Iran sending warships close to US borders[W:623]

Re: Iran sending warships close to US borders

There's 76 million people in Iran. I know you didn't know that, but your few thousand protesters constitute a very tiny minority. And your wrong about Syria too!

MY few thousand protesters? Lol!

Regardless, whenever SHTF, they call for our help. This is not new.

What the US supported in Libya:

Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links
Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi's regime.

Re: Iran sending warships close to US borders

Maybe we should go back to when the Iran-Contra affair happened and walk through what actually happened during the Reagan years to the present. I remember the Beirut bombing and after that we got sucked into the problems of the middle east. And remember in those days we were not living in the police state we find ourselves in today.

This does not negate my point though. The point is when there are issues that need solving, who gets called to get involved? WE do. Do any other countries? Not so much.

The US has been menacing the ME for one hundred years.

The US instigates these problems. You still have failed to grasp the policy of destabilisation in the ME. Sorry for you.

As did the French and Brits, among many, many others. AND countries in the ME have been menacing one another too.

True. And that's what makes it right for you. Lmao.

Re: Iran sending warships close to US borders

It's kind of weird feeling like I'm posting in the quarantined area of the forum. It's not really that bad; I've heard it was really horrible before, but I've only gotten a glimpse of that.
That used to be the area that was the most toxic here. It's such a divisive issue that can only get fixed in the ME itself.

That's one of the problems with foreign policy. Whenever something interesting or important happens, you suddenly have a swarm of experts who probably couldn't identify a country on a map or name more than two actors in a given conflict. The rest of the time it's a little boring, and there's no one new to talk with.
Foreign policy is very difficult, it involves diplomacy but requires the implied threat of punitive action at the exact same time. I know if I were in a position in D.C. requiring global decisions the appointment of Secretary of State and other ambassadors would be my most difficult, and they would be my most vetted positions because of the balancing act t requires.

Seriously! You need links to know that the US CIA toppled the Iranian government in 1953. You need links to know that Iraqi WMD's and mushroom clouds over US cities was a fabrication. Do you need links to know that the US has been using al Qaeda to further its agenda in the ME? Dear lord.

Re: Iran sending warships close to US borders

True. And that's what makes it right for you. Lmao.

No one ever said it was "right." It's just history.

Are you okay? I was talking about Libya and Syria asking us for help, and you stated that we were involved. I asked for links, and now you're back to Iran again.

Here's the conversation. Jeez! Try to follow along will you buddy?

Re: Iran sending warships close to US borders

Destabilization ?? Don't have that in America. Just in my daily pursuit of happiness. What were we doing that made you want to send explosives into a Marine Barracks. Is that some way to be. Unless you have something to balance the scale.

Re: Iran sending warships close to US borders

And not so long ago the Middle East was considered a third world country. In text books and things.

Where in that did you specify Libya and Syria? You didn't! I said ME, and you asked for links.

The Middle East is not a country, but the countries in the Middle East always were 3rd world, until the US gets finished with them. Is their such thing as 4th world.

If the US is so bad to you, why stay?

I'm too lazy or just don't care enough to read back more than a page or two on a thread like this. But just reading back that far. . . .what happened to the Iranian ship off the U.S. coast?

Don't think it is there yet....

The latest news I could find about the Iranian "navy" was from four days ago:

LONDON – The Pentagon in Washington offered a remarkably sanguine response this week to an announcement by Iran that its warships were headed towards the United States’ maritime borders.

"We are not concerned about their announcement to send ships into the Atlantic,” Colonel Steve Warren, the Defense Department spokesman, told reporters on Monday. “Freedom of the seas applies to every nation."
