Gay couples, ACLU seek Fla. marriage recognition[W:134]

Do you think you'll ever be trusted once people realize that you would go this far?

I knew of a situation where an applicant for a job had been involved in a dispute over raises. She felt one race got preference when it came to raises. She lost the case and decided to look for different job but once the word got out no one wanted to take a chance on her. Her right to have a legal review of her situation caused a very talented worker that should be well paid ended up in a position well below her skill level. We need to realize that you may have the right but there may be consequences for pushing an issue.

Er...okay, I'll bite: when the ACLU is invoked, what is, in fact, up?

Someone or group is trying to legally force an issue regardless of the people it may offend or hurt. In a lot of cases they win the legal battle because the other side doesn't have the funds to fight the argument. Under those circumstances you put a line between people because you can't be trusted, you become a bully.

And as such, dont they deserve not to be discriminated against and denied benefits and privileges in things like marriage and adoption and hospital visiting rights?

My argument with homosexuals is forcing the marriage issue. I was always in support of the same rights but they didn't have to foul marriage in the process.

I know you are old enough to remember the struggle, how 'unpopular' the civil rights movement was for blacks....so your argument is just crushingly, ignorantly hypocritical. Your post could apply to that word for word.

When something is right, it's right. There is no good reason that gays should be discriminated against....none.

That makes no sense...they have the same right to marriage then too.

And you never explained to me (no one has) how gays could possibly foul marriage more than other sinners like fornicators, adulterers, felons in jail....and the Bible says to treat all those sins the same.

Why was there no outrage, no fight against those sinners marrying?

More hypocrisy, esp. since it harms no one else's marriages at all.

There are many valid reasons but if your not willing to learn and that's your happy place, then be happy larry. You've settled on a narrow progressive view of the situation then there's no point discussing it?

That's your opinion there are many of us who still consider homosexuality as a form of perversion. That opinion would easily help someone to reach the opinion that marriage has been fouled. I can never accept homosexuals because of this and what will be coming next. The legal assault on our churches.

My argument with homosexuals is forcing the marriage issue. I was always in support of the same rights but they didn't have to foul marriage in the process.

With an almost 50% divorce rate amongst HETEROSEXUALS, I'd say heterosexuals have already fouled up marriages. Saying homosexuals would foul up marriage (just by being married) is just an idiotic comment.

ACLU = there is no freak too freaky, there is no homosexual too homosexually, there is no color too colorful, there is no woman to masculine, there is no junkie too pathetic, there is no law too strange etc., etc, etc,.................................................................................

So what do you think of them when they support Christian rights?

yep!
the writing's on the wall and clear as day

soon this wont be news, soon there wont be rights to fight for on this issue

Don't bet on it. It's not over by a long shot, they'll find something else their lacking and fight for that. Victims stays victims permanently. Who knows what they'll come up with next, but just you wait they will. Frankly I don't care if you get married, I just know this isn't over.

Your opinion is not relevant to the fact rights are not mitigated by how it makes you feel. As for the legal assault on churches, many of the same people in favor of legally recognized marriage would fight on the side of churches to maintain their own rights. We see this in interracial marriage where the same arguments were made. Churches are not forced to marry any couple they don't want to for any reason. That is a fact.

Um, pretty sure Newt Gingrich already accomplished that. Ironically enough, he wrote a piece of legislation "protecting" marriage.

I know you think your bulletizing approach is impressive, to those who care. I don't care, nor am I phased by it. I said what I had to say on it, and I know you got it. Mission accomplished.

translation: you cant answer the questions or back any of it up, got it.
Let us know when you can.

No civil liberty too trivial.

You forgot to number your bullet points and capitalize your letters. How can I possibly cope? Hey, I made a prediction, and time will tell if I'm write or not. Live with it.

Of course it's not over. The same-sex marriage fight will be over when same-sex marriage is legal nationwide.

I didn't say fouled it up, I said fouled it.

Your argument is one of the typical one always made in defense of homosexual marriage but it doesn't fly in the face of the facts. Homosexuality is not a race issue it's the dumbing down of morality to make a very small group feel included at any cost.

Um, pretty sure Newt Gingrich already accomplished that. Ironically enough, he wrote a piece of legislation "protecting" marriage.

There isn't an argument that over rules morality including heterosexual immoral behavior.

I'll let you know when they do.
