Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bush

Re: Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bus

Don't know, don't care. It doesn't change whether or not he's an addict. Do you think an addict can get elected? Would you vote for an addict if he were a Democrat?

I believe the term would be recovered addict, but do I think an addict can get elected? Obama is in office right now, in his second term, and he used drugs. As for me voting for a demo addict, I wouldn't vote for a demo, so.....

Re: Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bus

I forgive him, but he's still an addict. If his treatment was worth anything at all, he'd tell you that himself. It's not about forgiving or not forgiving, it's just a fact.

JFK? Though I don't remember that hitting the news when he was running.

Re: Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bus

That was a sarcastic remark. I thought your position was that it was Obama's fault. Guess my sarcasm failed.

Since sarcasm relies on facial expression, as well as tone and inflection of voice, I'd say so.

I think the list in the OP shows that how/where the donations go plays a big part in perception, so yes, I would agree with this.

Although Gates may have made the list in part due to donations, the rest didn't, so I think donations has little to do with it.

I do have a dislike for certain donations. Should I consider the millions of dollars that the Koch brothers have donated to political causes as the same as the billions that Bill Gates has donated to third world countries to improve their living conditions? That list of most admired people having Bill Gates at the top shows me that his work and efforts are being recognized world wide. I don't care where a persons political leanings are, I just care about how/if they are helping make the world a better place. You don't have to have any money to make a difference, but if you have billions and the ability to make great changes and you choose not to? Damn right I have a problem with that.

So you don't like the Koch Bros. donations, and I don't like Soros....Shocking. Beyond that, what people do with their money, is their business. I think the difference between you and I in this, is that you think that people have some obligation to donate to charities you deem worthy for you to like them, I prefer to look at more than that.

Sorry, I edited that comment out from under you.

I think Gates made that list based on his work with other countries for the betterment of their people. I never stated that I like Soros.

And the it's not the charities that I disagree with, it's the idea behind the charity.

Re: Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bus

This is exactly what I was thinking of. Don't you find it a bit dishonest to be so worried about Obama in HS, but not Limbaugh a few years ago.

It only matters D or R to you.

The proper terminology is that you are "in recovery" but never "recovered." There is no such thing as a "recovered addict." At least you know what matters to you - D or R. D's doing drugs = bad, R's = Okey-dokey.

Beyond which, my point is that it would make an easy target for Clinton. But she's not running against Rush anyway, so it doesn't matter. IF he were the candidate, his mouth is a bigger problem than drugs.

It isn't about the R and D, it's about the President and the Private citizen. I wouldn't want Rush Limbaugh running the country either, and was dubious about Bush's history with substance abuse.

The lack of self control evident in substance abuse becomes a serious problem when they are handed that much power to wield.

I agree that it becomes a problem when they have power, but I suspect we're reaching a point where it doesn't matter if they ever used drugs. More which drugs and how long ago.

Wow, way to tell me what I think...Careful with that, it may surprise you.

Rush is as much entertainer as he is political blow hard. You just can't stand him because he attacks pols, and people that you are like minded with. But, would you say that Limbaugh's mouth is as big a problem, as say a Malloy's?

I barely even know who Malloy is, but probably.

Ok, then we are even....I don't listen to Limbaugh btw, I'm more an XM Radio guy.

Re: Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bus

Yes, least respected among a list of 10 people. All she has to do is be more respected than whoever else runs. None of whom are on that list.

I'm sure Hillary would welcome the chance to run against a drug addicted loudmouth.

I think you make a good point as far as the election is concerned in 2016. So I went inside a PPP poll and found the favorability ratings just among independent voters. I am assuming most Republicans would favor any Republican candidate and any Democrat would favor any Democratic Candidate.

These numbers are just for independents and independents only, no Republicans or Democrats. I didn’t bother with the didn’t know/unsure column.
Name Favorable unfavorable
Biden…….29………………57
Jeb Bush..26………………38
Christie….46………………28* These numbers taken before bridgegate
Clinton…..34……………..55
Cruz………..29…………….38
Huckabee..39…………….30
Paul…………40…………….33
Warren…….19……………32

For me among independents, the biggest surprise is the positive numbers for Rand Paul.

How independents would vote in election match ups
Christie 49 Clinton 26* Again this is prior to bridgegate
Jeb Bush 42 Clinton 36
Cruz 43 Clinton 40
Huckabee 43 Clinton 39
Paul 47 Clinton 37

The above numbers are for independent voters only and gives you a chance to see how someone favorable/unfavorable ratings correspond to how they would vote if the election were today.

Also one must keep in mind that in party affiliation Democrats hold a 30% to 24% lead, so even with these numbers for independents Clinton wins each matchup when all voters or total voters are taken into consideration. The only exception to this was with Christie who won 45-42 among all voters, but again this was before bridgegate.

Don't count your panties before they've hatched.

Don't burn them at both ends, either.

From your PPP poll, I would also call the favorable ratings for Huckabee a surprise.
And how high the ratings were for Christie, even before BridgeGate.
From the OP, I was surprised that Obama was so highly favorable in the USA and the World.

Well, I wouldn't expect any of the to readily admit to current drug use unless their last name is Ford.

It was an most admired list and any president always ranks up near the top, not necessarily a favorable/unfavorable rating type thing. It is not even a job approval/nonapproval. Although the president has had a very slow upswing from his 3 Dec low of 39-56 to today's 42-53.

Remember getting close to the election and independents were give President Obama an job approval number of 45% but I think it was 56% liked him as a person. I think there is a lot of this in the most admired columns for him. I really haven't seen any favorable ratings for Obama recently outside of job approval, but that is probably because he can't run anymore.

I sort of fall into this group, I think Obama is probably a below average president, at least concerning the ones I experienced. But I like him as a person. I wouldn't mind having a beer with him, but Clinton is the president whom I would most want to share a beer with among those I have known. Clinton could tell me of his escapades on the astro turf of his El Camino and I could let him know what Bangkok was like.

I wasn't that surprised about Huckabee, he was a popular governor of Arkansas, ran for the Republican nomination back in 2008 and dropped out fairly early. Since then he has had his show on Fox, I never seen it outside of a minute here and a minute there while switching channels. He does come across as very likeable, courteous, always smiling and is not the obnoxious kind. So his approval ratings are probably inflated because not many know much about him. My take.

Oh man....Aren't polls great?! Maybe we should run Limbaugh (tongue in cheek there)....:lamo
yougov is an internet based polling outfit. Hope you dont give that poll too much though, lol.

I don't, but it was rather salient if you ask me...The next Presidential election is shaping up to be a real bloody one...Dirt on both sides regardless that the press will have to concoct their dirt to even the playing field.

This poll has nothing to do with the next presidential election. It wasn't a poll asking "do you admire Hillary Clinton?" It was a poll asking "who do you admire more between these ten people?" So you had a portion of people pick the current president, the pope, one or two other people, then everyone else came in a virtual tie with next to nothing vote wise. You are already trying to relive the awful 2012 election by convincing yourself that all of the polling that says Hillary Clinton is ahead is all wrong because you found one goofy poll that told you what you wanted to hear. I think it's just sad on your part.

Re: Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bus

Wow....Obama was narrowly edged out by Bill Gates and is the second most admired person in the world. That must get your panties a little in a tizzy...I'm suspecting.

Bush beating out the Clintons will get yours in a knot.

Re: Hillary Clinton ranks last on U.S. 'most admired' list, behind Rush Limbaugh, Bus

No, no....I am serious....Your horrible photoshop job aside....Do you have proof that Limbaugh is currently still doing pain killers (the substance he went to rehab for over 10 years ago now) Because that would be news...You don't like him, I get it...Hell, I don't like Maddow, Schultz, Hartmann, or Malloy....But I don't smear them do I?

I never smear Madcow, never!!

Watch out friend....The depression after a 2016 loss is going to be unbearable if you don't face reality now.

Absolutely....but the chances of that occurring are pretty slim. GWB pretty much screwed the chance of Jeb ever getting elected. I think people are going to be reluctant to put another Bush in the whitehouse after that fiasco. Too bad though. Jeb is definitely the smarter of the two.
