well as the military's.

It was okay for America to bring home Bergdahl, just not Kerry and Obama.
Why would we bring that up ?
I actually know the DD-214--fun stuff to go over when your loved one passes away.
I'm proud of him--he set Mom up good in the assisted living--you only have to be 65-YOA apache.

They make all your meals, make you eat in their dining room, and see you for meds 3 times a day.
You have your own apartment, cable--just like normal--activities--we have a new gal admin whose husband is a Vet.

As I talk to you, I'm thinking of Flag Day on Saturday with Mom at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
They have the computer kiosk of course and are adding so many Veterans .

Read the criteria for being awarded the Purple Heart during the Vietnam War.

Lacerations, contusions, bumps on the noggin because you lost your balance and self inflicted wounds don't meet the criteria for the Purple Heart. Check it out.

During the Vietnam War, when an officer received the Bronze Star it was called by the enlisted as the Officers Good Conduct Medal.

It's usually after one's husband or father passes away and you finally see his DD-214 or NAVMC 78 -FD for WW ll and Korean war vets who served in the Navy or Marines you see what he never mentioned and kept from family members.

Do you have your fathers entire SRB ? If not you or your mother can request a copy of it. Since your father was a career airmen it's probably pretty thick.

I would like to hear it unless you had to sign a letter of confidentiality.
This is the NIMBY/Linc prognosis that has won me the Senate crown with brother Pero for the last two cycles.

Not only is it offensive to leave one of OURS behind, it is offensive to forget about any of ours we knew as friends, family and brothers in arms.

There's just a special feeling in me due to my exposure to being an Air Force brat through 7th grade,
the son of a lifer who finished in civil service at JAAP/APSA,
having one close Vietnam friend and many others through him,
and marrying an Iowa farm girl whose Dad was a Tank Destroyer in WW2.
Her Mom was secretary of their military reunion every other year.

But it was the Vietnam dude who turned me on to the idea of going West.
He went on a Rocky Mountain trip from Colorado up to Lake Louise and Banff in Alberta after his tour.
I worked with him the summer of 1971 after graduating high school .

Still can't come to terms with the fact that the military (that left wing institution they are) saw nothing wrong with Kerry's record nor did it find inconsistencies with the way their predecessors had given those medals? Here, I'll post it again:
