White House ignores 'lie of the year' award

You mean the one that lied us into a very costly and stupid war? I think all you're proving is that the media isn't liberally biased as so many claim but instead quite conservatively biased.

Lets don't jump to extremes. When it really matters the press tends to protect ALL presidents.

Sorry but links to unverifiable opinions are of no interest to me. It is well known and accepted that Bush et al lied us into a very long and costly war. The only reason he didn't get Liar of the Year is because most media is now conservatively biased. Period.

:lamo

I see. Well, as opposed to proving how foolish you are, a quick check would have found the link provided access to the actual reports submitted the the United Nations by the IAEA inspectors.

But hey, why would anyone want to learn the truth?

However some truth was established here.

I'm thinking it's not the kind you actually want anyone to know.

You should study the reports contained in the link below, and then get back to your sources and ask why you've been lied to all these years.

IAEA and Iraq - Global Special Weapons - Nuclear, Biological Chemical and Missile Proliferation News

Not so fast. Hans Blix, the man with the boots on the ground complained that he was forced out of Iraq even though he said he was given access to everything, including the presidential palaces, just incase Saddam hid those phantom WMD's under his bed. He went home and wrote a rather scathing indictment of the Bush/Blair administrations.

BERKELEY – Speaking on the anniversary of the United States' invasion of Iraq, originally declared as a pre-emptive strike against a madman ready to deploy weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), the man first charged with finding those weapons said that the U.S. government has "the same mind frame as the witch hunters of the past" — looking for evidence to support a foregone conclusion.

Yeah sure....

U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix faults Bush Administration for lack of "critical thinking" in Iraq

This, namely because the neocon agenda for years has been "regime change" in seven ME countries as disclosed by General Wesley Clark and many others.

Well, looky here...Could the press be waking up and starting to do its job? Or was this lie just too big to ignore?

No, this is just one you like. You like it, they're waking up. You don't like it, they're biased. It's an easy formula to see. ;)

Not so fast.

Hans Blix was being run around by Iraq, just like the previous inspectors were. After years of stalling, and multiple times when inspectors were kicked out just as they were about to close in on evidence, Hans Blix claims don't carry any weight.

Why haven't the contents of the reports I linked to be discussed in the media, as opposed to a couple of inspectors who have been proven to have had an axe to grind, and a different agenda?

I suggest you read the reports submitted to the UN, as opposed to the curious opinions of Hans Blix.

OMG, every time you don't like what a whistleblower has to say, they have an axe to grind. No. He had a job to do. The state department ordered him out on the basis that bombing would begin the next day. Even the Downing Street memo acknowledge that Iraqi intelligence was being fixed around the policy (same thing Blix said) rather than the other way around as it should have been. But, you can never reason with a die hard partisan.

A majority of 18-to-24-year-olds now say they would recall Obama as president if they could. It is finally happening; young people who overwhelmingly supported Obama are now turning away from him in droves. The hope and change he promised never materialized, instead replaced with deteriorating conditions. :)

I'm not saying it wouldn't be justified, just that there's no legality behind it. I might even vote for recalling him, but there's no Constitutional provision for that.

Oh dude, of course there's not, I was having fun with it. Didn't mean to stir anything up.

Come on shrub, he was making a funny so I responded in kind.

No big deal, you dropped one in there and I responded by dropping another one in there.

I could have posted a long spiel about the 'lie of the year' but I don't have time to waste on that partisan bull****.

Ha ha, it's all good man.

Aw, don't be spittin' sour grapes so soon in Joe....

While I consider it irresponsibly glib soft-soaping to sell the program to Americans, I dont think it was a lie.
However if it was, it would be more like the lie of the decade, ranked right up there with, "Read my lips, no more taxes."

Then were back to the point I made earlier in this thread about ineptitude, or grossly uniformed. Which is preferrable?

Politi-fact is partisan?

Politi-fact is partisan?

Everything published about Obama that comes from the right is partisan.

If you will do a little research you will discover that Politi-Fact has found a lot more GOP lies than Democratic lies.

Up to you if you are interested enough to check this out. I find all of this to be a big waste of time which accomplishes nothing.

"Better days are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time, GOP.

Of course, I expect all politicians to draw attention to their own lies.

How the mighty have fallen.

Back in '08' he is a great man that will offer real change for America and the world. He was honored with a Nobel Peace Prize (even though he was nominated after only being in office for about 6 weeks).

Now, his defenders are reduced to:

'Well, he is no worse then other politicians'.

When will people learn that one should NEVER trust ANY politician - no matter how desperately they want to?

Then were back to the point I made earlier in this thread about ineptitude, or grossly uniformed. Which is preferrable?

I didnt read the whole thread. I consider it both. And the latter definitely IMO applies to the Oval Office.

Aw, don't be spittin' sour grapes so soon in Joe....

Grapes are not sour at all. He couldn't make that promise even if there was no reform. Insurance is a moving target. People were losing their doctors before him.

But you know what I said is true. Fess up. ;)

Everything published by the left is partisan as well, let's be honest here.

No, I think he is calculated....You all tried to say that he was possibly the smartest President in history, now you want to conveniently paint him as a bumble brain? I don't think so.

:agree: Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. On the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he is doing, and he intends to continue. He is overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands, and creating a permanent majority that needs government for survival, who can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. And why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

This of course cannot continue indefinitely. Our ever-growing debt will see to that. But what happens when the countries that lend us 46 cents of every dollar we spend simply...stop? That is going to be horrifying for everyone, and I don't care where you are on the monetary scale. If someone is begging for food to feed their children, will you be able to ignore them if you could help? If so, how long could you continue to do so? Sad...

Greetings, j-mac. :2wave:

So why participate, if it is such a waste of time for you? Look, the bottom line is that politi fact is an off shoot of the St. Pete Times editorial section, and has been dinged before for being biased in favor of Obama, and now they find that Obama has the lie of the year, and your response is to immediately cry foul partisanship? GMAFB!
