Mass stabbing at US school.

This kid was obviously an amateur. Had he armed himself with a Bushmaster, like the kid in Connecticut, he could have had some real fun.

Or a machette.

Gun control at work! See no gun just a knife! Imagine if there were armed teachers there.... 20 less stabbing victims

How many were killed? That's the difference between a knife and a semi-automatic rifle. Knives are a lot slower and a lot less deadly in every respect.

You know that was my first thought too (I watch the show). Second thought was that someone decided to prove the anti-gun folks wrong.

It's truly sad.

How exactly were the anti-gun folks proven wrong?

"Mental health reform" has become the new cure-all mantra. All that will mean is more drugging kids.

The problem is lack of security at schools.

No, the problem is weapons in schools.

What number is required before a life is significant?

Do you have info on the claim of knives slower and less deadly?

No, the problem is weapons in schools.

That only scratches the surface but, the right people do not have weapons.

You can outrun somebody with a knife or a machete. Hard to outrun a bullet.

WTF?

20 people just got stabbed so, obviously, not everyone can outrun a knife.

Clearly it's the knife's fault and stricter regulations on long pointy objects is needed in the legislature. Now that I have that sarcasm off my chest, such occurrences identify an underlying mental health issue... America's lack of mental health structure simply treating people with pharmaceuticals and sending them home is not working. Mentally stable children from supportive homes do not go around stabbing or shooting others. The implement used is irrelevant - if it wasn't a gun it's a knife (as in this case) and if a knife wasn't available it would be something else like a hammer or a pipe or even a pen or sharp stick like a pencil. Time to shift the discussion away from inanimate objects and get to the source of the problem.

Uh oh! Mass Stabbings! Better make reasonable laws on restricting kid's access to knives! I'd suggest requiring safes with biometric locks for all knives larger than 2 inches. Also they should ban all felons (violent or not) from owning any knives.

Knife ban coming.

At least there was no armed security at the school. That would be evil and would take money from salary raises for the school administrators.

Children's lives don't mean anything to school administrations. Their lives aren't worth $1 to protect. They are just a bothersome overpopulation herd to most of them.

These people are Alinsky/Emmanuel followers. Not letting a good crisis go to waste, huh fellas?

They've been crying that there would be no mass incidents like these without guns. Sure enough, someone got creative.

Well that didn't take long...:doh

There's nothing so tragic that certain cretins can't make a partisan point out of it, is there.

What I think they said was that the chances of a mass killing were far less if guns weren't involved. So far they are right.

Tell that to the 8 kids who are in the hospital with deep puncture wounds to their abdomens.

Yeah, but they're alive, aren't they? How many kids survived being shot at Sandy Hook?

What?! there's partisan points going on at a political debate site - say it isn't so.

Sick! But they will never be the same which for some could possibly be worse.

Again, how many died? Some may wind up dying, and that's a tragedy. But compared to Sandy Hook, it isn't nearly as awful. The kids there were shot so many times many of the bodies were dismembered.

I find it interesting that people seize on this incident as a justification for their criticism of anybody who thinks automatic weapons shouldn't be available in elementary schools.

So a tragedy is is judged by the number of people die who via gunshots?
