No, you didn't. You simply repeated the circumstances, then said it was "feckless." You didn't say what about it made it so. It's "feckless" to have some staffer make a five-minute call to Youtube to suggest that hey, maybe they're causing an international incident and it would be nice if they took the damn video down?

The problem is that they kept claiming it was the result of a video when all the evidence said otherwise. The State Department and the Commander in Chief should know better than to guess at what's going on anyway.

They also kept qualifying the statement by adding "according to the best information we have now". We now know that was a reference to the CIA who wanted that story to be told simply to cover themselves for not catching the terrorists planned attack, or whatever. That is what you guys find so sinister? The CIA covering itself for screwing up? You'd think you would have been used to it after GW. Are you sure it isn't that Romney lost the election? He did so deal with it.

But he acknowledged overruling the wishes of his boss at the time, CIA Director David H. Petraeus, by excising from the talking points information that the CIA had warned about possible al Qaeda terrorist attacks in Libya before the Benghazi tragedy unfolded on Sept. 11, 2012, killing ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

“I saw the language as self-serving and defensive on the agency’s part,” Mr. Morell replied to skeptical lawmakers. “Here was a tragic event, and we were saying, ‘We told you so.’ This was wrong, in my view, and would have been seen as an attempt to make the CIA look good and shift any possible blame for failing to see the risk of an attack from the agency to the State Department.”

He also said references to al Qaeda were removed from the talking points because of concern at the CIA that leaving them in the public narrative could have jeopardized classified sources.

“The only way we knew that anybody who was involved in that attack that night was associated with al Qaeda was from classified sources,” he said. “To leave it in, the [CIA] director would have had to declassify that information.”

Why else would the White House, the final bastion of the fee world, responsible for troop deployments in a hot war, and all over the world, on the anniversary of 911, think that You Tube was a priority?

You Tube's not even a priority with kids anymore, but the White House, with a rocket attack underway against US soil, the lives of four Americans in peril, has to contact You Tube and not say, the admiral of the nearest aircraft carrier unit.

This president is all image and no substance......this is the guy that staged a fake fainting spell of a pregnant woman to hide behind in the aftermath of "If you like your plan..."

Or maybe it was just confusing as **** what was going on at the time. Read the timeline of the event -- everyone was confused. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Obama didn't cover up anything, let alone cause the tragedy itself. If he can be faulted for anything it's absolutely incompetent public communication after the fact. Obama should have gotten everyone in his administration on the same page, all saying the same thing: "Something bad happened, we don't have the facts yet, but when we do you'll be the first to know."

How many sitting ambassadors have been killed?

No one ever said there have not been embassy attacks.

The last Ambassador killed was 33 years ago.

I have no idea what links you want me to supply...a list of ambassadors who have not been killed?

The Guardian Newspaper and a German broadcasting outlet blew that story out of the water the next day. The Guardian was able to sift through the rubble and lift classified documents; US security staff did not arrive for several days.

The BBC and CBC were both reporting a terrorist attack within 48 hours, with stories leading with "The US White House continues to cling to...."

The story did not change for two weeks and as evidenced here they still try to give it validity. There was a CIA report that the video figured in a demonstration in Egypt, that was it.

Yet, they continue to try to hide behind it, nearly a year and a half later, continue try to assert that it's no big deal, when in fact Obama has sent a message that you can so kill American diplomats and get away with it.

The president who would "not rest" until the perpetrators were caught and punished hasn't caught anyone to punish in 18 months.

THAT, tells everyone all they need to know.

You have allowed a serving Ambassador to be killed in an outright assassination, the perpetrators have gotten away with it for the first time in 33 years under Obama's watch.

and please pay attention, not everyone who sees the failings of the most incompetent president since Gerry Ford is a Fox news swilling conservative. In fact I don't think Fox is even available here and I am a proud member of the LIBERAL party of Canada, work for them and write speeches pointing out the many failings of the Harper government, that's the country just north of you...
