Seven States Running Out of Water

The peak of our warming here was about 2002. Our summers were real nice, but getting wet again.

We don't tan, we rust...

You're talking western Oregon. I just came back from a trip to Eastern Oregon. Now, that's a different world.

Oh yes.

Get on the east side of the mountains, and it seldom ever rains. Nice and hot also. When I lived in The Dalles, I had 122 F in my back yard one year, in the shade. The official temperature is taken at the airport which is in the U-shape of the river, making the reading cooler.

OK, then, my experience wasn't outside of the norm. I drove into the Dalles one summer evening, rented a motel room, cranked up the AC, and went and got into the pool. I'd never been there before, and haven't been back. It's worse than here!

Ever hear of the Owyhee River?
