Bundy's 'ancestral rights' come under scrutiny

"in your family" means owned to most people. WTF? Additionally did you not read the OP, his family have been on their 160 acres since 1948. hardly close to the 1800s you try to claim.

They originally homesteaded a ranch in 1877. Rights to water and grazing followed to other areas where the rancher moved to. What part of that dont you understand. Or, just for arguement. Lets say you are right, and they have been there since 1946. What difference does it make? He feels the charges are unconstitutional based on its a state rights issue and not a fed issue.

When the G lied about the turtles, they lost their sympathy from me.
They would have also gotten a lot farther with a brace of attorneys then armed BLM officers playing SWAT.

He ignored the previous court orders, which attorney do you think he would have listened to?

I don't give a **** what he "feels." He's still breaking the law.

Wesley Snipes felt like he shouldn't have to pay taxes, and he got to feel his feelings for three years in a prison cell.

Thing is you may not have heard but, They have driven off ALL the other ranchers. He is pretty much he last one in that area, guess you dont care that they are driving away food producers though huh?

You mean they stopped ranchers from grassing off of public land.

But hey beef prices just hit an all time high! nothing to see here
The Bundy is raising grass fed beef. Most beef is grain fed. Bundy amounts to the dirty hippies who raise free range chickens and charging several bucks or more for a dozen eggs.So if you are buying beef from a regular grocery store it is grain fed. What the average person pays for beef is not being effected by closing public lands to grazing.

So you would just sell property that has been in your family since the 1800s. Versus fight to keep it and stand strong.

Well no, I'd scale back and tailor my operations to the 150 acres of land I own (speaking as a Bundy).

If it's a state's rights issue as you say, Bundy should pay state's fees, $12 a head in Nevada, compared to $1.35 a head to the BLM .

Along with Federal and State and Municipal Government Pensions, Health Care, and other gubmit bennies .
Too bad those who are so outraged aren't as outraged at welfare freeloaders, or workmans comp freeloaders, or healthcare freeloaders....

Seeing how he has been using public lands to graze his cattle on the property he has is insufficient in raising cattle. How long he alleges that his family had the property for is irrelevant. When businesses expand they often move if the property is insufficient, they just do not build onto their neighbors without permission.

By the way, Mr. Bundy, if you're going to try to claim "ancestral" rights, then there's at least two ethnic groups I can think of whose "ancestral rights" go back a hell of a lot farther than yours, paleface.

No, then he would claim that the state doesn't exist and he is a freeman, and all that nonsense that tax cheating deadbeats say.

I'm amazed that anyone still backs this welfare queen thief.

It's not a US Govt flag.

Really?

Sometimes it is better not to reply, than to make a reply that is that stupid.

My leaving time for Nevada is getting closer.
I haven't gone the I-44 to I-40 connection for a while.
Maybe a trip up to Sandia Peak to overlook Albuquerque on the way back.

The idea of "ancestral" rights seems to be getting pretty hot.
Especially in Native lands in SD and NE in the way of eminent domain and the KXL.
Kobie's correct about the Native Indians having long-time rights in NV, but we all saw how that went in the 19th century .

If I raised your rent, based on a lie. How would you react?
If you're the landlord you can raise the rent for any reason you want in most states provided sufficient notice was given. If I don't like paying the rent I can move.

Too bad those who are so outraged aren't as outraged at welfare freeloaders, or workmans comp freeloaders, or healthcare freeloaders....
Most of those freeloaders aren't using militias to defend their right to freeload.

What a freakin' surprise, Cliven Bundy is a liar when he says "My rights are before the BLM even existed,"

So the farm has been receiving water since 1948?

Bundy has no rights here. He needs to pay his bills like an adult and move on.

That said, if cops try to invade his property, every one of them should be shot.

This is a money matter. Just put a lien on his land if he won't pay and move on.

So..... Bundy's claims of personal history are just as legitimate as Elizabeth Warren's, then?

There is no "that said" in this case.
A lien on his land will be ignored as with all other attempts beginning with Mr. Clinton.
Only Cops can enforce a lien, cops who you want shot down, even though the lien takes away ownership of the property.
Shame on you for advocating shooting cops .

You can always tell when righties are getting nervous over Sen. Warren--they start derailing any thread with lies about her personal history.
So..... Bundy's claims of personal history are just as legitimate as Elizabeth Warren's, then?
Please continue to defend scofflaw Bundy and his militia cowards like this until election day.
You won't see NRA/GOP leaders here .

Of course there is, I just said it.

Liens can't be ignored. The IRS just takes the money out of your accounts. There's no cops, just an IRS clerk thousands of miles away clicking a few buttons. They could freeze all his assets making him unable to even sell a cow until the bill is played. This fact allone establishes reasonable suspicion that the state is not acting in good faith.

Only Cops can enforce a lien, cops who you want shot down, even though the lien takes away ownership of the property.
If they don't respect due process, yeah, shoot them down. The whole reason we have the second amendment is to retain the right to kill governments who act tyrannical.

Shame on you for advocating shooting cops .
Oh grow up.

******
That being said, if the government begins acting apropriotly and following due process, and the 'milita' creates an armed resistance, I will volunteer to be sent in a Guard unit to kill them for insurrection. If you think your 'milita' of old fat retirees stands a chance against belt-fed grenade launchers and .50cal machine guns from MRAPS, good luck. It ain't nothin I haven't already seen in Afghanistan.

Whoever is acting within the law is in the right, but so far as I can tell both sides are braking the rules. Let them duke it out in the desert, then.

Right or wrong, Bundy is going to loose; but so can the state.

....and Harry Ried is a douche regardless.

Really...unless you can show me the American people's flag. I would expect you to understand the difference though.
