Oregon Gov. hopeful links gay marriage with murder

not being tolerant of other people's views or opinions makes you intolerant please see the definition of tolerance.

Actually, the overwhelming majority of us are not, in fact, intolerant of your views. Do we disagree with them ardently? Absolutely. Intolerant? Not at all.

Who told you that everything must be tolerated?

I am intolerant of bigots. And there's nothing wrong with that. Like discrimination, the question is whether it is just.

I am discriminate and intolerant - justly so.

Actually I was thinking he could do something else with it.

If a rabbit's foot is the one thing that stands between a man and a murder/rape spree, let him keep the goddamn rabbit's foot!!!

I disagree with your word "strong".
I recognize the inflitration of the Aryan Nation into the Spokane area as well as the Mormon Nation moving in from Oregon.
I'm not there every day,
so I can't specifically measure the immigration/emigration with Alberta/British Columbia in other areas to the east of the Cascades.

Canada has the same deep divisions as we do.
As well, how many CA cons are moving in, and what effect will Pot have going forth ?
Seattle is in fact very blue. WA is a strong blue state as well.

Especially since it answered ludin's misstatement on Seattle and your misstatement on Oregon being "very blue", which it isn't .
Can you possibly imagine how little sense that makes, NIMBY?

we are not talking about intolerance we are talking about tolerance. the definition of tolerance is the acceptance of someone else's opinion or point of view whether you agree or disagree.

Not everyone's views or opinions are equally valid. If that makes me "intolerant," then I guess I'm "intolerant."

You're confused. Tolerance isn't the acceptance of your point of view, it's acceptance of your right to have that point of view.

And therein lies the rub. To many, "disagreement" and "intolerance" are synonyms.

ding ding ding

The reference escapes me.

at least you admit that you are discriminating and intolerant. if you would have read my post i am referring to people that claim to be tolerant but yet call this women a bigot. by calling her a bigot for her religious views then they themselves are being religious bigots.

they claim to be tolerant but they are only tolerant with people that agree with them which is not the definition of the word tolerant.

not correct

the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.

Intolerance =/= bigotry.

I discriminate and I'm intolerant, but I'm not a bigot.

Sorry Vermont, sorry Massachusetts, sorry Hawaii...Washington state (WA) has you all beat! And California?....your California wine may be more world renowned than Washington wines but your progressive politics can't even compare!

This past election with President Obama easily carrying the state 56% to 41% and with the passing of marriage equality and the legalization of marijuana has given, the State of Washington a rightful claim to the title of America's Bluest State.

America's Bluest of Blue States: WASHINGTON

Feel free to consider the source, but WA is pretty blue. Elections suggest it is so. Eastern WA and parts of Western WA are certainly red. But King County, home to Seattle as well as a total of about 1/3 of WA's population is VERY Blue.

I'm not tolerant. And I don't care. Bigots are not to be tolerated.

This is a good point. I might have to reconsider whether I am intolerant or not. While I oppose some viewpoints, I recognize others' rights to those viewpoints.

Would you like to try that again?

Bible, rabbit's foot, hippie healing crystals, it's all the same to me, and if it keeps someone on the straight and narrow then by all means let them keep it. We can't all make moral decisions based on empathy or the Golden Rule.

Intolerance =/= bigotry.

I discriminate and I'm intolerant, but I'm not a bigot.

it depends.

definition of a bigot.
a person who strongly and unfairly dislikes other people, ideas, e

it very much depends on how far you push your intolerance.
you can push yourself into the religious bigot realm by being intolerant of her views.

bigot doesn't just work one way like people think it does.

Is there any particular reason you've been playing word games for the last several pages, parroting the dictionary definition of "intolerant," rather than actually discussing something that matters?

Ah, okay, I caught what you were saying this time. You would still be incorrect, because if your behavior interferes with my life in any way, I'm not necessarily obligated to tolerate it.

He's trying to cover up the fact that he thinks Seattle is in Oregon.
