This is great news. It highlights the importance that if we must innovate we cannot do it in The South. Or at least not in Texas, a state where the Republican Party made opposition to critical thinking part of their party platform. And it shows that in Texas the opposition to innovative intellectual pursuits will never be allowed to thrive.
Recently, a shell entity called Site Update Solutions (SUS) – a subsidiary of notorious patent troll, Acacia Research Corporation – decided to sue Newegg along with 36 other companies. SUS claimed that we were infringing on their patented technology related to the registration of websites on search engines. Of course, this was a bogus claim and many of the defendants banded together in order to pool resources against this troll.
This is great news. It highlights the importance that if we must innovate we cannot do it in The South. Frivolous lawsuit enthusiasts know that they have a home in Texas. The first step we can take to putting a stop to these lawsuits is to cordon off sections of Texas. Take these useless parasitic portions of America turn it into it's own independent nation. Texas, or at least parts of it, is a millstone around the neck of America.With a strong legal team, the defense managed to move the trial out of the Eastern District of Texas, a jurisdiction that is known for favoring plaintiffs in patent suits.
