A pediatric cancer charity is offering to pay for 7-year-old cancer survivor Josh Hardy to receive lifesaving medication that could cure him of a potentially deadly virus.
But Chimerix, the pharmaceutical company that produces the medication, is still refusing to give Josh the treatment he so desperately needs. In fact, a representative for the charity said he tried speaking with Chimerix CEO Kevin Moch about Josh's case - but Moch hung up on him.

It's not approved by the FDA.

This means one thing - it's not the CEO that's putting the kai-bosh on this. It's the gaggle of Big Pharm lawyers covering their asses saying no.

It's not approved by the FDA. This means one thing - it's not the CEO that's putting the kai-bosh on this. It's the gaggle of Big Pharm lawyers covering their asses saying no.

According to the report that company has given hundreds of doses away and the CEO is reported to have claimed he put a stop to it because the company couldn't afford it.

That's not exactly what I'm reading.
Thousands beg company to give medication to sick boy

It seems that the drug is still in clinical trials and that this kid doesn't match the criteria for those trials.
