I have never smoked marijuana, but I support legalizing it 100%. I don't think that this article that you have shared proves that these accidents happened because of marijuana use, and if (in some small chance) these accidents did occur because of marijuana use, they're still significantly less than alcohol use. With that said cannabis can help millions of people with chronic pain, cancer, anxiety, severe migraines, and multiple other illnesses and problems in a natural way, as opposed to becoming addicted to overly priced narcotics offered by doctors that are addictive. Research has actually proven that cannabis use (in all avenues, including cooking) helps to reverse cancer growth and lowers high blood pressure. With everything good there is bad. People will be irresponsible with marijuana in the same way that people are irresponsible with alcohol and prescription drugs.
You are aware that a good chunk of the population is high all of the time and you have no idea, right? It's an unfortunate stereotype that everyone that uses marijuana becomes stupid when it fact that is 100% false. Besides legalizing marijuana wouldn't mean that you have to use it.
I had a very jaded point of view about marijuana a few years ago until I researched it further and realized that we're doing a severe injustice to ourselves by not legalizing, regulating, and selling/taxing it everywhere in this country. I've dealt with people that were high that I wanted to strangle because they made me crazy how incoherent they were, and I've also dealt with people I had no idea were high until I found out later. I then started realizing that these people that annoyed the crap out of me were also flaky and stupid people when they were not high. I wholeheartedly believe is a person by person basis, and not the plant itself.
Good lord, where have you worked? For five and a half years I was a designer for the Sherwin-Williams Paint Company and worked with contractors that were high every single day. I had coworkers that were high every single day and not once did I EVER run into a situation where ANYONE got hurt or hurt someone else because of marijuana. Alcohol, on the other hand, was a different story. What was worse were the Lortab and prescription pills these people were buying off of the street and using. THOSE created the biggest problem. Wherever you worked that had that many casualties because of marijuana must be one hell of a made up place!
That's a completely inaccurate and false statement based solely off of ill-informed uneducation. That is a damn shame that you're choosing to be so ignorant.
