Re: PostABC News poll shows Democrats at risk in November as Obama’s approval rating

Yeah but when you throw in this part with it.....then those numbers get a little worse.

Fox poll: 61% thinks Obama lies on important matters....

About six in ten American voters think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters some or most of the time, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday.

Thirty-seven percent think Obama lies “most of the time,” while another 24 percent say he lies “some of the time.” Twenty percent of voters say “only now and then” and 15 percent “never.”

Only among his strongest constituencies does Obama’s reputation for honesty remain strong — or at least relatively so:

The number of voters saying Obama lies “most of the time” includes 13 percent of Democrats. It also includes 12 percent of blacks, 16 percent of liberals, 31 percent of unmarried women and 34 percent of those under age 30 — all key Obama constituencies.

Yet some of those groups are also among those most likely to say Obama “never” lies to the country on important matters: blacks (37 percent), Democrats (31 percent), liberals (28 percent) and women (19 percent).

Yes, those are not exactly massive statements of confidence in Obama’s honesty. The problem for Obama is that even when he pursued unpopular policy, public perception of his intelligence and honesty helped keep his approval ratings from utterly tanking. His central conceit — that he was not just another politician — is what allowed him to endure the disastrous 2010 cycle and survive the 2012 re-election. The explosion of the “you can keep your plan” lie, combined with the more recent and more flagrant “women only earn 77 cents to men’s dollar” lie, has done the predictable damage to his reputation.

Even with that, though, Obama’s approval rating actually rebounded slightly in this series. It’s back to 42/51 from 38/54 six weeks ago in this series, which was an all-time low. Believe it or not, 42/51 is actually Obama’s best approval rating in this series for 2014 a tie on approval, and the lowest disapproval of the year.....snip~

Good thing Obama isn't going for election in 2014 or 2016 huh?

You continue to bring up Obama in an election he's not in, which is why the GOP is going to blow it again.

Yet again, Obama's approval numbers does not mean the GOP is more supportive by the people.

I have I added this gem you continue to pass over:

Americans trust Democrats over Republicans by 40 to 34 percent to handle the country’s main problems.

I don't care if you are female or not son.

Heya TNE.....do you think the Democrats can get away from Chewing all that cud? What about their followers?

http://www.debatepolitics.com/obama...ov-still-missing-massive-critical-pieces.html

In spite of the media's "winning streak" cheerleading, many elected Democrats are heeding party pollsters' advice not to campaign on the unpopular law. The Huffington Post notes that many Senate Democratic candidates' websites omit any mention of the law, while The Hill reports that to many Democrats, "Obamacare is a four letter word:"

In a review of battleground races, The Hill found that out of 50 Democratic candidates with active campaign websites, only 11 mention the healthcare law by name, either as "ObamaCare," "Affordable Care Act," or "ACA." Fourteen more mention the law, but not its name, and half the candidates omit it entirely from their websites. President Obama has trumpeted that more than 8 million people have enrolled in ACA-related plans. Meanwhile, congressional Democrats have been more cautious, focusing on jobs and the economy......snip~

Re: PostABC News poll shows Democrats at risk in November as Obama’s approval rating

Before Republican voters start spiking the football, general opinion polls are useful but not the end all be all. There's still elections where the generic Republican actually is a person. There are some tight races in Arkansas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Virginia etc.

Obviously this poll has sent you into a frenzy. I'll post with you when you act like a grown up. Please start your own thread with this poll so you can meltdown in there.

The GOP is no better than the Democrats, so you're wasting your time trying to somehow annoy me with that poll response.

Yes, I do think the Dems can get away with it. Why? Because the minute a GOP candidate starts spouting off social conservatism, they dig their grave.

Sharon Angle was the perfect example of that in Nevada.

Were you going to try and say Obama's poll numbers don't affect the Democratic Party?

Oh yeah, I'm in a fernzy alright :lamo

I just laugh when some Cons think because Obama is doing lousy that the GOP is automatically seen as doing better.

It will affect it some yes, but not as much as you think.

Absolutely correct, and has always been the case.

I doubt any Republican voter is spiking any footballs but who knows? They could be - shouldn't be, but could be. November is a long ways away. Anything can happen - and things usually do happen.

That said, this will all depend on turnout anyway.

Yet, you don't think the focus can be placed on any of their Hitters like Sharptones and Jesse Jackson?

Re: PostABC News poll shows Democrats at risk in November as Obama’s approval rating

No. In fact the last election was not about Bush at all, yet you go right on believing that it was about Bush.

The fact remains the GOP constantly screws up by trying to push social conservatism. They claim the economy is the most important issue (which I think is too), yet they continue to focus on social conservatism.

Romney focused on the economy and lost because people were still giving obama a pass and blaming Bush. That is over, the well has run dry.

Not sure what you mean there, can you elaborate?

Clueless one, if you have a problem with the "con" who wrote the words in the OP and the article, you better call the "cons" at WaPo & ABC and yell at them. Even after 5 posts, you still don't get that they made the assumptions.

I'll let you have the last word because it means so much to you. Have a wonderful day!

Re: PostABC News poll shows Democrats at risk in November as Obama’s approval rating

Say it ain't so?!?! But, but... he's Obama? That can't be true.

Seriously though. I can't believe his numbers are that high.

people seem to think he is a nice guy.

on that i seriously doubt if you talk to anyone related to him. he is very standoffish and very unsocialable.
i have yet to hear anyone from his family that they keep finding everywhere has anything nice to say about him.

Re: PostABC News poll shows Democrats at risk in November as Obama’s approval rating

No Romney lost because he started insulting voters with his 49% comment and while he was running for the primary in the GOP race tried to be socially conservattive which bit him in the ass in the General election.

LOL personal insults is all you got now? Seems you are defintely the one in a frenzy.

Well in a 40 to 36 Margin.....on an issue about trust. I think that affect damn near evens things up. Which then not discussing issues that will affect those who believe in them. Will hurt some more.

Fernzy? He's being over run by ferns, too it seems. I've never been over run by ferns, but it must be horrific - a fernado.

It depends, like I said before, if the GOP focus on the economy and not insulting a large number of people (i.e. a 49% comment) and they don't bring out the social conservatism they stand a VERY good chance of taking the senate.

However, the minute social conservatism gets in the race the GOP is not going to go very far.

Neither party is trust worthy in the least, but the GOP seems to like shooting itself in the foot with social conservatism.

The 49% remark hurt him for sure but obama won because he was still successfully blaming Bush for the economy. That dog no longer hunts.

Sure.....it means, that the MS Media can be brought to bear down on the likes of those two as well as any Alan Graysons types in their party.

Sorry that dog wasn't hunting in 2012 either. Fact is Romney's campaign was horribly run, which cost him the election. Not Bush, not anyone but Romney.

Actually I met Obama, and found him to be very personable and likeable. I detest his politics and associates, but I would have a cocktail with him.
