Karl Rove: Hillary may have brain damage [W:40, 145]

Re: Karl Rove: Hillary may have brain damage [W:40]

No, the real war on woman was against Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann. This is a legitimate health concern, just as it was with Ronald Reagan.

I agree....if the media treated Hillary like Sarah or Michelle.. Hillary would be in jail..

Re: Karl Rove: Hillary may have brain damage [W:40]

Why would any speculation be deplorable? Wondering about something is asking a question.

Where did Rove do this? Into a reporters microphone or in a private meeting in a closed setting?

His suggestion was deplorable, because he was not innocently "wondering" about the issue, but almost certainly floating a preemptive trial balloon for political purposes. Hillary Clinton is one of the most visible public figures, not just nationally, but worldwide. The news coverage (radio, tv, print, online) about her diagnosis, use of glasses, and subsequent recovery was so intensive that no person who even slightly follows the news could have missed them. Given the nature of political analysts' work in following current and prospective candidates and analyzing their backgrounds, experiences, etc., there is virtually no prospect that Rove was in a unique vacuum from which he was sealed off from people and information so as to have been unaware that Clinton did not suffer a traumatic brain injury and had completely recovered since that time.

The setting itself is wholly irrelevant to the nature of his implication.

Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and John McCain all had to answer questions about age and health issues. It should be no different for Hillary Clinton.

Addressing health and age issues is fair game. Implying a traumatic brain injury when the saturation news coverage provided all the information related to her fall, blood clot, and subsequent complete recovery is entirely different.

An 'implication' can often be in the mind of the listener.

Rove was in fair territory when he raised the question of her health well before the primaries began. Had he or someone else done it later it would have then been more political than it is now. Early on, and well before the election campaigns begin in earnest, Democrats have the opportunity to ask themselves the same questions regarding her health and whether it might become an election issue.

Jesus helped the poor, liberals help the poor, the comparison is uncanny.

Jesus also helped the rich. In fact the fellow he brought back to life (Lazurus) was one of the richest fellows in the area.

How do you know this for sure?

Some of the proof of that statement has been posted to this thread. Read it. If you want more - use whatever search engine floats your boat. You see the proof of it is conclusive.

All you've managed to do is prove that the Koch's only donate to organizations that benefit them. The Koch's didn't donate a dime to the medical industry until David Koch got prostrate cancer, now he donates to prostrate cancer research. That's not charity, that's self interest and pure Ayn Rand Objectivism.

Thanks for sharing, honey.

Re: Karl Rove: Hillary may have brain damage [W:40]

Good morning, Moot. :2wave:

I would like to think I would, because there are so many who, through no fault of their own, need a helping hand at times. My CPA is a stickler for taking every deduction allowed by law, and I trust him.

I grow a big garden, all organic, and although I can, freeze, and dehydrate what I need, most years there is an excess, and I think it is a sin to let it go to waste instead of sharing with others. A few years ago, I had a bumper crop of Italian parsley so I took it to the Food Bank. They were so happy to receive it, telling me "Thank you, thank you - few people ever think to bring us things like this and other herbs that makes food taste better when used in cooking." *I made a mental note to grow extra ever since then - * They determine the value, not me, so it's a win-win, IMO.

I am also a volunteer, once a week, that teaches inner-city moms how to preserve food for future use. Many schools have stopped teaching these things, sad to say, but I think it's a good idea to help people learn how to become as self sufficient as they can, since we all have to eat to stay alive. Who knows what the future holds for all of us? They seem to agree, and their enthusiasm is gratifying to me as a teacher! I am not paid to do this, BTW, nor do I list my time as a charitable deduction. It's not much, but I am doing what I can.

You sound like a wonderful person, Polgara. :)

How was he floating anything speaking in a private meeting?

In the gospel Luke, Lazarus was a beggar that died of starvation at the gates of a rich man. Abraham took the beggar into heaven and sent the rich man to hell.

In the gospel John, Jesus raised a man called Lazarus of Bethany from the dead....but there was no mention of his wealth.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are liberals. Together they got over a hundred other billionaires to pledge half their wealth to charity. Most of the names on the list appear to be liberals.....

Biblical scholars have long held Lazarus of Bethany was wealthy. Not only was his tomb located in the private wealthy area but he often hosted and resupplied Jesus and his large host of followers.

You do realize that your link uses the Urantia Book as it's primary source for your argument, right?

The Urantia Book (sometimes called the Urantia Papers or The Fifth Epochal Revelation) is a spiritual and philosophical book that originated in Chicago sometime between 1924 and 1955. The authorship remains a matter of speculation.

The authors introduce the word "Urantia" as the name of the planet Earth and state that their intent is to "present enlarged concepts and advanced truth."[1][2] The book aims to unite religion, science and philosophy,[3] and its enormous amount of material about science is unique among literature claimed to be presented by celestial beings.[2] Among other topics, the book discusses the origin and meaning of life, mankind's place in the universe, the relationship between God and people, and the life of Jesus. It has been described as "a rich and complex moral narrative, equal parts Tolkien and St. Paul."[4]

Critics claim the Urantia Book is a fanciful fiction[5] with little scientific or even Biblical basis. [6] The Urantia Book is not embraced by any mainstream religion,[7] scientific analysis reveals flaws and inaccuracies not consistent with known science,[8] and an examination of the Urantia text shows that material from over 150 other documents was plagiarized.[9]
