The Hillary Papers

Re: HILLARY EXPOSED (yuck)

Ah, the ACA. A prime example of the elites of Washington thinking they know what is better for the people than the people themselves. That the people do not have enough brains, intelligence, common senses to figure out what is best for them without Washington telling them. A case of Washington forcing something on the people they did not want and still do not want. Hail the elites in Washington.

:allhail: And that's the last one they'll get from me!

Re: HILLARY EXPOSED (yuck)

You will always have your inflexibles in both parties. But Hillary seems to be the kind who will try to get payback. Perhaps the question is in order to get what she wanted as President, would she be willing to compromise and perhaps receive 75% of what she wanted and give the other side 25% to get them to come along. Percentages just an example. I have no doubt that she is a very intelligent woman.

Can you give examples that lead to this belief.

Sometimes people are stupid and actually can't figure out what's best for themselves. Examples:

Anti-seatbelt people
Anti-vaccers
Smokers
Republicans
Flat earthers
Young Earth Creationists

All examples of people holding beliefs are are objectively incorrect, harmful, and stupid.

Re: HILLARY EXPOSED (yuck)

Lets face it when (Slick Willie) was president Hillary over and over again and we all know she stuck by him for political reasons...He treated her like a door mat....If I did the things Bill did my wife would be gone in a NY minute after she castrated me.........Seriously any woman would leave under those circumstances. Do we really want a woman like this elected president...I think not.

Re: HILLARY EXPOSED (yuck)

I agree with all of this, except the Nixon part. I believe he was much better than given credit. In retrospect, I also believe Gore would have been better than Bush and Romney *possibly*, over Obama.

Hilliary is fairly smart, and probably becoming more pragmatic and flexible than many idealistic Dems.

God help us if Gore was ever elected president....He was one of the most clueless people I have seen in my lifetime........Oh wait he invented the internet.:lamo

Fun fact: Much like Sarah Palin's "see Russia from my house" meme, Gore never actually claimed to have invented the internet.

Inflexables of both parties, start with Reid and McConnell. Reid tables almost everything coming over from the house although the senate has the power to add, delete, change, amend any bill. This process was normal until recently. McConnell, he like to filibuster everything only because the democrats want it. Both put their party way above America.

Ah, so 53% of all Americans are stupid. Less than 10% of the people do not use seatbelts, probably a lot less. A minority. Less than 20% of Americans now smoke and that is dropping. Flatearthers, I doubt if anyone believes the earth is flat today. But back before Columbus the whole world believed it. But the knowledge wasn't there. So this is quite a stretch. Republicans, they only make up 24% of the electorate. Democrats make up but 29%.

But none of the above approaches 53%. So all of these people, over half of all America are harmful, stupid and incorrect. I have one better, would you say 51% of all Americans were harmful, stupid and incorrect because they voted for President Obama? Of course not, but I am sure the republicans would. I tend to believe most Americans are smart enough to know what is best for them. When it comes to political beliefs and agenda's, the majority of Americans will come down on the democrats side on some and the republicans on others.

Oddly, not one mention of anything Hillary has done in this post.

Well, yes, when you a number out of your ass it might seem odd.

Also, Columbus was not some pioneer of the round earth concept. Basically everyone knew the earth was round by then. In fact, Columbus was a dip**** who grossly underestimated the size of the earth despite the actual size being well-known by then. Then he murdered a crapload of people, died still thinking he'd found India, and we gave him a holiday to commemorate his discovery of a continent people were already living on and Vikings had been to centuries earlier.

It never takes long to get to the ACA does it.
Though not supporting Mrs. Clinton THIS time, at least she wouldn't prostrate herself to Ted Kennedy over ACA in order to get his support.
Anyway, why should the GOP have all the fun fighting with each other.
Meanwhile, you unattached folks can sit back and vote 3rd party .

You betcha Linc, Good Morning to you. As for third parties, it all depends on who the candidates are. Remember in 2008 I did vote for McCain although I almost voted for Barr. Bob Barr was a congressman here in Georgia before he was the Libertarian Presidential Candidate for 2008. I did vote for John Edwards in the 2004 Georgia Democratic Primary because I really disliked Kerry. I also voted for McCain in the 2000 Georgia Republican Primary mainly because I didn't like Bush. I have voted in every presidential election beginning in 1964, my votes went to 5 Republicans, 2 Democrats and 6 Independent/third party presidential candidates. So if one of the two major parties do not nominate a knucklehead, I can support them.

Statewide beginning with Senators and Governors, outside of a couple of Libertarian candidates for senate and one for governor, it has been Republican or Democrat the rest of the way down. All the two major parties has to do is get their act together and nominate someone reasonable and I will vote for them at the presidential level. I can't help it if they want to parade a bunch of knuckleheads as their presidential nominees.

You're right, I pulled the numbers out of my head for seatbelts, flatearthers, etc. If the Democrats want my vote in 2016, I suggest they nominate Schweitzer the Montana Governor who is thinking about running, perhaps a Jay Nixon, Missouri or even maybe a Diane Finestine if you must nominate a woman. On the Republican side, a Jeb Bush or a Bobby Jindal are two I could support, not mentioned as running, a Condi Rice if they must nominate a woman but my favorite woman above all would be Susana Martinez of Governor or New Mexico.

Re: HILLARY EXPOSED (yuck)

The sad thing is. If the GOP don't come up with someone better then the current crop they have then we'll be stuck with Hillery.

Which is not a claim of invention. He was speaking of his work in Congress, where he did sponsor two key bills that helped create the internet as we know it.

Well ... actually ... I suppose if you stand on your head and squint real hard after tossing back a few shots you could say that Hillary showed incredible flexibility seeing as how she was strongly in favor of a Single-Payer Healthcare system and then told the NYT she never considered one.
Then again once you got sober, stood upright, and opened your eyes you'd realize she was really just lying to the NYT.

Although I do understand the sentiment.

I did vote for McCain in 2008 and Georgia went for him. In 2012, I had lost total faith in Obama and I didn't trust Romney. Which one was the lesser of two evils? Regardless of who won, we still would end up with evil in the White House at least IMO. I voted for Gary Johnson for the simple reason he was the best candidate available and I wanted him to win. I wanted both Obama and Romney to lose. But I hardly ever get what I want, at least politically.

I had lost total faith in Obama and I didn't trust Romney. Which one was the lesser of two evils?
... and then violate my point ... that was really a very easy choice especially having experienced the 1st 4 years
