Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22:118]

Re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

Ariel Sharon: Profile of an Unrepentant War Criminal
Sharon had the same racist mentality as hitler, funny how you Jews whine about hitler yet emulate his actions and share his views when it pertains to racial/nationalist issues. Do me a favor and tell your buddies to stop whining about the holocaust, using your exact train of thought hitler was a hero to the state of Germany.

Show us the gas chambers and mass graves in Israel?

Oh wait! You cant?! Well what a suprise....... not.

Ok, since you dont seem to understand the concept of genocide or a purposly answering in a cryptic way I will rephrase so you may answere directly and clear: is there an organised attempt by a totalitarian government to exterminate a people considered to be infirior by that regime?

Without turning this into a discussion on the Israeli Palestinian conflict, the words of Ariel Shoron himself should sufficiently answer your question;

"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization, or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands." -- Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, November 15, 1998.

"Everybody has to move, run and grab as many (Palestinian) hilltops as they can to enlarge the (Jewish) settlements because everything we take now will stay ours...Everything we don't grab will go to them." -- Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, November 15, 1998.

"Israel may have the right to put others on trial, but certainly no one has the right to put the Jewish people and the State of Israel on trial." -- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, 25 March, 2001

All of these statements dont change the fact that Sharon was democraticaly elected and had an opposition nore does it change that he never called for the extermination of a certain people on racist grounds.

Other than that the US, China, India, Pakistan, Cuba, Russia and others also dont extradite citizens to international courts.

Re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

"You cannot like the word, but what is happening is an occupation -- to hold 3.5 million Palestinians under occupation. I believe that is a terrible thing for Israel and for the Palestinians." --May 26, 2003 CNN

"We can also reassure our Palestinian partners that we understand the importance of territorial contiguity in the West Bank for a viable Palestinian state." --June 4, 2003 CNN

"It is not in our interest to govern you. We would like you to govern yourselves in your own country. A democratic Palestinian state with territorial contiguity in Judea and Samaria and economic viability, which would conduct normal relations of tranquility, security and peace with Israel. Abandon the path of terror and let us together stop the bloodshed. Let us move forward together towards peace." --December 20, 2003 Haaretz

"As one who fought in all of Israel's wars, and learned from personal experience that without proper force, we do not have a chance of surviving in this region, which does not show mercy towards the weak, I have also learned from experience that the sword alone cannot decide this bitter dispute in this land." --October 2004 Knesset.gov.il

"If we [are to] reach a situation of true peace, real peace, peace for generations, we will have to make painful concessions. Not in exchange for promises, but rather in exchange for peace." --April 2003 CNN

"I am for lasting peace... United, I believe, we can win the battle for peace. But it must be a different peace, one with full recognition of the rights of the Jews in their one and only land: peace with security for generations and peace with a united Jerusalem as the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people in the state of Israel forever." --November 2000 Freeman.org

"I believe that Jews and Arabs can live together. It’s not an easy thing but I believe we can reach an agreement. I don’t want to pretend about talking to Arabs because I meet Arabs, here and on our farm at home. I would like to very careful not to pretend but I think I am one of the only ones here at the present time that will have the power and the strength to tell the citizens of Israel what they have to do and to make compromises and painful compromises, to look into their eyes and say that."
November 5, 2002 Times Newspaper

"It had always been one of my convictions that Jews and Arabs could live together. Even as a child it never occurred to me that Jews might someday be living in Israel without Arabs, or separated from Arabs. On the contrary, for me it had always seemed perfectly normal for the two people to live and work side by side. That is the nature of life here and it always will be.... though Israel is a Jewish nation, it is, of course, not only a Jewish nation... I begin with the basic conviction that Jews and Arabs can live together. I have repeated that at every opportunity, not for journalists and not for popular consumption, but because I have never believed differently or thought differently, from my childhood on. I am not afraid of Arabs. I feel I can live with them. I believe I understand their problems. I know that we are both inhabitants of this land, and although the state is Jewish, that does not mean that Arabs should not be full citizens in every sense of the word."

While I can point out that Hitler was democratically elected, it’s true no explicit calls for genocide were made, but the extermination through wrongful expropriation of a people deemed inferior was indeed his words.

The thread has been warned not to turn into an Israeli/Palestinian conflict discussion, so I’ll leave it that.

A racist mentality, huh? If that were true, I'd imagine you would identify with him a lot more readily.

Re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

They kept him alive for quite a while. He has been brain dead for a long time. I wondered why they did that.

He wasn't brain dead, he was in coma, more precisely the doctors defined it as "Low awareness" he did react to his environment in small gestures

There you go ruining a perfectly good conspiracy theory.

i 'liked' that because it was a smart post
german remarked that the butcher had been democratically elected
TML responded that so had hitler, putting german's comment in check

you refer to this as a 'food fight', whining because you would prefer to see saint ariel lauded, while others of us pointed to the black side of his life, the traits and actions you would prefer not be exposed publicly. there's an easy answer to avoid getting your panties in a twist - don't read my posts

Re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

Sharon's invasion of Lebanon was done as part of a grand scheme to forever change the political landscape of the entire region. While the ultimate objective was not reached, the invasion did put an end to the majority of rocket attacks on Israel, so the invasion cannot be called a total failure. Sharon was not a man of peace, but at the time, Israel needed a warrior as Prime Minister.

Your anti Israel side is showing disgustingly clear....You started the slurs, and I point that out....I notice you don't deny that.

i am very much pro israel

one does not have to hate one while advocating the other
but from your posts, over a long span, it is obvious that reality is beyond you

I am talking about the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Sharon was Chief of the Army then, and it was his plan to invade Lebanon, after a series of rocket attacks, and shootings by Palestinian gunmen.

Re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

I am talking about the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Sharon was Chief of the Army then, and it was his plan to invade Lebanon, after a series of rocket attacks, and shootings by Palestinian gunmen.

Actually he was defence minister and lied to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet. Sharon found excuse after excuse to extend the advance further than the 40 km that was agreed on. Everything collapsed on Sharon when his Christian terrorists were allowed and with IDF help, to commit one of the worst acts of terror in human history. And ultimately his actions killed the Prime Minister since he entered a deep depression when he realized Sharon had played him...

Sharon was the Minister of Defense. "His" plan was authorized by the government which was led by Menachem Begin. The Chief of the army was Rafael Eithan (Sharon was never Chief of the Army, he was a General).
