Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office:not random [W:43:128]

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

Are you kidding, the Family Research Council, is venomously against anything gay.

I know they are. But they aren't violent. There's a very big difference in being opposed to something and being violent.

There are people on here who are opposed to gay marriage. They don't go and rip up offices because of it.

And there are other candidates who are gay and running for office. Why would a group based in DC go after the guy in CA? My guy here in NH is a hell of a lot closer, and they aren't attacking him, verbally or otherwise.

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

do they have a history of violent crimes , property crimes, or like behavior?.... i'm curious, i don't really know anything about them beyond them throwing out boycotts here and there.

No they don't. But a guy showed up at their office in 2012 armed and ready to do them harm. He shot a security guard too. He was angy at their anti-gay stance. To their credit, the LGBT groups immediately came out and denounced the actions of said lunatic.

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

What a classy thing to say.

I predict that you won't get your wish.

You might want to remember one thing: "What goes around, comes around."

What an unlcassy, needless, and off topic intrusion in an otherwise good thread.

What, you're aiming for troll of the year award?

I have to ask what this poster ever did to earn a personal, unprovoked and inappropriate comment like that. I wish people would leave their petty jealousies behind and actually ****ing debate the topic once in awhile.

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

Are people seriously going to try and blame this on the Family Research Council? Seriously? That's quite a leap.

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

Here we have an act of violence perpetrated against a Republican, which isn't all that unusual, but in this case it's a little different. Although when asked, the campaign said they won't speculate on a specific motive, I'm sure they have a damned good idea exactly what that motive was... It's hard to miss the 900 pound elephant in the middle of the room. If you somehow missed that elephant, maybe this story from 4 weeks ago will help you to see it:

I smell a CON game. These photo shopped pictures of Demiao as a drag queen- got one to show us? When were they supposed to have been distributed? Which political race did were they supposed to have been distributed?

In his race for CONGRESS I only find the gay community attacking him on his lack of support for critical issues in the gay community, not about being a drag queen.

I'd say the 1,000 pound elephant in the room is the extreme right wing and religious fundamentalists who would act like a few in here claim they will when it comes to Mitch McConnell- vote for the DEM to send a message.

Anyway when San Diego County support for Prop 8, the state constitutional ban on same sex marriage San Diego County was 52 to 47% in favor of the amendment. The unincorporated areas ran higher at 66-30%. Not too far off to ask if the Far Right or religious fanatics did the deed.

I mean if we are looking at elephants and all.... :peace

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

I don't know why liberals would want get caught trashing a gay candidate's election headquarters as it would be the height of hypocrisy. Besides what would be the gain doing it?

Considering how fanatical people can get about their side (and how much they can hate "the other side"), I wouldn't rule out the possibility of liberals/a liberal doing it. Just as it is possible someone/people who are quite firm in anti-gay beliefs could have done it (Note: Not saying a specific group).

Carl DeMaio: Gay Candidate Says He Is Being Attacked By Liberal Groups Because He Is A Republican

Dunno who did it. Crazy-ass liberals and crazy-ass anti-gays are both possibilities. It's not like this hasn't happened in reverse many times against Dems as well.

It is just disgusting that this is the level our public discourse has fallen to. And the OP is participating in it as much as everyone else, as a well known "everything liberals do is evil" poster on this forum.

You're not really concerned about what you should be, Grim -- that acts or words of violence are becoming a common piece of our political process, both at the professional level and the grassroots one, going every which way you can imagine. You're concerned about scoring for your side, perpetuating this animosity and break-down of the system even more. As a whole, we view each other as cartoon villains and not members of the same country. You're as guilty of that as anyone.

We've been building to an unofficial Civil War part 2 for years, and rather than call it what it is when it happens, no matter who they are, and try to reverse it, everyone is more concerned with scoring a point for their team. If that's you, you're part of the problem.

How are we supposed to fix a country where the majority of the populace only wants to break it more?

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

I very much doubt this attack was from liberals, as I said above this could be from Republicans who don't want gays in the Republican party or it has crossed my mind this could be a false flag operation.

Some people will say anything, do anything to protect the brand, no matter what.

It is really refreshing to see so many leftists so sure of the motives of others they have not met and can, without pause transfer blame for something on their enemies never even having met a Republican or a gay.

Oh, well, back when he thought he could get away with it, "dear leader not" tried to blame Obamacare's failings on Romney...but that lie was overshadowed by the other lie..."I never said that."

If Obama can't be trusted, I am damn sure no one is listening to a troll laying blame for a break in he's never seen, against people he will never meet and who likely wouldn't be caught in the same room.

That's just shameful.

DeMaio, Alvarez respond to Ethics Commission's decision to fine local political consultants - 10News.com KGTV ABC10 San Diego

SAN DIEGO - A group of local Democratic political consultants behind dozens of robocalls and a flier that aimed to keep Carl DeMaio from being elected mayor in 2012 has been fined thousands of dollars by the San Diego Ethics Commission for violating city election laws.

10News went to an office building in Fashion Valley to speak with Jesus Cardenas, one of the Democratic consultants fined and also behind the flier, but were told by Neighborhood Market Association staff that they evicted him and his consulting company Innovation Media Group last month.

Cardenas, Juan Boyce and Cynara Velazquez made up the group, "Conservatives For Gay Rights Supporting Carl DeMaio For Mayor 2012," according to the San Diego Ethics Commission.

The Ethics Commission found Cardenas and Velazquez were behind robocalls and a flier that were both aimed at using former mayoral candidate DeMaio's sexuality for political gain during the 2012 race for mayor.

Oh save it.

Campaign offices have been targeted since Ophilius first ran for the Athens summit.

Fact: most such break ins are usually the work of teens simply out to make mischief knowing this game will be played, blame, blame, blame.

It is the way of US politics and the reason nother ever gets done.

Vandalism in the US has to become an political issue.

It doesn't necessarily need to be the FRC, there are plenty of people on the Right who are against gay people. And like I said previously, this could be a false flag operation by the DeMaio campaign.

Given that Democrats have targeted him before, no Republicans have targeted him, and the FRC has no history whatsoever in aggression, we'll have to disagree on this.

This thread isn't about me. Did you want to post on the subject, or just about my posts?

is this another example of a conservative not wanting to have anyone question what they said. When you bring something to the conversation it becomes part of it.

I hope some day you type a post without capitalizing "CON" like it's some sort of insult.

what!.. I don't believe a gay guy would do that.... it doesn't make sense!!... he had nothing to gain!!!

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

My congressional district (NH-1) is held by a mornic Liberal bitch. She's being challenged by 2 Republicans - the guy she defeated in 2012 (I hope everyone who voted for her chokes) and a gay man named Dan Innis, who is the candidate my husband & I are supporting.

I've actually heard Liberal morons here (most of them Massholes who moved here to wreck this once soldily conservative state) criticize him for being Republican, calling him names and implying he was stupid because he left the plantation.

Luckily the LGBT groups have endorsed him and not attacked him.

I heard about what was happening to DeMaio. It seems the California Liberals are even uglier than the NH Liberals.

Actually DeMaio has not been helpful to the LGBT community so why should they endorse him. As for the people attacking Innis, asking him why he is a republican is not a stupid question when the party is so hostile to gay people. But if he has a good answer then he will be fine. He is a better candidate for the GOP but Carol Shea-Porter will win the election.

He is the leading candidate of three Republicans in the primary, I just don't know why the Democrats would do something like this.

Re: Vandals destroy Republican candidate’s campaign office: This was ‘no random act’

I have been watching extremists from both sides accusing the other side of doing it, but the police have no idea who did it. You extremists guys know more than the police? However, I have inside information on this, and I DO know more than the police. I know who did this.

It was Colonel Mustard in the Library with the dimpled chad.

I'll do you one better than that...

First, here's a photo for you.

Second, here's the article and the video of the news report from the ABC affiliate in San Diego:

Should I expect a retraction?

False flag.

False flag.

Colonel Mustard was using an old Soviet Union flag, and attempting to pass it off as an American flag? How dare he.

So I guess I'll try this a little slower this time... the CON game is the use of a past race, a defunct PAC as if it just happened (you do note the OP makes ZERO mention of which race or when the attack occurred???). THIS race has none of the 'attacks' CONs are wailing about. The Gay community has stayed issue focused in their opposition on his lack of gay advocacy.

But typical CON wail, they avoid giving the date/time group or the political race and opponent so they can try to claim THIS go 'round the gay community is 'attacking' a good ol' CON gay guy and how bad LIBs are so they must be the elephant in the room (isn't the elephant a GOP thang???) The whine is two years too late. But what is right on time is the fundies and right wing isn't all Happy, Happy, Happy about a gay guy winning the GOP nomination.

I think the OP use of the elephant in the room is fitting and could easily be a real elephant from the right wingnut side of politics. :peace

Well, since we're all just pulling theories out of our asses, why not just assume it was a bunch of homophobic conservatives irritated that "one of their own" would go gay and run for office, thus embarrassing their brand?
