Obamacare enrollment hits 7 million

Better effort than the person I asked, but a blog?

Any way:

Fact #6: Almost half of the elderly would be poor without Social Security. Social Security lifts 14 million elderly Americans out of poverty.
Without Social Security benefits, more than 40 percent of Americans aged 65 and older would have incomes below the federal poverty line, all else being equal. With Social Security benefits, less than one-tenth of the elderly do. (See figure below.) The program lifts 14 million elderly Americans out of poverty.[18]
Almost 90 percent of people aged 65 or older receive some income from Social Security.[19] Those not receiving Social Security mostly comprise recent immigrants, state and local government retirees (and federal retirees hired before 1984) who are covered by separate retirement systems, people under age 66 with significant earnings, and people who are so seriously disabled that they never worked and also have never married.[20]

Policy Basics: Top Ten Facts about Social Security — Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

Cute, but immaterial ... you asked a specific question ... I answered it.

Do you want to discuss the propriety of Social Security now?

Thanks to Medicare which I was forced to take I lost my doctor of 22 years. Do you ever think with the brain you have or just with your heart? Medicare is trillions in debt, SS is trillions in debt but because you can find a politician that supports it that is good enough for you. One of these days you are going to realize how foolish you have been but then it will be too late, your dollar will be worthless.

What liberalism does is create dependence that you can never get out of. SS is and will always be a ponzi scheme but too many are dependent on it. It is a raw deal for families and it is broke because the money was stolen, I mean borrowed. Medicare is also broke but as long as the govt. prints money payments will be made. You liberals have quite a racket going

Sure you did. But if you couldn't pay him, you'd have lost him as well.

You did. But I'm showing the blog you posted was inaccurate.

Dependence is a liberal life line that keeps politicians in power. Are you one of those people? Your passion for ACA is quite telling.

That has done a great job making life better.

Better for whom? How many of those 7.1 million were uninsured. Tell people who had their insurance cancelled because of ACA and then saw their premiums and deductibles go up that they are better off

We'll learn more. Be patient. I try not to guess and look the fool. I'll wait and see what we learn.

Non-responsive reply.

Could be I am learning from you, now tell us all how ACA affects you and your family and why such passion for the law? How does the uninsured in TX affect you and your family or the people of Iowa?

We have learned quite a bit, in this age of modern technology and millions spent on the website that this Administration is totally incompetent and unable or probably more like it unwilling to give the people the information on who those 7.1 million people are. They have no problem touting any perceived success while burying anything that doesn't generate positive results for this President. This one doesn't pass the smell test except to Obama supporters who will defend this President's incompetence at the expense of their own credibility which apparently means nothing.

Nope. And as Christian, people suffering everywhere concerns me.

On this though, you're mostly just leaping to conclusions not supported.

Nope. And as Christian, people suffering everywhere concerns me.

Concerns me as well as it did with our Founders who promoted neighbor helping neighbor not a massive central govt. promoting spending in the name of compassion when the only compassion is to the bureaucrats that run the programs.

I am asking questions that you and others should be asking. Apparently your compassion doesn't extend to the 5 million Americans who lost their insurance due to ACA and were forced into ACA with higher premiums and deductibles.

Only that failed rather largely during the great depression. And in fact, we do better today.

You know, Boo, I have finally figured out liberalism. It doesn't take any guts at all to be a liberal for all you have to do is throw someone else's money at the problem and tell the world "see how much I care" The problem with liberalism is that spending in the name of compassion only generates compassionate results for the bureaucrats that run the programs because the costs outweigh the benefits and alternatives are never considered. Try a little exercise for me, take the money you have contributed to SS and your employer has contributed, put it into an investment calculator with a very simple interest rate and see how much you would have when you retire, do the same with Medicare. Then guess what, that money is yours and your families not the government's if you should pass away before use. Then and only then will you realize what a fool liberalism has made out of you

No, you're not. You're ranting, spouting bumper sticker slogans. Not asking.

You have been sold a bill of goods, FDR created SS with the idea that it would never be used as the life expectancy was 63 and retirement was 65. The LBJ put SS on budget and that money was spent on paying for the Vietnam War along with other programs the President and Congress deemed necessary. That money has been spent by other Administrations for years thus it is now trillions in unfunded liabilities but because you continue to buy the liberal rhetoric that doesn't matte. Now you want to give those bureaucrats more money to waste, I mean spend on entitlement programs that only create dependence on the govt.

Maybe you ought to pay a little more attention to bumper stickers because Obamacare is making you look foolish. You think spending in the name of compassion makes you look good but all it does is make you feel good for a short period of time as results never matter to you

Proving my ranting point so soon?

I pay taxes. So, relax. Taxes serve a purpose.

Again, the results. We're better off than we were. You can't effectively challenge that.

Yeah, they do, unfortunately not as our Founders envisioned, they do keep liberals in power and people dependent. From what I can tell they keep you employed

Guess it all depends on your definition of being better off. Spend enough money, create enough dependence and certainly some people are better off. Love that liberal compassion on the 250 billion spent each year to service the debt. How many people does that help in this country? Amazing how we all survived this many years without the help of liberals.

How do you know how the foundering fathers might have evolved had they lived through or history. They seemed to think progressively, fighting the authority of the time, and didn't seem to be closed minded nonthinking people. For all we know, they might have gone more liberal.
