Obama on VA allegations: 'I will not stand for it'

Actually we should present it for what it was.

Republicans criticized how most of Sanders' bill was paid for — with unspent money from the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and the winding down of American military involvement in Afghanistan. The GOP says those are not real savings because no one expected those dollars to be spent as those wars ended.
The GOP and Bush promised a short sanitary war in Iraq. It turned out to be the longest war ever fought in US history. So where did the GOP get the money to pay for it? Now the VA predicts it may be providing health care for wounded vets just from the Iraq and Afghan wars alone for at least the next forty years or more. If the GOP doesn't want to pay for the wounded vets with the extra money then where does the GOP think the money should come from? Its either cut funds for the poor or take it right out of a babies mouth it doesn't matter to them as long as they don't have to pay for it or take responsibility for the damage they've caused.

Yes, it is easier to fund raise while sitting down blaming Republicans and smiling a Big cheesy grin.

Although he won't like CNN bringing up all he had to say about what he knew and wanted done, from 2007 ad 2008 after he was sworn in.

Come on, Wolf Blitzer would never do that.

Obama has got his best tiger teams on this...and you can bet they are doubling down to fix this just like they did with healthcare. Were going to come out of this with the greatest VA system the world has ever seen because Barack is on the case now...

I just got two doctor appointments in June on the same exact day, mental health and physical health.

Uhg, I've seen things like this before. Letting veterans die and then covering it up is absolutely disgusting. I don't give Obama a pass on this one because he knew what was going on and I think he definitely could have put a stop to it.

At the same time, everybody should be aware of the fact that this is what our government does. Everybody fills their pockets with cash and then somehow we don't have enough resources to properly manage federally funded programs. I've seen it with education, with housing for those with disabilities, and here it is with veteran care. The real culprit isn't the White House, as easy as it might be to believe that it is. The real culprit is our congress and the people at the top of the food chain who take their direction from congress.

The Iraq War began on Thursday, March 20, 2003 and ended on Sunday, December 18, 2011.....snip~

Heya Moot :2wave: did you still want to go with Iraq being the longest war ever fought in US History. Moreover where did you get the GOP doesn't want to pay for wounded VETS? You don't think BO's focus war on Afghanistan can compare do you?

Also why do you try to spin it from what CNN and the MS Media is now reporting. You didn't think BO could get around his Campaign Promise now did you? Or you didn't fall for his okie doke of he is just finding out.

Unspent money is money that was totaled up yet never used. As pointed out....coming from the withdrawal of troops and equipment. Yet 10k was left in Iraq.

Actually, the VA predicts that the number of veterans will drop by almost 10 million between today and 2040.

The Iraq war produced many less military veterans than Vietnam, Korea, or WW2.

GOP and Bush are long gone. Barry is in charge. But he didn't know nuttin'.

According to a local talking head, during Bush, Barry was a Senator and on the VA affairs committee. Talking head claimed Barry attended 17 out of 38 committee meetings. That could be why he didn't know nuttin.

Heya Jimbo :2wave: .....yeah he knew. That's why he was stammering in front of the cameras. Not just stuttering.

Veteran Affairs Dept Budget

2014: $154B
2006: $73B

Wait Time in Days for Care

2014: 360
2012: 255
2010: 115
2008: 110

US VA Affairs data.....snip~

Must have been all that Campaigning in 2010 and 2012......then, that is when BO just became to busy with all his other scandals to deal with.

It may drop even more if they can't get the health care they need.

Unless, of course, we get into yet another war.

Yeah, and lets not forget Shenseki also was the General that Criticized Bushed over Iraq and publically got into it with Rumsfeld. Yet BO Kept him/The Repub around.....huh?

Well, it is not unusual that one President will hold over people from the previous administration. Certainly George W. Bush kept some of Bill Clinton's appointees. I honestly don't know of Shenseki deserves the lion's share of the criticism or if he in fact is trying to fix things as much as in possible in a massive bloated bureacracy with a lot of incompetency built in. But also he would not be the first suited for one major role in life who was not able to duplicate that success in a totally different role. If that is the case he should be replaced. I have heard pros and cons expressed on that, both of which rang credible.
