Texas Gay Marriage Ban Latest to Be Struck Down[W:97]

I don't see you fighting for my marriage or my opinion.

You have your marriage and your opinion. I'm fighting for more people to have theirs. No one is trying to take your marriage away from you.

[I'm not of any denomination FWIW]

I'm fully aware of the State and statist positions. But, they butted their heads into that union despite my opinions, even to go as far as to spit on the will of the voters.

The will of the voters is meaningless because of the Constitution. The Constitution protects individual freedoms from the will of the majority, either direct voting or by their representatives. Just as it did several other times when it comes to marriage.

Religion does not own marriage. You do not own marriage.

Why should she? No one is trying to prevent you from being allowed to marry. If you're going to debate about ssm, at least know who's doing what.

I'm just holding myself back from calling her a bossy, opinionated wench. ;)

LOL Why because I know that you do not own the sole definition of marriage and neither does your religion (or anyone's for that matter) and I aim to keep it that way? The marriage we are and always are discussing when it comes to same sex marriage and the bans by the states is state marriage, not religious/personal marriage. In the US, those two are separate. They may have some overlaps for some or even many couples, but legally those overlaps are not important.

No one needs to fight for your marriage. You have not proven how your marriage is affected in any way, and you CHOSE to have the state recognize your marriage, no one forced you to do so. YOu could have just had a ceremony in your church and be recognized by God. Why did you choose to include the state too? How do they validate your marriage?

Those 'victims' were given the choice of a civil union or some other sort of domestic partnership

something sacred: something considered to be sacred or to have a special significance

GOT IT?

Lying is a sin WCH. I thought you were above sinning. About 20 states banned civil unions in their constitutions. Texas is one of them. Indianan folks on your side tried to start the process to ban civil unions in Indiana just last month. Gay rights folks did not pass any of those bans. It was your side. I do not know why you lie WCH, but if you keep it up people are going to start calling you a liar. You better repent now and admit your sin. Or are you a hypocrite as well?

That is an understanding based in your faith. We don't all follow THAT faith and should not be forced to not to mention that it does not dictate our laws.

....but will allow the nation's second-most populous state to enforce the law....

very good thats what the first paragraph and my OP says lol

his ruling is currently allowing the ban to stay pending 10th Circuit Court of Appeals (WY, UT, CO, KS, NM, OK) since it already hearing a case on this matter and his ruling could be appealed to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals (TX, LA, MS) and both may very well go to SCOTUS which is awesome

anything else :)

God's Wrath on Unrighteousness

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,[a] in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

ya that bit of scripture has some self evident lies in it people have clearly believed in gods for a long time but its not clear that any exist

pretty sure its not clear god is making people gay because they like idol worship either

Paul is not God or Jesus.

The OP.

The celebration is a bit premature. The domino hasn't fallen yet.

I think he is more intrigued by the various cases. But you are right. All of this across the country is for naught if SCOTUS does not make a favorable ruling. But it does give some sense of vindication as court battles are fought on the basis of reason and evidence, rather than emotional appeals to the masses.
