Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109:573]

re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

Breitbart had some damning stuff on on Christie today.
These are the people who vote in GOP primaries and Dems may not cross-over now.
They called this bridgegate "impeachable" and there's more .

There's a whole lot more to him, and if he runs for president, you can be sure the media is going to dig for it

Gov Chunk Chunkie is a waddling time bomb for the GOP. Let's hope it goes off after he wins the nomination

I'm also enjoying FOX trying to say that Obama said "exactly" the same thing as Hillary, with no respect intended for Gate's book.
The right-wing media machine is lying about Gates' book, is overwhelmed with Christie,
embarrassed by Rubio's strike-out, and fearing Paul's and McConnell's low ratings in KY.
Christie has already affected 2014 by changing the discusasion from ACA.

As well, the economic justice thing is working, but more ***** Democratic congresspeople need to be hitting the airwaves as the GOPees do.
I like Hoyer defending BHO, along with Boxer.
Popular and safe Dems need to be speaking out every day like the GOP-ists .

I hadn't paid much attention to the brouhaha about the lane closures in New Jersey until this weekend. Now I've read the article linked in the OP... all four pages of it... and I've gotta say, wow. If Christie didn't know what his chief of staff and top aides were doing, then he's left himself open for being a figurehead not a leader, a lazy ass title who lets his underlings do everything while he goes out and makes smart cracks at press conferences. "Why does Fort Lee need three lanes devoted to its traffic?" he's reported as saying a few weeks back. Well, duh, so school buses can get get kids to class and so EMT's can get to people who are, you know, in cardiac arrest (yeah, an EMT report issued during the emergency with no political agenda pointed out that a woman had died because the EMT vehicle was stuck in traffic caused by the bridge jam).

I've always been a fan of Christie's, and was hoping to learn a lot more about him before 2016. If I liked what I learned, there was a danged good chance he'd have my vote. I'll wait to see how the reality of this ridiculous partisan idiocy pans out, but either he was clueless because he doesn't know what's going on outside his office door or he's in it up to his substantial beltbuckle. Neither scenario pleases me.

Those emails are devastating; Christie aides plotting to give "that Serbian" (the Fort Lee mayor) what he deserves", enjoying the fact that kids can't get to school, reveling in the chaos being caused, and worst of all, colluding with Port Authority officials to keep what was happening away from the "New York side" officials. Heads have rolled, more heads will roll, and potential criminal/civil action is fluttering in the wings. What an incredibly arrogant and stupid stunt to have pulled, by people who clearly believed their power was unassailable.

Disappointing. :(

So should someone forcing ACA (forced commerce) down the throats of working Americans

How is this relevant? Sounds like a one trick pony needing to expand his act.

re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

And the difference is that no one outside of the far right likes Cruz at all. The guy is about as likable as Al Gore. Rand Paul is not nearly as likable as his dad. They are not going to be able to paint Christie as some Jersey "Huey Long". Then again people liked Huey Long a lot too. Had he not been assassinated he would have gone a long way as well.

I just don't think this will amount to anything in 2 years. Christie's biggest risk is not dropping dead of a heart attack before he can run.

But what about now and next year? I'm afraid Christie is looking too "Bada Bing" for words right now. What's next? Horse heads in opponents beds? Laws may certainly have been broken and there could be a trial. It does not seem like something an underling would do on their own either.

re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

They are desperate to redirect back to ACA, aren't they?
Jobs report for Fri. looks good.
Rubio struck out.
#bridgeghazi has them spooked.
Cruz, Lee, McCain, McConnell voting against 20,000 veterans on unemployment extension, from Hoyer.
Gates will not be kind to them either.
How is this relevant? Sounds like a one trick pony needing to expand his act.

re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

Isn't the word that the "big" Democrats that Christie is "in" with are the Jersey Shore connections?
Understandable why he would bring Obama in .

Maybe the person who died because the ambulance couldn't get through was covered under Obamacare.
Other than that, there is no possible connection.

Re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

This isn't just an internal Jersey spat over a traffic jam. There are very real federal issues at play here. The GWB is an interstate bridge on an interstate highway and anything effecting interstate travel and commerce comes under federal jurisdiction.
Governor Chunk Chunky, ( thanks sangha :lamo), has, for sure, bitten off more than he can chew.
When the Feds investigate why an interstate traffic jam was generated on the nation's busiest bridge, and it is found to originate at Chunky's desk for a petty Jersey style political vendetta... can charges be very far behind?

Speaking of Emails, you would think these guys would have known there would be a trail.
I know I made some real bonehead Emails at the end of my career.

Phone calls would not have given away details.
As soon as 2014 elections are over, these Emails will be in hit ads in Iowa, etc .

Sen. Rockefeller weighed in once last year on this issue.
He would head the Senate Committee .

Re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

terrorism? Come on, surely there should be criminal penalties here, but the charge of terrorism should address more than someone being a complete jack-ass

Ambulances couldn't get people to hospitals. I wonder if anyone actually died in transit?

Re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

Gotta love it!

Liberals and socialists think an Ambassador and four security personnel being left in Benghazi to die by Hillary Clinton and President Obama is no big deal, but closing a lane on a bridge is grounds for the death penalty.

Has anyone actually studied what goes on between the ears of the average leftist?

Its not necessarily the incident that is troublesome. It is the fact that this guy won by 24 points and because someone didn't bow down to him, he decided to seek revenge. Sure a bridge closing is minor, but this is uncovering what type of president this guy would be.

You guys always complain about Obama being arrogant and "abusing his executive powers". I would think that you would be equally disgusted with Christie right?

He decided to seek revenge? Are you sure? The bridge wasn't closed either. I'm all for ripping into the guy hardcore if it's shown he had knowledge, ordered action, or even if he fostered an environment where people working for him assumed this was the type of action that he would want, but stick to the facts at least. It's possible that this is bad enough not to need hyperbolic exaggerations and assumptions.

There is no proof that he ordered this or that he even knew of it - only conjecture. What will be truly telling of him in the coming days is how he responds to and handles it. And for the record, he is not my choice for President - not even close.

Re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

You've managed to build up this picture in your head of some people under fire, a rescue mission being told to "stand down" directly by Obama. Who was probably watching it live on a viewscreen and cackling like a supervillain. (because those are the motives you've assigned. he wanted them to die because.... evil)

These positions are not supported by facts.

Sorry I'm not a liberal, and therefore not delusional.

Re: Emails link top Christie aide to GWB lane-closing controversy - [W:77,109]

Feigning an appeal to emotion over a debunked conspiracy theory in attempts to derail a thread's actual topic = epic fail.

Being liberal = lifetime of failure.

I'm no fan of Christie - if he was directly involved, I hope he gets all the grief he deserves. That's not the point I was making, however.

Not sure where you lean, but I'm am calling bulls*** on many on the right. Any conservative who defends Christie on this and hammered Obama on the so called IRS scandal is full of it plan and simple.

What was your take on the "IRS scandal"?

Nope.

When you call your oponents subhuman I will call you out for what you are.

Typical Nazi mindset.

Interesting debate strategy - misery loves company.

Cripe.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
