On Saturday night, Johnson tweeted: “Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!’’
The initial indication was Johnson was calling for an all-African-American league complete with black ownership.

Knicks great calls for all-black league amid Clippers race fiasco | New York Post

I have learned we have many folks who are so racially sensitive they see it where there is none.

Now, if you had anyone in any sport say the following and used "white" instead of black, what would the fallout be?

Another question... would you be for or against an league that as its qualifying factor is race?

One old man makes some stupid remarks while pissed at his girlfriend, and the world has to come to an end. Grow up and move on.

Go for it !

The NBA has been trying to get away from the ghetto thug atmosphere that some of the black players brought into the League.

They realize that Fights, arrest and multiple babies out if wedlock dont appeal to average fan who comes to the game. It doesn't appeal to the Corporations that spend Billions on endorsements either.

Not saying a all black league would necessarily turn ghetto but something tells me their core standards might be a little different than the NBA.

Let him do it, nothing stopping him.

Sorry but in the case of the owner, that was completely racist comments he made. Hands down racist.

Now this guy calling for an "all-black" league is no better IMO because he wants to exclude white people.

I also don't think this is something the NBA should act upon nor the government. Now, people have every right to boycott this guy and if he lives in a state that doesn't allow recording without notification he could sue for damages against who recorded him.

The real issue here is Johnson's grammar, that was almost illegible.

One old man makes some stupid remarks while pissed at his girlfriend, and the world has to come to an end. Grow up and move on.

The owner of a mostly (all?) black team makes racist remarks and unsurprisingly people freak out. An old basketball legend makes remarks about creating an all black league and people freak out. I think I see a pattern here.

Yes, thugs and ghetto, that is the takeaway. The core standards of these people is most definitely suspect... :lamo

That would be idiotic. Some people get their panties in a wad and say stupid ****...just look at the RWers running to defend Bundy and Sterling. Great poster boys there....

Would that make the NBA all white, and if so, WHO WOULD WATCH IT?

Poor thought process Rocket. It would not make the NBA all-white. All races would still be free to join the NBA, and I am sure a great many would.

You obviously did not read Bundy's statement in full. It is not racist... it is compassionate, respectful, shows concern and disdain for what government has wrought.

Do not clump the racist Sperling (D) with Bundy.

Good thing you have bodyguards to protect you from whomever is scaring you then.

The PC police, they're EVERYWHERE. A white person can't even say racist **** anymore, Murica is ded.

The racist Sperling is a registered (R). If you're going to troll, at least be factual.

Even if Bundy's not racist, he has been getting welfare and now that the government cut him off....well there's an armed standoff. Is a welfare King someone you want to champion?

Thanks for the laugh.

That is a good question. My answer is no if it is gov't funded (in any way). We seem to readily accept gender as a qualification/limitation so how is race (an immutable and protected trait) perceived as "totally" different?

Here is his statement. Copy, paste and then bold the racist bits.
It is a statement that shows compassion, respect, love and disdain at government for what it has done to people. And he does say something along the lines of not wanting to go back... so have at it buckeroo.

Let me tell, talk to you about the Mexicans, and these are just things I know about the negroes. I want to tell you one more thing I know about the negro. When I go, went, go to Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and I would see these little government houses, and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids -- and there's always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch. They didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

And because they were basically on government subsidy -- so now what do they do? They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never, they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered are they were better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things? Or are they better off under government subsidy?

You know they didn’t get more freedom, they got less freedom -- they got less family life, and their happiness -- you could see it in their faces -- they wasn't happy sitting on that concrete sidewalk. Down there they was probably growing their turnips -- so that’s all government, that’s not freedom.

Now, let me talk about the Spanish people. You know, I understand that they come over here against our Constitution and cross our borders. But they’re here and they’re people -- and I’ve worked side by side a lot of them.

Don’t tell me they don’t work, and don’t tell me they don’t pay taxes. And don’t tell me they don’t have better family structures than most of us white people. When you see those Mexican families, they’re together, they picnic together, they’re spending their time together, and I’ll tell you in my way of thinking they’re awful nice people. And we need to have those people join us and be with us not, not come to our party.

Meanwhile, a deranged killer is threatening to take Ukraine and start World War III.

And we're on a 24/7 news cycle surrounding some old fart who got pissed off at his girlfriend and went off on a racist rant on a private phone call.

Except CNN, of course, who's still looking for that pesky plane.

THIS is why this country is going down the tubes. Priorities and focus always in the wrong places.

Except for the fact that Donald Sterling is an actual racist, so in this case this is irrelevant.

If you can't figure it out, there is no point in trying to explain it to you.

Isn't his mistress half black half Hispanic ?

So does that mean there would also be an all-white league, an all-Asian league, and so on?
