Who doesn't want to rule the world, the US?
Of course not.

[h=1]Obama warns US will 'isolate' Russia
if Putin doesn't pull back in Ukraine[/h]
Obama threatens to
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the time for warnings is over. The article says they are considering what steps to take. Why don't they already KNOW what steps to take? Why are no contingency plans for this in place already? If our intelligence didn't see this coming? Why not?
I blame our intelligence community. We spend billions of dollars to get a heads up on this type action. What happened?
Russia does not need the IMF, Ukraine does. Russia was offering Ukraine money instead of them having to go to the IMF for a loan

Some people actually believe this. Humorous yet depressing at the same time.I believe you're right on target. We have a president that hates America, opposes American exceptionalism and believes that all the bad things that have happened in the past 100+/- years are the fault of The United States.

From what Pentagon officials have said Nato military options are few and far between.
We believe it, because the evidence exists.

After listening to McCain, Graham, Bolton and Rogers just today, I hear the same war drums as I did during Iraq.
I also heard a few words from GWB in 2001 extolling the virtues of Putin.
How do you view the constant GOP criticism of Obama DURING a crisis and its effect on Putin .
Russia's economic situation isn't very good, and since it's 60 billion in losses on it's markets and only a half trillion in central bank back up, economic sanctions could really hurt Russia. However, Russia is the lynch pin to solving the Syrian crisis and a major player in Iran nuke negotiations. The question is, does the US and EU want to throw both of those ME issues out the window and burn any bridges leading to Moscow over the Ukraine?

No everyone. I do not want to a nuclear arms race by second tier countries. I don't care really about the Crimea. I do care that it now is impossible to make any nuclear disarmaments treaty/agreement or non-proliferation treaty with any country as they are now known to be nothing but trickery by the major world powers.

Any action we take will blow back on us like almost every other time we get involved in this sort of ****.
Put plainly, we need to skip the bar fight and fix the ****ing roof.

Don't you think that China would gladly relieve Russia of that oil and gas?
The World has plenty of sources of oil and gas.
A little rationing to get by blockading of ALL Russian goods wouldn't hut the World.
But it would hurt Russia, deeply.
And the G-7 could reform in June .
As for the EU to fix, the USA lost countless thousands of merchant seamen before we actually joined WW2.If they're pushing intervention, they should be ignored. This one is on the EU to fix.
I encourage Russia to take your advice.
Once you lose a customer, it's tough getting them back.
And, how's he gonna pay for Sochi?
And he's now probably lost the G-8 summit in Sochi.
When the IMF cuts off funds, we'll see how bellicose Putin is .
We'll see. It all takes time to divert oil and gas destined to someplace else. Then there is the cost factor as oil prices rise. I doubt if europe will push it too far, especially if Russia threatens to cut off the oil and gas.
