LAS VEGAS -- Local rancher Cliven Bundy may have his cattle back, but his supporters say they are still preparing for an imminent threat.

Militia groups from all over the country say they are flocking to the Bundy ranch to protect the family from a feared federal government raid.

The Bureau of Land Management allowed Bundy to release his cattle Saturday, after they felt threatened.

Bundy now has a whole contingent of armed guards surrounding him 24 hours a day.

How is this different than WACO?

Other than the fact the people are armed and blatantly threatening the Government, and the fact it is all a reaction to law enforcement....uh....enforcing the law?

This is not the intent behind militia, and will likely be bad for the 2nd.

Harry Reid said as much yesterday.

"Well, it's not over," Reid told Las Vegas TV station KRNV. "We can't have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So it's not over."

Reid is willing to start a war over rights to land he wants control over. He nothing but a thud mobster who happens to be the Senate majority leader.

Sending in troops is not how the government should be dealing with collecting fees.

It should be handled through the courts and when the land is transferred, then the government steps in an gets the monies they feel are owed + interest. NOT starting a civil war.

Harry Reid and family have personal interests in getting this land. You need to get informed.

Reid is certainly delusional but I'm sure he'll fight until the last rancher in Nevada is out of business.

Bad how, to protect and defend against a tyrannical move from the government. You telling me after all these years this is how the G "has" to act? I say let the war begin.

Nevadans (and others) who hate Bundy don't understand that this isn't about Bundy or grazing rights, it's about the Constitution. It's about states' rights, and a galactically overreaching federal power, with supporters like Reid who should be representing their state but aren't.

I think you just answered your own question.


It is one thing to stand up to your government, in fact it is your duty and responsibility under the Constitution. It is another thing to cause violent revolt and threaten force.....the obvious reaction would be a terrible slaughter backed by legal Government actions.

This is the very definition of bringing a knife to a gun fight.

The Government won...and in fact was born from it.

Trying to equate this situation to the revolutionary war is rather pathetic and just plain silly. If you by chance, do not see the differences or believe for some reason that a population revolting against foreign powers is akin to an extremely small part of the citizenry deciding to take up arms against it's own Government....there is not much to discuss here.

According to Infowars it's a Chinese funded solar power facility however Infowars isn't credible. I've read other news sorces, either Brietbart of the Blaze, who said that project which was being pushed by Reids son had been canceled and was a hundred fifty miles from the Bundy ranch. I'd believe Breitbart or the Blaze before I'd believe Alex Jones, however the Inforwars video of the confrontation was entertaining and there was a lot of
schedenfreude attached to watching the cowboys beat the Feds.

No...it was not "the Government". Local rule was being threatened by imperial rule from afar.

The entire revolution was based upon this historical fact. Once this threat was removed , local became federal.

No need to guess. Harry Reid landed a solar farm deal for the Dry Lake area and the Gold Butte region in question was named the "mitigation" land. Essentially, they plan to ruin one spot of land with a solar farm and named another spot (Gold Butte) protected land to balance it out. The turtles that they are trying to protect from cows (who lived happily together for at least 150 years) are only in trouble because of the solar facility to-be-built.
