Crimea votes to join Russia[W:223]

Poor comparison. A Constitutional Presidential election versus an Unconstitutional and potentially fraudulent vote for secession.

People don't like the results and dismiss them as irrelevant because 95% want to go with Russia. Somehow I think that if only 25% had voted that way and embarrassed Putin, this referendum should have been very relevant!

He and many like him think Obama only lies about his supposedly progressive agenda and being "weak." Things like this, not a chance.
 
Putin looks like a silly sophomore with his follow-the-Obama sanctions tomorrow.
However, the EXXON/MOBIL CEO looks like a traitor opposing sanctions on his buddy Putin.
It's also looking like Mr. Kissinger is being listened to .

95 percent of people can't agree on the color of grass. I expect and am amused when Iraqi elections or North Korean elections have 95 percent victory. That's what a cheap dictator does. When it comes from Russia , I am disappointed.

I expect better. When did the Russians become a bunch of amateurs? If you're gonna rig an election, at least make it believable. 75/25 is where it's at.

US would have done the same if they would be in Russian position.
(Assuming in place of Russians would be the US) Unless Putin, who sent straightly troops with no signature in Crmiea, they would have spend couple of weeks condemning the new government of Ukraine 24h on TV as illegitimate, they would have used all legal spaces to make an intervention legal, they would gather 54 allies to follow them, they would use the "democracy" as a justification and after a couple of months they would sent the troops ..... or wait, the missiles.

Putin is acting just as a normal world power would do.

Crimea has voted on this before and its gone both ways, very closely.

But the Russian military invades, occupies the countries, brings ballots already pre-marked voting to join Russia (according to the White House), and then announce they won the election with 95% of the vote.

And you say "WOW! EVERYONE IN CRIMEA HAS VOTED TO JOIN RUSSIA!"

That it is a 95% of those who voted is self proving it is a total fraud.

And somehow I think that if the US invaded a country and held a referendum that resulted in OVER NINETY FIVE PERCENT OF THE VOTERS supporting something the US supported, you'd rightly say that was complete bull****. 95%? And you accept that as real?

It could be even as high as 60%. Maybe 65%, in some crazy world. But NINETY FIVE? lol, Monte: if you said you'd think it was legit if it was pro-US, you're a liar.

If Albania send troops in Kosovo (which they do have an agreement, smth like Russia and Crimea had) and there is a referendum for Kosovo to join Albania, I do not see how the Kosovo people would felt threatened.
Crimeans always felt Russians. Why is such a surprise.

Like I said, had it been 25/75 you guys would be all over it. You just don't like the results. Anyway, it doesn't matter. This is Putins show, US/EU involvement and support of the violent overthrow of the Ukrainian government, gave Putin all the legitimacy he needs.
