There's a certain degree of hypocrisy, though, in the intolerance sometimes shown in the treatment by some liberals of women and minorities that don't display "proper" thinking by the same folks who claim a monopoly on compassion and tolerance. And no, hypocrisy is not exclusive to either side by any means. It's why liberals (probably quite fairly) make a point of highlighting a right wing, "family values" spouting conservative caught cheating on his wife or looking for love in a bathroom stall in the men's room.

Does anyone wonder if his being gay had anything to do with this vandalism? It seems if it was someone with an axe grind against gays they would have spray painted at least one Fags go to Hell slogan.

It seems both sides of this coin have a hard dealing with gays and blacks. Can't say anything negative or will be considered prejudice and if one complains of being treated unfairly you will be considered using the gay or black card.

I really don't think this had anything to do with his being gay but then again I know diddly squat as most here.

Holder is certainly pressing for it.. Eric Holder seeks to change laws allowing ex-convicts to vote - WSJ

We can see also that the Democrats are also against voter ID, which certainly helps them with the Hispanic vote.

Exactly. The Dems continue giving them handouts to keep them poor and dependent, while the Republicans want it only for the genuinely needy. There is a very good reason why Obama is called "The Food Stamp President" and they are encouraging more Americans to get on board as well.
