Which will never happen. So all WE can do is adapt.
 
So it's not possible that there were issues and delays that didn't make it's way back to the POTUS? I'm not trying to excuse the President, it was his job to pick the right person to lead the rollout and his choice didn't work out. But ultimately the blame falls on Sebelius, it was her job.

I doubt she was fired. Maybe being a scapegoat finally got to her. She didn't write the damn plan - but she was expected to make the mess work? With Obama changing the rules all the time purely for political reasons, the job had to be a nightmare! Would you stay under those circumstances? I sure wouldn't, and while I have no love for her, she does have my sympathy. BTW, I find it hard to believe the numbers I'm hearing, either. Suddenly millions sign up, just when they're needed? Who said magic isn't alive and well! :mrgreen:

Hi Polgara !

She stuck with it until Obama spiked the football and no, I don't take this administrations data too seriously either.

Sebellius WAS a part of the problem and should, IMO be vilified extensively.

This law really hurt allot of Americans, and she stood right there and perpetuated the lies and misinformation while millions lost their plans and were forced to look for comparable policies at a much higher cost.

She should be held accountable for her actions.

Hell yes. She even hosted a party for Tiller and his staff at the Governor's Mansion in 2007. I kid you not. It came complete with pictures and everything. It's disgusting. SHE is disgusting.

From what I had read awhile ago (on my phone so have to pull links later) Sebelius was supposed to have the exchange development under her control, but it got moved to Medicare and Medicaid services because they didn't think they'd get the funds needed and the spending could be buried, making it harder for Republicans to try to stop the money flow

Supposedly the team got chopped up over a few different offices after the move, then you had the issue with Government contract process being terrible, thus getting the very poor company. That company was apparently under-staffing the project, and it was just a total mess. It didn't help that supposedly politics held back getting work done on the design of the site until 2012 (if memory serves me right). NPR did some pretty informative reports on it, and wish I had my links right now.

I'm not up on exactly all Sebelius did, from what I had read, it sounded like it was the project head, one of the major contracted companies, and the white house that was to blame for the site. For other issues, can't tell you.

Okay, got the link, it was actually the Washington Post, not NPR as I remembered (doh!), though NPR did some coverage as well more on the contract issue. They did have one about how CGI Federal (The one I couldn't remember the name of) and QSSI were not friendly, and CGI was understaffed. Both are fairly long, not pages long but not a few paragraph blurbs either (just to warn):

As for the general topic, the same article in the OP points out that the President want someone who was a better manager in charge of HHS and Sebelius felt it would be better to have someone in charge that doesn't draw the same amount of political ire. In other words, it is mostly about politics (which isn't surprising, everything in Washington (Democrat or Republican) is usually about politics imo.)

Of course she knew it was a mess. It was designed to be a mess. Most of the people that stumped for Obamacare knew it was a mess.

We lost a great States Woman America, but don't fret or give up, because Biden a living legend, who defines statesmanship is still there to help guide this administration. Sometimes we just have to let it be as we lose some of the good ones occasionally. Thank you Sebelius for your bold leadership and vision...

Sebellius is a parhetic excuse for a human being, let alone a "leader".

History will judge her alright. Just as its judged Politicians like Carter and Clinton and Kwame Kirkpatrick.
