Five Economic Reforms Millennials Should Be Fighting For | Politics News | Rolling Stone

In Rolling Stone this former Occupy wackobird gets full coverage with his tripe. Warner Todd Hudson sums it up best in Breitbart:

"Recently Rolling Stone magazine published a story that urges the millennial generation to demand communism in America by eliminating private property, "guaranteeing" everyone a job and turning banks into state property. After finding some opposition on Twitter, the writer let loose some ideas that didn't make the cut of his article: "exterminate" the rich and take away their money and property. After reading the article published on January 3, one thing we learn from former Occupy Wall Street organizer Jesse A. Myerson is that he thinks things are bad in America today. America is so bad--or, as he so eruditely puts it, America "blows"--that he thinks it is time to institute some of the worst communist tropes in the anti-capitalist's bag of tricks, all the same boring ideas that have been proven disastrous everywhere they've been tried for over 100 years."

'Rolling Stone' Writer Wants Communism, Redistributed Wealth

All I can do is shake my head at these people....What is the matter with people today?

It is the future, and it will be incredible. We just have to shake off the old, dying, conservative disasters of the last 40 years and move forward. This will be a repeat of the New Deal and Keynesian successes.

I do think the job guarantee is something that needs to happen, along with universal healthcare.

I also find it intellectually dishonest to just label something "communism" and hope to get a visceral reaction opposing it. How about you attack the man's proposals on the merits?

What proposals? From what I read, and I did read the original article he wrote, his stance is, 'no property rights', 'money for nothing', 'government banks', and 'everyone just work for the government'.....You know what, the world has seen that, and it failed. It was called the Soviet Union.

Not likely....At least I sure hope not...You want something? Go work for it.

And the saddest thing of all? They actually believe that tripe.

Oh for sure....Just read post #2 of this thread....laughable.

All I can say is that I'm glad I won't be around when it happens. I learned how to put 2 and 2 together in first grade. It seems that many adults can't do that these days. We're working hard at trying to reduce everything to the lowest common denominator, and it seems to be working.

When I read the title I assumed things like "Student Loan Forgiveness" or free college... **** all that Commie ****. Don't tell me what to fight for, Rolling Stone, because I fight for my rights and nothing else.

Yes, we should fight for more dependence on the state, less personal responsibility and less protection of human rights. I hear that is working out well so far. Shut the **** up Rolling Stone.

And who pays for all of this?

OK. #1 - the WPA like, job guarantee conflicts with #2 - the basic living "allowance" from the nanny state. Both seem to imply that a "living wage", that is naturallly never defined, would be supplied by the gov't to all that wish to have it. One can only assume that #1 applies to those with dependents (like "welfare" but turned into "workfare"?) and that #2 applies to those that are single but may prefer to dabble in non-commercially viable pursuits. Naturally, if one can obtain the same (or better?) income from not working, as could be obtained from working most semi-skilled jobs, that would become the default option.

I'd rather live off the back of hard working patriots.

Why the wealthy ofcourse....Didn't you know those greedy bastards have all the money?

Sadly, the zero sum fallacy has been sold and bought by too many. In addition, the wealthy and successful have all been stereotyped at evil greedy Wall Street types. I don't see this mindset changing anytime soon and sooner or later, we'll start doing stupid things like the French and the exodus will begin.

When I was his age, I would have said that his ideas suck, but to use his term, "it blows."

Overall, the first one might be possible, but what if the job isn't fun or stimulating enough for little Johnny?

You mean the state? I mean, if there are no property rights, no ownership, and we are supported by Uncle Sugar Daddy, then there are no wealthy- just one big happy family. ;)

It has already been tried and it resulted in a decreased work ethic.

In his unbound stupidity he removed property rights and the wealth of the people. Hell, the little retard just gave the state control over all capital.

THat is the primary problem that so many don't seem to understand. Competition is good for productivity. Rewards for effort work to create a better economy for all involved. The sky's the limit when you know that you can be whatever you want to be, given the drive, opportunity, and skills. Being treated like an ant in a colony leads to apathy.

There are those that fail when they did everything in their power to not, and then there are those that went out of their way to fail. Not surprisingly, the later group bitches more about their failure.
