That's nonsense after he delayed federal authority via FEMA authorization. He watched buses float away because of lacking drivers, just to try to "handle it himself" and keep Bush out. When he couldn't handle it, and it was too late, he and the governor authorized FEMA jurisdiction.
Ok, whatever you say. All I'm saying is that he had a lot of nerve to tell Bush to get his ass down there in front of the whole world. Now he ass is grass.
Never happened. If you say so. I don't know what happened other than he got on TV telling Bush to get off his ass. Next thing I know he's headed to prison.
My point is that, it's totally believable that a white congressman would call Obama a tar baby. But I would be totally shocked if a black congressman called Bush a cracker.
Your version of MLK is the whitewashed version of MLK. Most white people have this very same idealistic view of MLK, but it's a myth. You keep proving how little you know. The sad part is that, because you are white, your mythical version of MLK is perpetuated and your ignorance is rewarded and, as a result, you have no motive to educate yourself. While working on an essay today, and I ran across something that seems to summarize what you've been trying to say:
I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.
That is from, as I'm sure you know already, MLK's "Letter from a Birmingham Jail". At first glance it seems to echo your disgust with me, as if I am a shining example of that same white moderate to which MLK referred. But the great difference in between MLK's words and your own is that he did not allow spite to creep into his speech - you do. He was welcoming to all who did not hate him, and so many more could listen to him, stand by him, and support him. Your words are not welcoming - they're spiteful. You place yourself in the seat of judgment as MLK never would have. You lump even those whites who stand most strongly against racism into the same toxic mindset inhabited by white racists and those who enable white racism, and by doing so make yourself seem just as prejudiced towards whites as so many whites are towards blacks.
1. Yes, you are telling me "be nice to white people". Indeed, all of your comments thus far are a perfect example of how white progressives sustain the racial status quo while deluding themselves into thinking that they are part of the solution. What you're doing is called "tone policing" and it's one of the ways members of a privileged group attempt to assert their authority of members of the oppressed group. In other words, your spite isn't helping - it's enabling the real racists, the ones (even here on DP) who will read your words and say, "See, they're just as racist as we are!"
I'm not telling you to "be nice to white people". I'm telling you that you need to learn that you can draw more flies with honey than with vinegar - the greatest leaders lift up, rather than tear down. Foisting your spite, hurt, and rage on other people might make you feel better, but in the long run they're helping no one, not you, not anyone.
I earnestly hope this helps.
I love how many white people say stuff like this as if they would ever even consider socializing with the people in those neighborhoods anyway.
Did he call Bush Cracker too?
Khalid El-Masri is a German citizen who was mistakenly abducted by the Macedonian police, and handed over to the U.S. CIA. While in CIA custody, he was flown to Afghanistan, where he was held in a black site, interrogated, beaten, strip-searched, sodomized, and subjected to other degrading treatment, which at times escalated to torture. After El-Masri held hunger strikes, and was detained for four months in the "Salt Pit", the CIA finally admitted his arrest and torture were a mistake and released him. He is believed to be among an estimated 3,000 detainees whom the CIA has abducted from 2001-2005.
Never happened.
We'll never know because it didn't happen. Some people love to blow smoke up other people's asses just to obtain a reaction.Since he ended up in prison after telling them to get off their asses and help people, I shudder to think what would have happened to him if he had called Bush a cracker. Who knows, extraordinary rendition similar to this?
LOL.. again with the broad brush..
*pssst.. your racism is showing.*

But, people have called Obama all sorts of names, and nothing happened to them - first amendment.
But, there have been more than the usual amount of threats against the president, according to some stories I've read.
Chicago cops were notorious for falsely imprisoning people years ago and sodomizing them.
Did you hear the recent court case last year where an off duty copper beat up a female bartender and almost got away with it? The PD covered up that from day (night) one.
I think someone should do a psychological study and investigate why it is typical for males in such positions to resort to sodomizing victims. I can't say for sure, but I believe it is due to some subconscious insecurity about their so called "manhood." I think that's interesting because I really can't think of a case where a woman in that type of position sodomizes victims. Not only that, I don't think I know of any cases where males have inflicted this type of abuse on women in retaliation for some sort of violation of their so called authority.
Yes, I saw that case. Pretty disgusting. Actually I personally witnessed something similar to that some years ago while visiting Los Angeles. I was in a IHOP or something like that very early one morning. There was an old homeless guy in there. If I recall right, the waitress made a mistake and spilled something on him, so he started cursing the waitress. This big off duty cop got up and beat the guy. It was right in front of my eyes. I had never seen anything like that. Then after beating him, he picked him up, and literally smashed him through the doors onto the streets. That's a true story. I saw it.

2. As long as we're giving advice, let me give you some. I advise you to educate yourself more on race and racism in the United States including the truth about MLK. I also advise you to examine yourself quite a bit more because you're not as racially progressive as you think you are. It's pretty evident that you're part of the problem when it comes to race in this country. If you do that, then you might acquire some legitimate authority in your comments about race. Until then, your comments are worthless as anything other then target practice.
I wasn't posting here last year, but was there a big outcry when Congressman Charlie Rangel called the Tea Partiers and Republicans "white crackers"?
This story really got this many people interested? An 82 year old police commissioner from Wolfeboro? Seriously? And all of this hysteria about "racism"? Good grief.
Whatever happened to sticks and stones?
And what does anyone care about what an old man says?
No. Have you even been to New Hampshire?
Even still, I can't imagine what it has to do with people making racial slurs except in your sick mind.
My sick mind? What evidence do you have of that?
Most of your posts. If someone said about conservatives what you say about liberals on a regular basis, they'd be permabanned. For some reason, you get away with it.
You say that all liberals are racists. If I so much as imply that one single conservative is, I get dinged.
