Ex-White House Official On Benghazi: 'Dude, This Was Like Two Years Ago'

Why, because he makes this egotistical liberal unqualified President and his entire administration look like the fools that they are? Is that the rub?

Which is why if you are of the stripe that wants to hear about how great this very qualified and thoughtful President is you probably tune-in to MSNBC to have the story reported to you by the ever professional and enlightening likes of Al Sharpton, Rachael Maddow and Chris Mathews.
No, because he probably can't remember what he had for dinner two nights ago, and he expects the guy to recall what happened two years ago.

I need a Honest Poster to help me out here.

Ofcourse that excludes all Liberals.

The E-mails was dated Sept 14.

How many "protest" over the video actually happened by Sept 14 ??

And how many were actual "attacks" ??

Because the E-mail specifically refers to "attacks" in the plural, right ?

Im just wondering if that E-mail was specifically refering to Cairo and Benghazzi ?

Anyone have a timeline of the events and protest before and after Cairo ?

The State Department knew within hours on the day of the attack that it was not a protest, but was an attack by Islamist terrorists. It had absolutely nothing to do with a video.

but there were protests going on in cairo and other cities in the middle east around the same time.

That's questionable, but does not alter the fact that the State Dept. knew immediately that Ansar Al Sharia was responsible for Benghazi.

LOL! Typical liberal malarkey. Remembering what you had for dinner doesn't matter. Remembering who was in the room, what was being said and what you were thinking at the time during key events is easy to recall.

I'm sure you don't remember what you had for breakfast on Sept 11, 2001. But I'm pretty sure you remember who was with you and what you were observing on the TV when the towers came down?

why are you blaming the State department for following the advice given to them by the C.i.a?

I'm not. I'm blaming them for claiming for weeks that an obscure video caused a random protest that was responsible for the deaths of four Americans.

Correct. The little twerp remembered being in the Situation Room that day and that Obama was no where to be found, but sustained selective memory loss on where the talking points came from.

This was on FOX news which by the way isn't even news.... So why are we obsessing over this? And yes it is ignorance but Benghazi is long over. I'm sure we as Americans have many more issues to worry about, ESPECIALLY domestically.

Benghazi US consulate attack: Timeline

_62870604_benghazi_us_cons_624map.jpg

After initially saying the attack may have been spontaneous, US authorities now say it was a pre-planned strike. Libyan authorities have said militants probably used an anti-US protest as cover for the attack, and may have had help from inside the country's security services.

Here is the timeline of events that US officials believe led to the death of US ambassador Christopher Stevens, his state department colleague Sean Smith and former Navy Seals Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

10pm: Attackers open fire at the consulate, which has a main building and a smaller annex.

10.15pm: The assailants gain entry to the complex and the main building is engulfed in flames.

BBC News - Benghazi US consulate attack: Timeline

It started that Night.....by early Mornin 7 Countries had risen up in protest of the US. Which the day before AQ Video was released with al Zawahri <sp> calling on those in Libya to avenge al libi.

Your time would have been more productively spent trying to attain reality.

enjoy the Jihad/ Sharia that is taking over London.. my friends there say its A NIGHTMARE
your post as always in meaningless to reality

was it a crime to do so?

Lot's of things are not crimes, but result in people being kicked out of office or forced to resign.

And if the lies were politically motivated because of the election, then yes it was a crime.

No they didn't. Coming the day after Brigadier General Lovell's testimony you have to have your head way way up in fantasy clouds or buried far into the sand to not know that. I'd say good try, but it was strictly speaking a pathetic try.

...A few hours later, the powerful chairman of the Armed Services panel, Rep. Howard "Buck" McKeon, R-Calif., challenged the testimony of Lovell, who was in U.S. Africa Command's headquarters in Germany monitoring the attack.

...The general "did not serve in a capacity that gave him reliable insight into operational options available to commanders during the attack, nor did he offer specific courses of action not taken," McKeon said...

"We have no evidence that Department of State officials delayed the decision to deploy what few resources the Defense Department had available to respond," McKeon said. "Lovell did not further the investigation or reveal anything new, he was another painful reminder of the agony our military felt that night: wanting to respond but unable to do so."...

I know that, I'm just trying to find a actual timeline.

How many actual protest were ther due to the video and when did they happen ?

Of course I'm not refering to Cairo and Benghazzi.

As a matter of fact, I had a bowl of Wheaties and a banana, after that I went to Starbucks for coffee. Soon after that they closed for the day.

Here is a much longer version of the video.

BRET BAIER: The 14th is the day you’re talking about. According to the e-mails and the time line, the CIA circulates new talking points after they’ve removed the mention of al Qaeda, and then at 6:21 the White House – you – add a line about the administration warning of September 10th of social media reports calling for demonstrations. True?

TOMMY VIETOR: I believe so.

BAIER: Did you also change “attacks” to “demonstrations” in the talking points?

VIETOR: Maybe. I don’t really remember.

BAIER: You don’t remember?

VIETOR: Dude, this was like two years ago. We’re still talking about the most mundane process.

BAIER: Dude, it is the thing that everybody is talking about.

VIETOR: We’re talking about the process of editing talking points. That’s what bureaucrats do all day long. Your producers edit scripts multiple times.

So why did you guys persist on Watergate, which wasn't even close to being this serious?

No the timeline of the protest that actually occured because of the video.

The E-mail refered to "Protest" in the plural 3 days after the Benghazzi attack.

So we can ofcourse drop Cairo and Benghazzi from the list.

What other "protest" were there over the video 3 days after the attack ?

RhodesEmail022.jpg

The email doesn't mention "attacks". It says that the protests were over a video... which they were.

and for perspective here is a time line

11:15 a.m.: The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence,* having asked for talking points, gets a draft from the CIA’s Office of Terrorism Analysis. It starts with this line, the one that would undo Susan Rice during her run through the Sunday shows: "We believe based on currently available information that the attacks in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against the U.S. consulate and subsequently its annex."

12:23 p.m.: The CIA's office of general counsel adds a line about the "inspired by the protests" theory being inconclusive.

3:04 p.m.: The talking points are sent to relevant White House aides, including Ben Rhodes.

4:42 p.m.: The CIA circulates new talking points but removes a mention of al Qaida.

6:21 p.m.: The White House (Tommy Vietor, not Ben Rhodes) ads a line about the administration warning, on September 10, of social media reports calling for demonstrations.

7:39 p.m.: State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland objects to some of the language because "the penultimate point could be abused by members to beat the State Department for not paying attention to Agency warnings."

8:09 p.m.: Ben Rhodes sends the "smoking gun" email, nine hours after the first draft of talking points from the CIA said that the attacks grew out of a demonstration.

Smoking gun: Shock #Benghazi email reveals that Obama White House agreed with CIA talking points.

and the time line is sourced here.
