Progressives have made it impossible to discipline children when they get out of line.

Their whole recourse is "talking things out" with little punks who throw fits and pretend they're in a cell block and need to be hard.

One of my wives friends is a teacher. And she tells us all the time stories about how she will talk to a parent about a problem the kid is having or something the kid is doing and the parent will say "my kid doesn't do that". Gotta love this no accountability system in America.

That's exactly what they say, all too often, "Oh, my child doesn't lie, and he said he didn't do it." What they're doing is teaching their child to not accept responsibility for his own actions, pure and simple.

This reminds me of a Rodney Adkins song:

It's one of those "my son wasn't a gangbanger" statements..... Granted this kid is 3-ish so there should be some leeway here - it's not the kids fault he was ****ed or manipulated.

I feel bad for the kid having to deal with that bull****.

Then what is your solution? more government and more taxpayer dollars thrown at the government by responsible people who can raise their kids???

This is without a question a cultural problem people are being told to just "tolerate" by progressives.

And of course, in the middle of a discussion about parenting, someone like Mr. Nick has to come in and make a partisan hack comment when the issue is clearly NOT a partisan one. Of course, some folks, like Mr. Nick, can only see things in illogical, overgeneralized, hackish ways.

Progressives have nothing to do with what happens in individual homes.

Nothing like hyperbole delivered with a broad brush.
 
This is simply the same sort of generational GIGO (Garbage In - Garbage Out) that is so common in our society today. I see it with my sisters-in-law and their families on a weekly basis. These "parents" never grew out of the "insolent teenager" stage and are imparting that same mentality on their kids. These kids curse, swear, have no form of discipline, etiquette or social skills. Their language and math skills are non-existant. I've got an 8 year old niece whose ONLY ambition in life is to be exactly like her mom..... pregnant at 15, a high-school dropout, and on Government aid because she isn't willing to do anything to help herself out. The worst part.... Her mom thinks this is a great idea. Until we start holding parents responsible for their kids, this will only continue.

Dr. William Cosby has made several commentaries about this sort of thing in the black community, and what is the response he gets.... called everything short of an Uncle Tom. I don't know if there's anyone in the Hispanic/Latino community speaking out about it, but I'd bet the reaction would be about the same. What a complete and utter shame.

its very disturbing, not that the child is parroting adults, but the fact that the so called adults find it amusing. Anyone who doesn't see anything wrong with this should be ashamed.
If you want your offspring to succeed in life, teach them some manners, and for heaven's sake, don't you dare blame others when their gutter mouth keeps them where they belong.
Take a good look in the mirror and know where it starts.
