Christie Linked to Knowledge of Shut Lanes

Mine eyes have shifted to Gov. Beshear in KY.
I still like Christie and would vote for him over Clinton.
His approval rating is miles ahead of Paul and McConnell in KY, both of whom are barely ahead of Obama in KY.
Clinton needs put out to pasture .

Mornin' MMC--another 6 inches and counting overnight--the thaw will be frought with dangerous flooding.
Mornin' Bob. Yeah I know it has.....other than for the fact of the Press. Which when event are held with No press. Then Just who shows up to leak what someone said, pretty much puts that all into perspective.

While all can agree such has gone on from the beginning.....none can deny what these Two parties are able to do. By Influence alone.
Do you really think the totality of New Jersey events doesn't rise to the level of our jailbird govs, Ryan and Blago?
I can always count on our Tribune to fairly pounce on all skunks.
Christie is in over his head with his connections to the DEM Mob bosses .

So far 9-10 inches of snow out by me Nimby and Mornin" to you too......Nah.....Joisey Politicans are lightweights when it compares to the Corruption of Chicago.

Yeah the Tribune is pretty good going after All sides.....but their own. Course they don't mind dumping on us, their own.

On Friday, the New York Times blasted out a seemingly explosive story about New Jersey governor Chris Christie and the ongoing "Bridgegate" scandal. The story said that David Wildstein, a Port Authority official, "said on Friday that the governor knew about the lane closings when they were happening, and that he had the evidence to prove it."

But then the Times changed the lede of the story:

Here, preserved for posterity, is our extremely crude Photoshopped-together comparison of the two ledes side by side. The one on the top is the original one. The one on the bottom is the changed one.

Here Is The NY Times Christie Tweak That Drove Twitter Crazy (UPDATE)

I think the fact that few Republicans haven’t rushed to defend him probably shows they really didn’t want him as their presidential nominee to begin with. American may be right, he may be more of a product of the media than Republicans themselves. I do not know if Christie is toast, especially if it is proven he wasn’t behind the lane closures and really didn’t know. But even so, he is probably damaged goods. But two years is a long time to recoup some of his standing among the American electorate.
The lane closures will not put him away, unless there is corroborated evidence he planned them or covered them up.
I'm more concerned about the MOB-style gangster tactics with Hurricane Sandy money and misappropriation of funds.
I could see a President Rand Paul commuting CC's sentence in 2021 after being elected to his second POTUS term .

It's a "show me the money" moment. At least, it should be.

Not to divert, but how about this blow-up between Rutherford and Rauner.
I would seriously consider Rutherford since he is an honest and down-state Republican.
It looks like we'll have an investigation.
So, Rauner is back with his multi-million dollar ads against Quinn, who is my default vote .

Getting ahead of ourselves a bit here aren't we. I would like to see 2014 in the books before we even begin on 2016. Although it is fun, Ryan, Jeb Bush and Huckabee have overtaken Christie in the latest polls on the republican nomination. Paul is 5th and Cruz 6th.

Yeah.....I heard. Was waiting to hear Joe Walsh and his show since he will be talking about both.

Still what is this about Christie denying that some guy was his friend.....I am sure emails or past photos will bear that out.

Since this thread is about Christie, I'm safe to say his goose is cooked.
FOX is doing its best to keep their eyes on their prize, damning Obama, while MSNBC is fixated on CC.
It's like two parallel universes, and my remote is the wormhole between them .

I haven't got that one either.
Jack Hayes is our resident expert on defending CC and has a few threads going.
He is back to using the "bridge study" as a defense. :peace

lol, he decides to tell us he has "evidence" the Friday before the Super Bowl, which is coincidentally being held in New Jersey this Sunday.

But that evidence won't be shown to us until next week.

God bless you, New York Times, for setting the standard in ethical journalism.

No year is ever in the books, now being the "age of revision".
One more day of Christie is one less day of ACA faux outrage.
Don't you love that Southern drawl of Gov. Beshear?

The evidence will not be shown until he gets immunity .

Did you notice Reince Priebus reinstituting the "unofficial" gag order on the GOP after Huckabee's libido rants?
Huckabee did what he needed to do and is now a player again.
Huck is all in and is fund-raising off of women's libidos .

Maybe he's making entries in his diary. I sincerely hope, since he's made the charge, it's a little better than that.

No surprise there. Different audiences and both channels are trying to please their audience. Sometimes it seems like the DNC is running one and the RNC is running the other. I think the independent voter wanted Christie a whole lot more than the Republicans did. Anyway, independent favorable/unfavorable ratings for Christie as of a couple of days ago were 29/44, before bridgegate last December they were 46/28. That is a huge toll and a gigantic shift over bridgegate. But Hillary's favorable/unfavorable are 36/52 among independents only today and they were 34/55 last December. A slight up tick but she isn't seen too favorable either. Perhaps another election of nose holding for independents is in the make.

If Wildstein and CC's campaign manager corroborate, DEMs and ACA will fly under the radar and keep the Senate,
since this will be ongoing through the election.

Since both these guys took the 5th, there must be something there.
His campaign manager Stepian ran McCain's campaign, so I consider that a BFD .

Hillary can take a big figurative jump off of Christie's bridge.
I'm way more interested in Gov. Beshear's huge positive ratings in KY, compared to Rand Paul and McConnell.

Yeah, I have noticed since Bridgegate has taken front page in the news that the president's approval rating has rose from 39 to 43%. With Bridgegate occupying most of the news those for/against the ACA has changed from 38/55 before bridgegate to 38/52 today. It is interesting to note when the ACA passed congress back in November of 2009 those for and against were almost identical to what we have today, 38/53. 4 years and so little change in the public's perception and their feelings towards the law.

Yet the voters love the Medicaid Extension, even the GOPees.
Christie has tried to dance the two-step on ACA also.

Ask folks overall, and the numbers are still negative.
Ask the folks about each specific part of ACA, the numbers are almost all positive.
Kind of like their own congressman.
Something this big will take years to work out.

Remember what sangha said, the "way" it passed is over.
As Linc says, "Present Moment Awareness" .

Here is the latest independent favorable/unfavorable ratings among the Republicans since I gave you Christie's and Hillary's. Jeb Bush 27/36, Cruz 23/37, Huckabee 30/40, Paul 32/37, Ryan 24/42. Now on the Democratic side besides Hillary the independent favorable/unfavorable ratings for Biden are 26/53 and Warren at 17/28. Like I said, 2016 looks like another nose holder for the independent voter. There isn't a candidate around, at least being touted by the media as possible running in 2016 that independents like or view them more favorable than unfavorable.

I doubt this will last that long. This is fodder only as long as nothing more important is on the table. It may be important for Christie, but beyond that it has no legs. I don't think the kerfuffle over some lane closures translates into anything meaningful for national politics other than the fact that Christie may or may not be involved. If he is involved, he's done nationally. If not, then he may have a national future, but that was not a certainty to start with in spite of all the hoopla to the contrary.

I'm with you on Hillary, the anointed one. I really haven't seen much on KY outside of a couple of senate polls.

Perhaps, I know there is no going back. But I will not back or vote for any candidate who supports it. Forcing something on the American people who did not want is completely wrong and as far as I am concerned, more unethical than Christie's bridgegate. This was pure party wants over American wants. party first politics, loyalty to party which included giving bribes to certain senators to get them to vote for it when arm twisting didn't work. The cornhusker kickback and the LA purchase.

For the life of me, I can't understand how you and Sangha can be so proud as to force a minority's will onto the majority. The ACA wasn't some civil rights legislation or something dealing with equal rights, it was nothing but a pure party agenda that jumped in and passed something that the majority of Americans view as against their will and well being. The party elites, the elites of Washington who are saying they know better what is good for Americans than Americans themselves. Those dumb American people, they know nothing. Us elites will have to save them from themselves.

Dang it, I was in a good mood, not anymore.
