Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says[W:46]

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Dude, both Hillary and Obama blamed it on a movie - not to mention the entire progressive "clan" blamed it on a movie shortly after those two idiots placed the blame on the move...

Don't even sit here and pretend Hillery, Obama and Biden (among other Washington elite) didn't blame it on a movie because that would be a straight up lie.

I don't care what they blamed it on. I'm not them.

So much time is wasted on this. A world-wide pandemic will wipe out the human race long before natural warming of the earth will.

But there are taxes to be exacted, and political power to be seized.

I don't believe a pandemic can wipe out the human race considering there will always be a group that has immunities to any disease.

There aren't many catastrophes that can wipe out the human race beyond an extraterrestrial collision with gigantic mass or maybe a quasar...

I think humans can survive just about anything.

I don't care what they blamed it on. I'm not them.

Then what is your opinion as to why we were attacked and why we didn't send any protection?

Hey Rocket...dont get shocked now...but when people think of Benghazi, they dont think of you.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Were there WMD in Iraq?

Not what was claimed, no. Only the left overs those opposing the war said. No growing and gathering.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Well, I have read bits of the report and tried to work out where their numbers come from and used their numbers.

I don't find a 3 feet sea level rise by 2100 scary. I don't find a 3 degree c warming by 2100 scary. So I'm of the opinion that we should invest in research into solar power and stuff but not panic and build wind farms that don't really work. I think we have lots of time to deploy new technologies which we don't actually have at present. Let's wait 'till 2030 before we decide what we need to do about it.

As I said, a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. It allows people to think they know enough.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

YES IT HAS BEEN AND THESE CLOWNS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT RED HANDED FLUBBING DATA NUMEROUS TIMES.

It even goes beyond that - these assclowns have been caught on tape basically claiming their data was manipulated and epic bull****.

Also, if these propagandists were so damn sure about their science then why are they so quick to dismiss and smash their fellow colleagues who disagree with their propaganda?

These global warming nuts only use 5-10 year sample sizes to support their theories as proof of AGW.... Why 5-10 years and not the 150 or so years of documented climate data or to expand even further geological data? because the long term data proves that AGW is absolute bull****.

Just not factually true. Sorry.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

The ice cap is growing. You know that, right?

Here in Louisiana it snowed three times this winter.

Hell, I'll be glad when global warming kicks in! LOL!!

1. The caps are not growing. Read the difference between sea ice and continental ice. Big difference
2. Its global climate change so you argument about weird cold happening in LA makes the case against you. Not for you.
3. The warming in GLOBAL warming refers to the entire globe's average temperature. It doesn't refer to just you feeling cold last night.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

When the ice melts in your drink, does it overflow?

Antarctica... Its land... With ice on it. Its not ice floating in water. As that ice melts it will then add to ocean levels.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Those emails have been addressed many, many times. So much that I knew that was where you were going.

We find such claims to be far wide of the mark. The e-mails (which have been made available by an unidentified individual here) do show a few scientists talking frankly among themselves — sometimes being rude, dismissive, insular, or even behaving like jerks. Whether they show anything beyond that is still in doubt. An investigation is being conducted by East Anglia University, and the head of CRU, Phil Jones, has "stepped aside" until it is completed. However, many of the e-mails that are being held up as "smoking guns" have been misrepresented by global-warming skeptics eager to find evidence of a conspiracy. And even if they showed what the critics claim, there remains ample evidence that the earth is getting warmer.

(snip)

News coverage of the e-mails and the various claims about what they supposedly show may have contributed to public confusion on the subject. A Dec. 3 Rasmussen survey found that only 25 percent of adults surveyed said that "most scientists agree on global warming" while 52 percent said that "there is significant disagreement within the scientific community" and 23 percent said they were not sure. The truth is that over the 13 years covered by the CRU e-mails, scientific consensus has only become stronger as the evidence for global warming from various sources has mounted. Reports from the National Academies and the U.S. Global Change Research Program that analyze large amounts of data from various sources also agree, as does the IPCC, that climate change is not in doubt. In advance of the 2009 U.N. climate change summit, the national academies of 13 nations issued a joint statement of their recommendations for combating climate change, in which they discussed the "human forcing" of global warming and said that the need for action was "indisputable."

Leading scientists are unequivocally reaffirming the consensus on global warming in the wake of "Climategate."

“Climategate”

The manufactured controversy over emails stolen from the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit has generated a lot more heat than light. The email content being quoted does not indicate that climate data and research have been compromised. Most importantly, nothing in the content of these stolen emails has any impact on our overall understanding that human activities are driving dangerous levels of global warming. Media reports and contrarian claims that they do are inaccurate.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Bullcrap. They were caught red handed. Stone cold busted.

Those of us who are not brainwashed fools see that very clearly.

Nope. See above.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

It's fun how many people actually believe this.

The part I outlined in red? That's the dataset that has somehow managed to convince you ice caps are growing. Meanwhile, the rest of us are looking at a whole chart.

There is a theory, a credible one, which says that, after so much global warming, more clouds are in the sky, reflecting more of the sun's light back into space, thus tapering the effects of global warming. The theory is credible, but also supports the weather changing drastically all around the world, which we are seeing. According to this theory, while natural forces may self-correct what man does to the Earth, there is still going to be hell to pay. This theory may account for the sudden temporary growing of ice caps, after shrinking for many years. Whether this temporary growing of the ice caps becomes permanent is still unknown, but the radical shifts in both weather and climate all over the world are going to become even more radical. So, while global warming is backed by all the scientific evidence, the term "climate change" is more appropriate.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

YOUR ARE TALKING ABOUT FLOATING ICE AGAIN.

This science stuff is not that hard.

The floating stuff does not matter. The land ice is all that matters.

The worst case scenario for the Greenland ice is that it causes a 9cm sea level rise by 2100.

Wake up!

Its not just sea levels that are the only concern. Current floews are a major concern too.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

And you alarmists are projecting your own rot onto us skeptics again. Wind has a bigger effect on Arctic ice extent than temperatures and are probably a bigger factor in ice extent declines there, but that isn't mentioned.

No, the Antarctic gains nearly offset the Arctic losses on the average. Looking at 2014 in particular, the Arctic had lost 0.75 million sq km compared to the 1981 to 2010 average and the Antarctic gained 1.45 million sq km.

Again, I answered this. You are not disputing the answer.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Just not factually true. Sorry.

Funny, how I can write several paragraphs explaining my position on the issue yet the typical progressive response is a half of a sentence.

I suppose if you knew what you were talking about you would have more substance than just "that isn't true."

Thanks tho - for legitimizing my point when it comes to progressives and how they blindly follow.

Re: Climate change is here and action needed now, new White House report says

Nope. See above.
BS. Simply saying "nothing to see here" does not change the facts.

Data was faked. And the leaked e-mails prove that Phil Jones among others knew about it.

I'm sure you can and so can I. But I've seen no evidence the effort is effective. In fact, I've seen no evidence that any evidence has any meaning at all. But, these have been addressed countless times. We all can repeat verbatim what will come next. I've been sitting here predicting each reply. Nothing new. The fact remains when all is said and done, the overwhelming support from the scientific community remains that GW is real, and that man plays a role in it. And each little effort of running away with a little information, often out of context, has failed to change the facts.

No, factually the data wasn't faked. I've given links on that.

Yes, the Chinese station data was faked. They admit it in the leaked e-mails.

And in MBH 98-99 data was cherry picked, truncated and extrapolated to create the infamous hockey schtick chart.

The FBI dropped the ball on this one. Those ****ers should be in prison.

If ice caps melt, we'll see an upward spike in houseboat prices.

On the other hand, if they don't melt every now and then, we'll all be up to our hoo has in ice.

That just isn't true because there has been too much from too many different scientists who still hold exactly the same opinion. You are simply wrong.

If - when that happens, I'll move back to Elephant Butte, maybe even sooner. :peace

Yet carbon is only .03% of our atmosphere...

That is something AGW nuts HATE to admit...

The molecular composition of our environment contradicts everything AGW nuts have been spewing.

These ****ing clowns - few believe "man made" climate change as if the environment never changed in the first place - AGW is so ****ing ridiculous that it boggles my mind how any honest person whom is intelligent enough to understand the science or at least basic chemistry could actually believe such bull****.

These clowns are worrying about "AGW" yet pay little to no attention to catastrophes that could seriously destroy our climate such as super volcanoes, alien impacts or a shift in the gulf stream etc.

I'll say this much - the odds of a super volcano erupting and giving us a nuclear winter (not to mention the pollution it will spill) are a lot greater than Florida being underwater in the next 30 years.

Reading is fundamental. So read this, which explains the distortion you just posted. And this article is not from FOX News, dictated to them by the coal industry. It is from a group of SCIENTISTS.
