Rams select Michael Sam, NFL's first openly gay player [W:282]

We don't need to know which way people perform sex acts.
Keep that self-serving drivel to yourselves.

I posted this earlier in the thread. I think it needs to be restated.

Homosexuality is more than just "his sex life." When people boil the whole concept of love, attraction and commitment down to "his sex life," then all it proves is they truly don't understand anything about the subject.

What do you have against pedophiles, polygamists and those who practice beastiality? They are loving people too and should be allowed to express their love on national TV as well...........you are so bigoted and hateful...

Do you know what the difference is between homosexuality and pedophilia or beastiality? Go ahead, take your time.

1. I fully agree that the Olympics goes way over the top with the personal interest stuff. I'm not sure how that's "feminizing" them, however.

2. The Sam thing is not remotely in that vein. It's a cultural milestone.

For point one I think someone is a little sexist, which is as I browse the forums more is surprisingly common, and rather disgusting, I thought the world was past this kind of ****.

I'm sorry, but how is this news?

Re: http://www.latimes.com/sports/football/nfl/la-sp-michael-sam-nfl-draft-20140511-s

There you have it folks. Homosexuality = pedophilia.

The ignorance of that argument is as clear and concise as a Fred Phelps sermon. Congratulations.

As I said, you guys seem to think it is okay to engage in homosexual acts in front of children - that's an assault on the innocence of those children. I don't care who you hump in your bedroom - knock yourself out; but don't expect that you can behave like that in public, when children are watching, and think you won't get push back.

Here you're getting push back b/c it was brought out into the public - and you think anyone who objects is a homophobe?? That's the slippery slope, and it is the twisted logic that is pushing the envelope ever further, until - yes, I fully expect it will be a crime to prevent some pervert from molesting my kid.

The slippery slope never stops being slippery.

I walked into my parents numerous times and my parents have walked in on their parents. Did our innocence get attacked? In fact, losing one's innocence is a process of growing up, and how is sex or sex acts destroying someone's innocence?!?!?

There's this terrible norm in modern western society in which anything sexual is deemed inappropriate. We're all animals, and to be frank, EVERYONE WANTS TO ****. DON'T LIE TO YOURSELVES, I'm 15 and I already get that feeling, no need to act like its the devil.

It is feminizing in that it is designed to boost women viewers to the network during the games.

The Sam thing is worse because sexuality is and should remain a personal and private matter.

Am I to assume that you are equally as concerned when a straight player kisses his girlfriend on-screen after he's drafted?

I'm not big on public smooching myself, however the hetero couple is the norm. I understand that certain folks would like to push homosexual couples as being just as normal, and therefore use media to normalize and socialize. In my opinion, homosexuals deserve equality, not normalization. These are distinct categories and natural desires of vast majorities dictate this.

OK ... so I can't smooch my boyfriend, because I don't deserve "normalization."

Joe and Sally - sure, that's fine. But, no, I'm never, ever allowed to hold hands with my husband, or peck him on the cheek.

Would you like me to wear a paper bag over my head too?

That's not what I said. I said "use media to normalize", sports programming is for sports. You can do what ever you like. I don't care that the Sams guy kissed his boy toy, I think it was bad sports programming. That was the producer and editors choice. Had nothing to do with his act.

After rereading, I did say that but you used what I said out of context. I was using "normalization" as in social norm, meaning the vast majority of couples are heterosexual. heterosexual relationships are the norm, homosexual relationships are a minority of couples. I stated that in the previous post, but I think you misunderstood the spirit of my comment and skimmed past the explanatory statement.

So Sam was butt ****ing his boyfriend on TV? Did he blow him? I must have missed that.

Oh you mean a kiss? Wow, you watch people getting shot on the news, no problem. Dead bodies, no problem. Two women or to men kissing? OH THE HORROR!!!!!

You didn't get the memo? When one man kisses another, he's a homo. I never knew that my father was a homo because he kissed me before he died.

That and, apparently, a kiss is a "sex act." Who knew?

In all fairness, I would flaunt anything having to do with Katherine Webb too.

You and Brent Musberger!

And me too. She's drop-dead gorgeous.

Well if this woman put a lip lock on my love muscle...that would certainly be the beginning of a epic sex act... ha ha

Not at all, certain programming is targeted to particular audiences all the time. The Folks at NBC have said forthrightly that these types of stories appeal to women and help to increase ratings among women. That's called marketing not sexism... sooo it's ok to retrieve your bra from the burn barrel no sexism here.

shhhhh dont bring up reality some are mistaken and dont think its relevant.

Only relevant to obsessed agenda driven folks who believe homosexual issues are more important than all other considerations. The NFL draft is about football, not sexuality.
