Benghazi emails suggest White House aide involved in prepping Rice for ‘video [W:212]

Re: Benghazi emails suggest White House aide involved in prepping Rice for ‘video’ ex

LOL It was the CIA's failure to uncover the plot, it was their "operation" that was keeping that consulate open when other countries had withdraw to Tripoli and their advice that caused Stevens to refuse extra security TWICE. The were heavily involved in Benghazi and it was not "ad hoc". You are just discounting it because it doesn't incriminate the Whitehouse just like the House investigation/witch hunt. That's also why we will never know the real story.

Amb. Stevens was in Benghazi for reasons unrelated to anything any other agency was doing. We kept our consulate open after others had left because that's what we do. I myself was in the US Embassy in Monrovia during Round One of the Liberian Civil War (1990-91) when we were the only embassy left in town. That happens regularly. Stevens' refusal of extra security had everything to do with his confidence and nothing to do with anything else. Of course we were involved in Benghazi, but personnel at the annex had no (zero, nada, zip) responsibility for security at the Consulate. When they reacted on the night of the attack they reacted as Americans helping other Americans, nothing more.:peace

Considering it's in the official record a lot more then ofailures lies to the UN about the tragedy in Benghazi. Reagan demanded answers, your dictator continues to hide his.

How much did the President (Ronald Reagan) own up to the fact that those guards didn't have ammunition in their guns?

Really? Did the Commander and Chief demand answers from himself as to why guards would not have loaded guns in unfriendly territory?

Why wouldn't it be?

It's a tactical decision for the commander on the scene. Force protection posture is a local responsibility. In addition, that was long before our present era of instant high-def video feeds from the battle space. :peace

I'm beginning to think he likes it for some reason.

My point on this part of this issue is in fact what sort of accountability will we have if presidents and the executive branch can spew forth whatever they want for any political purposes, expediency, convenience? With no accountability what so ever? I don't think that this precedence bodes well for the future.

I fear we'll have none as long as the Partisan's are in control. (Both sides)

The buck does not stop but the active responsibility is pushed to the lowest level possible to optimize force effectiveness. That is why Ambassador Stevens, for example, was able to have his way when he declined additional security personnel.:peace

True. But that was not a military situation. In 1983, when those troops were deployed to Beirut, the Commander and Chief (Ronald Reagan) was the head honcho over that; that had nothing to do with ambassadors; that had everything to do with troop movement--not bureaucratic negotiations.

Sorry, but no. I realize how much you want RWR to have been responsible, but that is contrary to all US military doctrine and principles of leadership throughout our history. The commander on the scene has full authority and responsibility for force protection. And there's less difference between Beirut and Benghazi than you think. Ambassadors, like Combatant Commanders, derive their authority directly from the POTUS.:peace

Just look at what President Bush did in the autumn on 2002 when he and his administration set forth a campaign to scare the American people about Iraq's WMD so it would make it politically unpopular for Democrats to vote against his resolution to attack Iraq. That was indeed a very costly misadventure. Please save all the quotes and misquotes from Democrats. They wanted the wanted the UN inspectors to complete there job in Iraq.

So let me see if I have this right, you were against what Bush did yet support Obama for doing what you claim Bush did only on a smaller scale? Not sure what it is about liberals who keep bringing up Bush. If you were against Bush how can you be for Obama now?

All US military doctrine and principles of leadership throughout our history has been dictated by the President.

If you do not believe that try asking Patton (if he was alive.) how his relationship with Truman went. And I'll guarantee you if Abraham Lincoln didn't like a general not listening to him, that General would know about it.

Can you prove that Reagan told the troops not to have bullets in their guns? Keep blaming things in the past to divert from the disaster in the present?

Re: Benghazi emails suggest White House aide involved in prepping Rice for ‘video’ ex

IDK. Did he lie about, blame someone who wasn't responsible, and try to continue a false rhetoric until proven a liar? That's what your dictator has done. So if you condemn RR why don't you condemn your loser in charge? Oh that's right because it doesn't matter who lives and dies it matters who's R or D.

Yes. Leadership and command. Not tactics on the battlefield.:peace

No Obama didn't have to because he was not in control of troop movement. Now I say again: Did Reagan assume responsibility for guards guns being unloaded in unfriendly territory or did he just blame someone else?

Re: Benghazi emails suggest White House aide involved in prepping Rice for ‘video’ ex

That does matter to them, in fact I don't believe they care about the four who died in Benghazi, it's just a talking point them to place the blame on Hillary Clinton, who if she runs, would wipe the floor with any Gee Oh Pee candidate, and they know it.

The point remains not that Americans were killed, since we have Americans that are still being killed in Korea as they help on the boarder along with countless other countries we have interest in that are in turmoil. The fact is that our Commander in Chief hid emails that showed he lied to the American so he can avoid issues during an election, and that it took a "court order" to get the email released because it was still being hid after the election to hid the fact he lied for the election.

How do you know what the CIA was doing there? They have never told anyone. The rest of your story is the same, it is just your opinion. Why don't you care to find the real truth about the CIA's intelligence failure and mission?

Four GOP House Committees, one for each Death.
Every USA tragedy in Foreign affairs in recent times should be treated with the utmost respect.

Chairmen McKeon and Camp are credible, ISSA and Gowdy not so much.
McKeon and his GOP committee members have already dissed what ISSA is doing.

Along with Boehner, 6 more months of this 3-ring circus .

Of course. As anticipated. Still blaming Bush, even though multiple nation's intelligence services corroborated what the US intelligence services were stating at the time, and Obama can do no wrong.

Enjoy left wingers lying to you, claim right wingers are worse.

You do realize that you've lost any remaining credibility that you might have had?

Good luck proving this.
This whole schtick with Romney playing politics with Death started before the 2012 election.
After the election, GOPs have simply turned up the volume and and frequency for 1.5 years, combined with hits on Hillary and now Kerry .

Sorry, but no matter who the president or the subject is, they don't give up information without a fight. Bush didn't and Obama doesn't and future presidents will not either. They figure if you want it, there must be something there that can be used against them.
