Thousands of Gallons of Crude Oil Spills in Ohio Nature Preserve

Especially environmental pollution that may affect us through our ecosystems.

So in a contest between a drilling/transporting/refinement process that produces more environmental pollution and a drilling/transporting/refinement process that produces less, which one is preferrable?

It's not about the environment. It's about government control of the prvate sector.

It's never been about the environment...

I agree to disagree. The social Power to Regulate (private) Commerce is in our supreme law of the land.

Your argument is analogous to that advanced by gun lovers. Why do we have Any government control, if those Individuals were as responsible as they like to claim from public venues?

Nobody that I know of is suggesting that. I believe fusion may be more practical, in the long run.

 at some point, perhaps. Eventually solar will also become cheap, durable, and effective enough to be integrated into standard roofing material. Just not today or for a few years yet :).

One spill brings a demand to spend massive amounts of money to re direct the entire nation's energy needs, rather than upgrading the rotting backbone of the US pipeline network.

Meanwhile Obama is a hero for delaying the Keystone, which will be the most modern technology, while no one pauses to wonder why Canada has almost no spills with ten times the pipelines over the most rugged terrain in North America, and the US has so many spills.

Like most infrastructure in the US, I suspect some repairs are in order before re-inventing the universe.

that is exactly what solar is for. if every new home had a solar panel built on it it would provide much larger grid than building a full plant. the excess energy would be put back to the power grid. solar for core power use is well not feasible. it just takes to many panels and if you live in the north were 6-8 months out of the year you have cloud cover and snow it just doesn't work.

i know the next house i have i am going to put solar panels on along with a solar or geothermal water heater system. yes the cost will add onto the home but i think i can still get credits and other things from the fed, state, and power company for doing it.

since it will be the only house i ever build and plan to stay there then it is worth the effort and the money. i just have to sell the house i have now for the down payment.

In Only that contest, I would pick the fuel that produces the least negative impact on our environment.

We are not going to have train transport of the volume of oil a pipeline will bring and it isn't cost efficient to do so. So this is a strawman.

All it takes is money for fusion. So, if we are going to use Socialism to bailout Capitalism, why not do it for a fuel with a future.

If most of it is private, why isn't the private sector doing a better job than the public sector at "infrastructure"?

Which is the exact opposite of Tar Sands oil. It is the most expensive and polluting energy on the planet.

You need to catch up on the latest advances; all it requires now, is money.

I am caught up on what is going on with fusion power and you're full of it.

please provide proof, there is a working fusion rector..or the idea has been perfected, and only needs money.....instead of just telling me i need to catch up.

What the **** are on about?

Where the **** do I even mention "private"?

If you're going to bother me with quoting my posts, at least be relevant.

No, you're talking out of your ass.

We only need an equivalent to a Manhattan Project to make it happen in eight years or less.
