Gov. Cuomo: Pro-life people not welcome in New York

It would be nice if the left stream media would present his words to the world, but I scanned NBC and CNN for it today and the story and his quotes aren't there. FOX seems to be the only one willing to present his word...but it is his statement not FOXs, but I realize you were trying to deflect the point of the discussion because of political leanings.
It doesn't have to do with political leanings, I've never even heard of this guy before this thread. I'm criticizing the source because, y'know, it's Fox.

I recognize that. And while your leaning is the same as the intolerant dictator of NY the lame stream media won't present the nation his words? FOX is thus your only source for his words, but do you address his words or just divert the issue to who presented them? This is the point where you chose debating or being a partisan hack.

Works for me! Pro-life people wish to FORCE their agenda on others.

Pro-choice people wish to allow Americans their free will and personal liberty.

Well if you literally believe abortion is murder and you don't demand it be outlawed then I would say there's something wrong with you. if you believe something is murder and do nothing, what does that say about you as a person? that you're lazy and too apathetic to care?

I personally oppose abortion as a concept, but as a realist I don't believe making it illegal will solve any problems, so my viewpoint is to discourage them as public policy.... but allow clinics to perform the service.

of course, I also believe in having properly funded social services to assist in raising children, but that's another thing.

That's funny coming from you because this is a duplicate thread of one YOU started yesterday where you cited a non-Fox based source in your OP.

Of course unlike the Fox news link, your source actually linked to the real interview where this was all said. Another and even more accurate citing of the origin of the comments. I mean your source... "The Blaze" is nutjob Glenn Beck's fruitcake website but even he sourced his story... unlike Fox.

I guess the question is, why are you running from your own sources by claiming that only Fox has the words?

If it's not on BBC, Al Jazeera, or Slashdot, then it's very likely that I won't read about it. Sorry.

Not a very good philosophy, no one will be free of any bias.

It's not really bias that I'm worried about, it's credibility that worries me (Which may correlate with bias). Oh, and the website layout is important too. I'd read on NPR more often if it wasn't for the super white layout. That's a no go for me.

I hate doing this...but could you please, PLEASE provide a better source than Fox news, please?

what source would you find acceptable? Huffington? LMAO!, the NYT? LOL, MSNBC? c'mon man

I don't use any of those. I especially dislike NYT and MSNBC. NYT's recent report on the Benghazi incident was just full of lies and MSNBC has Rachel Maddow and I strongly dislike her.

If Rick Perry said Progressives don't belong in Texas I'm sure the apologists in this thread would change their tune.

meh... I'd believe him. Of course that isn't the context of what Cuomo said but I guess that doesn't matter in this poutrage of a thread.

That's crap and you know it.

That's exactly the context he said it in. he said that if you don't believe in same sex marriage, abortion rights, or if you support civil rights (gun ownership is a civil right) that "you have no place in the state of new york" the context is clear that he believes that. you can't seriously think otherwise.....

As was pointed out in the other thread about his, he wasn't talking about people in the general public. He was talking about politicians in the legislature because such politicians would not represent the republican public of New York.

Pro-life? You must be an anti-women, pro-rapist mysoginist.

Anti-SSM/pro-traditional marriage? You must be a closed minded, hate-filled bigot.

Pro-2nd amendment? You must be a war mongering redneck that glorifies violence.

Now, let's stand on a progressive mantra of love and tolerance and embrace diversity (unless of course you don't agree with what we want, and we will hate you and judge you for being different. Also, you are not welcome here).

/hypocrite.

So basically, he's saying he thinks anyone who gives a **** about human rights should get the **** out of New York.

Oh come on! Tell us what context is it when the progressive Governor says that "extreme conservatives” who are “right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, [or] anti-gay” “have no place in the state of New York.” Do tell us how that is ok? In any context.

Which is ridiculously stupid since they were elected into office somehow, and if not by the republican public then by who. My apologies to the seemingly omnipotent governor, but I don't believe he is the dictator of what republicans in his state think...especially when it's contrary to who they vote for. Know who belongs in his states legislature....people his state elects. If he doesn't like it he can go cry in a little corner about it. The majority of this country don't share the view points of Nancy Pelosi or Diane Feinstein, but that doesn't mean they don't belong in their seats because the people they directly represent DO support them. Similarly, even if a majority of New Yorkers don't agree with some state reps, as long as their districts do then they absolutely belong and have a place. Simply because it makes the asshole moronic governor angry doesn't mean they don't have a place, despite his self inflated ego.

New York does not permit the abrogation of fundamental liberties in order to satisfy some people's religious leanings. Feel free to never obtain an abortion yourself and not to work as an abortion provider. But that is all that liberty entitles you to. You don't get to restrict other people's actions to conform to your religion.

But, obviously, New York's governer is more than happy to abrogate civil liberties in order to satisfy a political agenda.

Isn't it discriminatory to tell certain people they are not welcome? I'm astonished that a Democrat Governor would make such a foolish remark! Not surprised, though! :2mad:

Greetings, apdst. :2wave:

I never ran from the source, I merely pointed out it was not important and a nice diversion from you and the other liberals eager to defend your chosen leader. The source is the mans lips, his words, not FOX, not the Blaze but certainly not left stream media that ignores it.

I pretty much agree with you. I was just trying to fill in the real context instead of the fauxoutrage narrative brought by the op and its source.

Differently than I feel about people trying to FORCE women to remain pregnant.
You just admitted that you want to force your agenda on others, which you just said was wrong. According to you, you're wrong.
