Fortunately for Beatty’s plans – or maybe not – Maddow did offer Huelskamp a backhanded invitation to continue the conversation another time.“I’ve found you spectacularly disingenuous in explaining your own words tonight, but I hope you’d come on my show and we can have this conversation one-on-one sometime soon,” Maddow said.
During and just after the speech, Huelskamp maintained a running stream of invective on Twitter, accusing Obama of an “imperial presidency” and saying his speech “reads like dictates from a King.”
One of those tweets: “Was there a diplomat in Benghazi that gave his life for his country Mr. President?” – a reference to U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, killed there in a terrorist attack in 2012.
Later on the air, when Maddow confronted Huelskamp on that tweet, he said: “If you would stop being a cheerleader and be a journalist, you’d recognize we’re not getting those answers.”
Retorted Maddow: “Did you just call me a cheerleader?”
Huelskamp chuckled: “I don’t know, maybe you have that history. I’m saying look at the facts of the (Benghazi) matter.
“No, wait wait wait, no, hold on, hold on. Wait, hold on!”
“I’m saying you’re a cheerleader for the administration.”
“So I’m a cheerleader?”
“... If it was Bush you’d be jumping and screaming …”
“You’re amazing” (laughing).
“... but because it’s Hillary Clinton you don’t want the answers Rachel, face the fact.”

I think its great! Huelskamp did what I think needs to be done today...If an outlet like MSNBC is going to dishonestly discuss things, and twist words on semantics, then maybe more people should call them out on the spot like the congressman did...Maddow IS a cheerleader for the administration, just like that entire network, and it was good to see it said....

Republicans don't want the truth about Benghazi. They want their fantasy scenario.

Hey, MSNBC learned from the best.

It is good to see any GOP Congressman-idiot speaking again, even though the unofficial gag order is still in effect.
I'm sure Huelskamp can tell us again how Mr. Obama was playing politics by using Obama's chosen soldier at the end, not Huelskamp's.
Huelskamp figures this will help him win Coburn's seat by talking mean over an admitted Lesbian anchor.

Please tell me what Maddow said that was specifically dishonest.
We know your network lies for a living .

Maddow: "...are you saying that the ambassador didn't die for his country?"

What a stupidly dishonest question. The only time MSNBC, or even their parent NBC News has a gop member on is to come at them dishonestly.

Do you believe the ambassador was involved with the CIA and spying?

As for GOP guests, I especially like Michael Steele and he more than holds his own.
There are a couple of other GOP gentlemen they have on that are good.
As with other networks, my main irritation with MSNBC is when they won't STFU and stop interrupting their guests .

Do I? I believe that he was there to facilitate a deal with the Turks to back door arms to Syria, and to work to retrieve shoulder fired missiles from rebels they supplied.

Ofcourse you do, Steele was the Lt. Gov of a deep blue state, which means that his views are glaringly bland, and non controversial. I think the feeling today among conservatives anyway is that the nice gloves should be off....Liberals are so vitriolic, and nasty that we are tired of the 'go along to get along' ideal that allows the libs to constantly beat up on them, and control a false narrative.

There are a couple of other GOP gentlemen they have on that are good.

Probably all milquetoast no doubt. Repubs have traditionally tried to hold themselves out there as above the sort of childish, smirking chimp kind of antics that the demo's, and liberals think make their point. I think that repubs need to toughen up, and hit back. Don't allow libs to get away with disingenuous, narrative statement questions, and call out journalist posers like what they have on MSNBC.

As with other networks, my main irritation with MSNBC is when they won't STFU and stop interrupting their guests .

The easy answer to this is, it's in their nature, they can't help it. And that goes for many of the 'entertainment talk' on news. But with that said, MSNBC does do more of it, probably due to Media Matters and other progressive groups in managements ear telling them how they should attack. It's like, have you ever been at a party where a conservative, and a liberal are discussing politics, and seemingly out of nowhere the voices raise pretty quick, and usually in my experience it is the liberal trying to cut off, and not allow to speak the conservative whom is putting forth a point not liked by the liberal. Face it....Liberals don't want to hear anything but that which they agree with...All this blather about 'open mind, and tolerant' is pure bull....In my experience liberals are some of the most angry, intolerant people I have ever met.

Republicans don't want the truth about Benghazi. They want their fantasy scenario.

Not true, an honest truth would be acceptable, but as long as liberals try and hide certain things that are clearly mistakes by them, it won't go away....Remember, it isn't the event, but the cover up.

But I know...To you, 'What difference does it make?' Right?

Is Maddow really going to argue that she is NOT a cheerleader for this administration? She knows she is just as everyone on that network is Why pretend otherwise?

I believe that is why her only response to that was a stunned, breathless "you're amazing"..... She had no come back at all....

Maddow was shocked she was called a cheerleader for the Obama administration? Irony has never been so blatant.

If she wore a monocle it would have popped out.

I suppose O'Reiley should have just asked one question to the King, and let him run the clock right?

What the hell does this even mean?

What the hell does this even mean?

It means your guy is a blow hard that would love nothing better than to give a 30 minute answer to the question 'what's the weather like outside right now?'

He obfuscates by giving word salad answers to simple questions.

Who is the press will challenge him on the word salad? No one... that's why he does it and gets away with it.

Dumbest woman on TV, and that's including honey boo boo.

The politician is being inflammatory and the 24-hr "news" talking head is grateful because it's great for business.

After getting slapped around like that, I don't think Maddow is going to invite Rep. Tim Huelskamp back.
