Mexican cooperation could have spared Marine from ordeal, say border sources

A. The discussion of this issue has nothing to do with what WE in the U.S. would do in a similar scenario on our side of the border....... trying that comparison makes no sense whatsoever.

B. He was familiar with the area, had been to Tijuana several times for "PTSD Treatment" (Who Tha **** goes to Mexico for PTSD treatment when they are in the DoD?)

C. With that said, He has to wait this one out until the justice system there handles the case.

Difference between crime and missed turned.

We can say that for alot of things.

If we always take the suspects word for it, there would be no drunk drivers on the road. There would be no domestic violence. There would be no thieves, burglars, or robberies. There would be no murderers.

Imagine that kind of a world.. "Well he said he didn't do it...."

But in this case, there were poorly marked and confusing signs. I think this has been legitimately established.

Its also been established he was familiar with the area, had been there before, and thus poorly marked and confusing signs don't give excuse to his mistake.

Gun runners don't have also everything they own in their car as well as smuggle registered guns. Think for a second.

I guess we have to ask, is there any reason not to believe him?
The road coming out of the parking lot has one sign saying where to go,
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&...=v0SrExyaNV-a0otEx819Bg&cbp=12,277.18,,0,8.62
and it looks like it is behind a palm tree.
Going straight north, leads to a loop back to the Mexico crossing.
The entrance is on the right side, the turn around on the left side of six lanes,
some of them separated by concrete.
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&...EhHiHhmW1JkOfGszg&cbp=12,134.24,,0,-16.8&z=18
Is it plausible, someone could get on the wrong freeway, and not be able to correct the action
before the crossing, when the u-turn is separated by a barrier for almost the entire distance
from the entrance ramp to the crossing?

Is that possible when this was the seventh time he was on that road? You would think he would know how the entrance to Mexico was after 6 times being there.

It is possible, his normal route was to take the U-turn at the border,
We just don't know. There appears to be construction in the area during the
street view time, things change.

Why is that? Do you expect less from Mexicans than you do from Americans?

As far as their laws go, everyone with experience expects less from their justice system, and rightly so. Rather than accepting it there should be massive boycotts until these laws change. That would eventually help the Mexican people also.

Can you show that he drove on his visits?

Must be wonderful to be perfect.

Apologies to longview. I quoted the wrong post..response is for Mason.

Sure.

Now take that same person who has admittedly crossing into Tijuana 6 previous times via that route and have them tell you they got lost.

Yes. Lets have massive boycotts on everyone in the world until everyone makes their laws like ours and does what we do because we are teh greeeattest ting eva!!!!

This time he crossed by foot to eat with friends, how do you know the other times he drove?
I for one, would not take my car to Mexico, if I could walk.
The area looks to be under construction also, things do change.
Do you think he was taking his guns to Mexico to sell?

No. And he will ultimately be released.

A couple of months isn't out of the ordinary for someone to be held in pre-trial confinement. It happens quite alot even in this country.

That's an interesting idea. What makes you think you are the greatest ever?

Its sarcasm.

Just because another country doesn't operate like we do, or like we would like them to, you suggest we boycott any and all who aren't like us? You suggested it...

No, you inferred it. If I wanted to say we boycott all countries I would say so.

I was being sarcastic, though less obviously apparently.

Really, how many Mexican citizens that mistakenly enter the US, and thrown in prison....? I'll wait...

Let's trade 20 million illegals for our guy.

Or better yet, just threaten to send the illegals back to Mexico. He'd be released immediately.

That is an awesome Idea. Lets allocate millions upon millions of dollars to deport millions of illegal aliens for one person in a Mexican jail.

Better yet. Lets do the deporting and leave him there.

Exactly! Great to have you on board, it's a win-win for everybody!

You entirely missed the point of my post. It was not about trying to tie this into an immigration issue... because this isn't about immigration.

It was about the fact that he is being held in pre-trial confinement and it is blowing peoples minds because they don't understand WTF pre-trial confinement is.

As for mistakenly.... who are you to say for certain he did in fact "mistakenly" enter Mexico? And, for that matter, why are you ignoring the fact he brought weapons across the border when he was not allowed to do that.

The weapons are what got him in trouble... not just crossing the border... whether purposefully or "mistakenly".

Sounds like a ****ing ignorant idea if you ask me.
