Do you know why they were giving him that award? Right around the time when he settled a suit for discriminating against Hispanics in rental housing, he made a big donation, which judging from the timing was basically "Look, I'm not really racist" PR.

It's amazing that the right wants to defend this guy...seriously, it amazes the crap out of me. You're not racist, so you should be happy about him paying the price. I guess when trying to say "Look he's a Democrat" didn't work....

They were giving him the award for a second time. The NAACP liked his money. A lot. Sheer hypocrisy. Now they're thumping their chests too. Pathetic, and very sad.

FACT: The girlfriend was with Magic Johnson and posted it on instagram, which set Sterling off on his rant.

FACT: She made the tape of that conversation public.

Then this: Report: Magic Johnson wants to buy the Clippers from Donald Sterling | ProBasketballTalk

Is this a coordinated effort between Magic Johnson and the girlfriend to take over the team?

Privacy? To read the posts in this thread and others, they don't care about our privacy anymore. Now people are labeled as monsters because of things they say in private. I thought our homes were supposed to be off limits?

$2.5 million fine for what? They can't even validate a claim that he cost anyone any money. It just freaking happened.

But oh so many feelings were hurt, don't you know? :roll: You know what's pathetic. To hear people admit that the words a man says to his gold digging bunny are so damn important to them that they are "hurt" by it. Thank doG my life isn't that pathetic that I cry because of what someone says to his girlfriend.

I wonder what the national reaction would have been if he told his girlfriend that he didn't want her to bring her Catholic friends to his games anymore. The chants about the "Bible thumping nuts" would come out, and everyone would high five Sterling for being a cool guy.

I guarantee you if he said those words it would never have become national news.

And why would you be outraged by that? This isn't the Special Olympics. Everyone isn't a winner, and we all don't love each other. We don't all have to like each other. It's one thing to oppress people you don't like, or hold them down, or hurt them physically. But now we're all getting weepy and outraged because someone doesn't like someone else?

Everyone wants the government to keep out of what businesses do, right?

OK, this is a business decision made by the NBA, pure and simple. They have a bad egg and they are tossing it, has zero to do with free speech, has everything to do with the free market, and for a company to make a decision that best serves their company.

So much hypocrisy, so many diva's, comedy gold.
