Russia and China Move Into Central America

When the going gets tough - the leftists cut and run

I am not a leftist.

Only the weak make assumptions instead of asking.

What a total waste of time you are.

We are done here.

Bye bye.

You haven't been there and have no idea what went on or what's happening now. You read old propaganda, very good anti-American propaganda, and believe it, even though you live in America and should know better.

A generation of people have grown up thinking the worst of their country while having virtually no knowledge of the outside world. I'm constantly amazed that anti American propaganda left over from the Cold War still resonates among so many Americans today.

That's a big fat lie. There's plenty of American documentation, studies, books, essays, documentaries, papers by college professors, testimony, government documentation obtained through FOIA, and the scars and graves of plenty of Latin American citizens that all bear testimony to the exploitation of Latin America by US foreign policy initiatives. And none of that excuses prior centuries of European exploitation or contemporary Soviet Union exploitation. But as an American, I'm concerned with the effects of our foreign policy on other world citizens, as you should too!

Pointing out extreme right wing rhetoric and lies will get you branded such. But then that cuts both ways, such are the majority of people that are partisan.

That is why I do not waste time debating with extremists/partisans that have closed minds...TOTAL waste of time.

I am here to learn, teach and kill some time...not spew bile and hate (I play video games or watch team sports when I want to do that - lol).

Where did you learn this stuff?

To the point of the op. US foreign policy is inviting a Chinese backlash.

China has been quietly taking steps to encircle the United States by arming western hemisphere states, seeking closer military, economic, and diplomatic ties to U.S. neighbors, and sailing warships into U.S. maritime zones.
The strategy is a Chinese version of what Beijing has charged is a U.S. strategy designed to encircle and “contain” China. It is also directed at countering the Obama administration’s new strategy called the pivot to Asia. The pivot calls for closer economic, diplomatic, and military ties to Asian states that are increasingly concerned about Chinese encroachment throughout that region.

**** dude, I just told you. What a damn waste of time.

You have gone through all of this and think you have an understanding of US Foreign Policy in Central America and the Middle East?

I doubt that very much. You had someone tell you about this, a high school teacher perhaps, and without any outside input whatsoever. You have never been far from home, that's certain.

This is inevitable.

There we go again, not going to address the piles of documentation of the ill effects of US foreign policy in Latin America, just basement criticism of a poster.

Did Nicaragua invite Russia and China? If so, then that is Nicaragua's business. And, after what we did, supporting the death squads there, do you blame Nicaragua? Ron Paul called it "blowback". Bad foreign policy eventually comes back to roost.

Yeah! Russia and China would never supoort death squads!

Yes, there've been many governments where human lives lacked importance but I tend not to support them,

You missed the point. The US govt is not allowed to decide what laws it should break, whether human lives in a foreign country are more important than the laws of country which authorize it. It works for the people, and only the people can tell it what to do.

Where did you learn this stuff?

Probably by reading history and paying attention to current events, over a number of decades. Probably by being most skeptical of mainstream media accounts.

And the Russians and the Chinese didn't?

Only the US can be criticized in forums like this, largely due to the animosity from some toward addressing their own guilt of be born naturally to the greatest free country in history.

How am I expected to address these "piles of documentation" on a debate board?

I know there are 'piles of documentation' critical of the United States and it was particularly commonplace throughout the Cold War. But for Americans to rely on that now for their understanding of US history just defies any sort of logic. It's like believing WWII anti-Japanese, anti-German propaganda. Leftists just never seem to get it.

Relax. You didn't. You should have more faith in the values of your country than that. Understand how propaganda works and you'll be the better for it.

It's strange how so many Americans believe their country is capable of supporting such evil things.
