Judge under fire for rape sentence, implying victim was promiscuous

Kind of not the point. The point is that it's a defacto form of punishment so to suggest that the kid got off lightly is incorrect. As I said, someone who used to prosecute child sex offenders for a living thought the sentence was appropriate - that's good enough for me.

Hormones are irrelevant to the issue of rape. If they were then someone can just claim oh that chick was hot or she was wearing slightly revealing clothing and I just lost control.



I conceded that the sentence was light, even for me, but I can understand a scenario whereby someone really just made a huge mistake, recognized it, owned up to it, and a judge felt that they were sincere.

The victim was raped,If they judge should have felt sympathy towards anyone it should be the victim.The defendant already admitted to rape.

Dude, I was accused of rape once, and to me (but apparently not her) the sex was consensual. I almost lost my job over it. I prevailed because I had plenty of witnesses that stood by my story. We were both very drunk, didn't know each other, young, and we had what I thought was consensual sex. She woke up, and didn't see it that way. The story for me bore out that we met, had plenty of people around us, and we were all drinking heavily. We danced, kissed, grinded you name it. We went back to the hotel, and even with her room-mate in the room we had sex. Room mate stuck up for me, she stated that her room-mate instigated the sexual activity (She heard her say "who cares if she's in the room", obviously replying to my objection) but think about what would have happened if I had no witnesses? I would be a sex offender (literally) and the title would not be deserved.

Irrelevant. The individual in the OP admitted to rapping the girl. This is not a case of he said she said.
Is it here? Maybe.. But I wasn't in the court room. I didn't hear what the judge heard. The kid admitted to having sex with her when she said no. I wouldn't have done that, nor would any descent man, but a boy who misread signals and then commands to stop did do it. Does it make him a sex offender? I dunno, I'm not sure.

Rape is rape.It doesn't matter what his hormones say.The girl did not want sex,the forced himself on her.So yes it does make him a sex offender.

This is one reason why the judicial branch needs more accountability and checks against them. Having the judicial system essentially regulate itself is a bad idea.

The girl's sexual history just makes her trampy, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have rights and it's just as much of a legal crime to rape a promiscuous person as it is to rape a virgin.

I wonder, in detail, why the judge ruled as she did.
 
Our judicial system is evil and they tried a similar case here in Illinois.

A man by the name of Jerry Hobbs was in jail for 5-years accused of killing his daughter and her friend and the fact that the semen found at the scene didn't match the fathers DNA wasn't enough, however they charged this poor man with the murder of his child and her friend and he spent 5-years in county jail awaiting trial.... The DA damn well knew it was not the fathers semen at the crime scene, but chose to go forth with the case---- yeah that was until a serial rapist killer was found that matched the semen - and guess what? they still didn't release Hobbs (the father) -no- the prosecutions defense was literally that the 11-year-old was "sexually promiscuous" and that was the explanation for the serial rapist killers DNA being at the scene and not the fathers.

In my county cops are lazy - the first guy they get is "guilty" and they don't care if there is a real murderer or rapist roaming the streets.... And to me that says a lot about how these clowns think....

Of course this is only one case from my local area....

We actually made a documentary on the epic police state and the corruption and blatant prosecutorial misconduct that continues to happen in my area every day.

I'm not trying to promote here but this is just reality: however this is a case from the same county where cop Nazi's treated good people like they were blatant criminals.

I'd rather have judges who are trained to listen to the evidence of the case, and to rule accordingly.

Presumably, you are suggesting that an 18-year-old kid who did not stop when a girl said "no" and promptly confessed to his crime should be subject to the exact same treatment as some 50 year-old guy who abducts prepubescent girls, rapes them, cuts them up in pieces, and dumps the pieces in the garbage. Do you realize how ****ed-up that sort of "justice" seems? Are you aware that teenage sex offenders are statistically just as likely to commit another sexual offense as any other teenage offender?

Quit trying to minimize what he did. He raped a little schoolgirl. He's a ****ing monster. A sociopath. Anyone with that little respect for the rights of others needs to be taken out of society permanently.

There is no excuse for rape. And the people who make excuses for him are just as disgusting as he is. Especially those idiots who are backing the judge's decision just because she's a Democrat.

He changed that girl's life forever and the punishment should be severe.

It is not about excuses or minimizing. You are suggesting that all rape should be treated equally in sentencing, which actually minimizes the raping and murdering of children by treating it as though it is no different from a guy not stopping when a girl says no.

That piece of crap sub-human monkey boy raped a little girl right at her school. She must have been terrified and will never forget that sub-human raping her. It will probably will affect her the rest of her life. And those of us who are friends of rape victims know the permanent damage it does to their psyches.

And some people are disgustingly trying to minimize what that sub-human monkey boy did to her.
