Yes, that is what is being announced. It seems that the GOP hope for demise of the ACA has failed miserably. I am not surprised. There is a precedent for them to be on the losing side and it seems to be pickling up steam...like the ACA

Washington (CNN) -- After a surge of sign-ups on the last day for open enrollment, Obamacare met the White House's original target of 7 million people signing up, White House spokesperson Jay Carney said.

To be exact, 7,041,000 people picked a plan on the government run exchanges.

"We surpassed everyone's expectations," he said at the White House daily press briefing.

President Barack Obama will address the milestone with a statement from the Rose Garden at 4:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

The big question is; will anyone hold the talking heads who guaranteed that the exchanges would not hit the 7 million number to account?

Also.. How good was the CBO prediction. Half a percent error? That's pretty insane.

Claiming failure on the part of Obamacare because of a badly made website was always a stupid strategy. Bad websites are designed, they tend to get fixed, life goes on.

What a completely doctored statistical lump of BS. Everybody knows this is an absurd lie.

And let's pretend for a make-believe moment it is true.

These are people who had insurance, had it taken away, and had to sign up again. These are young people who haven't/won't pay. These are people already in supreme need of costly healthcare. These are God knows how many liberals who gladly cancelled what they had to help the numbers. And these are curious and invested media types and others wanting to see if the website will work.

But wallow in fantasy world if it makes you feel good.

This is an infinitesimally small fraction of the 48 million uninsured that it was targeted for.

More like: "People who will believe anything."

They offer no proof, no statistics, no balance sheets, no way of verification.....and yet you believe them without question.

In green, not true.

Lowry pointed us to a report from McKinsey and Company, a large private consulting group. In early March, McKinsey released the results of a survey that found that of all the people who bought a new insurance policy, about a quarter of them said they hadn’t been insured for at least most of last year.

That sounds like Lowry had it right. Three-quarters of the sign-ups were people who already had coverage. That would qualify as "most people" in anyone’s book.

But there’s more to the survey.

McKinsey analysts make it clear that their study was about the individual insurance market as a whole, not specifically Obamacare marketplaces.

People are free to buy directly from insurance companies or through government marketplaces. Emily Hackel, a spokesperson for McKinsey, said analysts did not break down their results for people who specifically purchased insurance through Obamacare.

"If you’re looking to zero in on that, we don’t have that detail," Hackel said.

It’s not like the report buries this distinction. In fact, it makes the point three times. In the first paragraph, it states that the survey "included consumers who enrolled in health care coverage for 2014 (either on or off exchange)." There is no way to know how many respondents fell into each group.

So, the report Lowry cites doesn’t speak directly to his point.

Are we going to have a thread for every million that sign up?

Must be working, Fox web page is back on GM and Benghazi...

The funniest....Believing anything that little weasel Carney says.

Where's the beef?

Here in Austin they were telling people [who looked like they were bused in] they would get them signed up at a later date because the website wasn't working.

Are you impressed for some reason that government force is making people do as the government wants?

Fortunately, I think about 37 people in America believe this report, and all of them post here ironically.

A year ago the RW was dead set against people getting that free healthcare. What happened?

What is the RW? Oh and btw, stop using the word free. Getting other people to pay for your **** doesn't mean it's free.

A year or so ago the RWers were all worked up about them people getting that free healthcare. dont you remember? What happened? why the change of heart? Oh wait, Obama and the mandate, now people getting free healthcare (which really did happen under our old systme) is freedum itself. How bout jsut a little consistancy? My goodness, just the hyproicsy of the right is laughable.

Obama called the Chevy Cobalt a raging success, too. Do you also believe that one?

I guess if 7 million sign up for unemployment, that's a success too.

Let's see how many of these 7 mil are paying premiums in three, six, and twelve months.

Or perhaps a long-term pattern of absolutely consistent behavior.

... you mean Obama hasn't had any successes? ;)
