I've called him a salesman since day one. And, of course, all you all whined about it while ignoring the fact that Bush was pretty much cut from the same mold. No, I think he is calculated....You all tried to say that he was possibly the smartest President in history, now you want to conveniently paint him as a bumble brain? I don't think so.
Yeah, like Ezekiel Emmanuel on Fox trying to spin that it wasn't a lie because you could "keep your doctor, if you want to pay more"..... LOL! What? Are you kidding? Pay more? Liar n chief Obama also said that this law would save people $2500 per year! Did they forget that too?
Is a car salesman lying when he promises you that the dealer will provide you a lifetime of free oil changes but the dealership closes down three months later?
Even if rumors swirled that the place was going broke, the salesman can always say he's not an accountant, and thus had no idea the place was going out of business. Same thing here. Obama simply didn't pay attention to detail and spewed out promises like he always does.
You guys always called him an empty suit. Now, all of a sudden he's a detail-oriented policy wonk. GMAFB. Obama spews BS like a car salesman. He's been doing it since 2008. You know, "Hope and Change".What? So now he's on par with used car salesmen? Lol, this just keeps getting better...I don't buy for a second that he simply didn't know he was lying. That's laughable.
Of course the White House is going to ignore this dubious award. If they give it any attention, they just draw the public's eyes to it far more than if they ignored it.
It's be interesting to see Carney's reaction if one of the White House Press Corps brought this up as a question to him. Probably swift and violent retribution of some sort, but that's just my guess.
Why the majority of the media is ignoring this? Depends on which media I guess. The Biased Lame Stream Media won't report on this because they are actively complicit in protecting this President from any bad press exposure. This includes which stories they report on and which they don't as well as which stories are highlighted, front page above the fold, and which are relegated to the back pages and essentially covered but buried.
Other news outlets have spent a fair amount of reporting on the obvious presidential lies that my guess is they are now starting to be de-emphasized their coverage of it.
Journalists repeatedly asked Carney questions about how the Obamacare exchanges website was being fixed. By the end of the briefing, Carney had referred questions to HHS at least 10 separate times, according to a transcript.
Toward the end of the briefing, a reporter asked Carney whether HHS would actually answer the questions reporters were seeking answers to. Reporters have been frustrated by the lack of specific and timely responses from HHS.
Carney responded by again referring questions to HHS.

Which the USA doesn't have.
gawd almighty, are we to the point where ineptitude trumps lying?? I don't disagree with you, it's just so pathetic. If it was Hillary and Bill, I'd agree they lied. But, Obama isn't detail oriented enough to know what the fine print in what the hell he said really meant. You doubt this?

As others have pointed out, there were really three big lies that were used to sell Obamacare:
1) "If you like your plan you can keep your plan" - Lie. Made worse by the slimey attempt at blaming those who liked their plans by telling them the plans they liked were junk.
2) "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" - Also a lie. This claim was made even while all the polls were showing that doctors by a large margin wouldn't be accepting ACA plans.
3) "ACA will save the average family $2500 in premiums annually" - A lie of two fronts. On the one hand no, premiums are skyrocketing, and when they aren't the out of pocket is skyrocketing. ACA doesn't save the average family any money. It costs them more.
But, also as has been pointed out already, he couldn't sell ACA on the truth that it would cost more, you could lose your doctor and those with insurance stand a serious risk of losing it.
Heya JM. :2wave: Plus the one I showed about not adding one dime to the deficit.
True. But I don't think that one was essential to selling Obamacare. Americans have a rather fatalistic view of deficits at this point. The real hard sell were the three that were meant to make it sound worth the effort.

It's just going to go over their heads calamity. If your not raving at Obama with frothing at the mouth hysterics then you're not properly criticizing Obama. Nuance and reason? They don't know the meaning of the words. You guys always called him an empty suit. Now, all of a sudden he's a detail-oriented policy wonk. GMAFB. Obama spews BS like a car salesman. Hope and Change does not put Tim Geithner in charge of Treasury and Monsanto Whore Tom Vilsack in Agriculture. Why do you think the Liberals are constantly steamed at him? OWS was as much protesting Obama as it was the 1%.
Didn't seem to notice this during the Bush administration.
I did. Just like FOX News ran with all the nutty birther stuff on Obama, CBS ran with a fake story, with a fake document, on Bush being AWOL. Dan Rather was fired for it.
1. The plans being cancelled were junk. They provided inadequate coverage and often also included unlimited out of pocket expenses and other slimy insurance company loopholes, often to deny coverage. As others have pointed out, there were really three big lies that were used to sell Obamacare:
1) "If you like your plan you can keep your plan" - Lie. Made worse by the slimey attempt at blaming those who liked their plans by telling them the plans they liked were junk.

3) "ACA will save the average family $2500 in premiums annually" - A double lie. On the one hand no, premiums are skyrocketing (lie 1), and when they aren't going up the out of pocket is skyrocketing (a lie of omission). ACA doesn't save the average family any money. It costs them more.
But, also as has been pointed out already, he couldn't sell ACA on the truth that it would cost more, you could lose your doctor and those with insurance stand a serious risk of losing it.
Facts are those pesky things which interfere with RW manufactured outrage....here's what conservatives won't tell you, lest it undermine their theatrics: Many insurance plans are shutting down because they don't meet the higher bar of quality benefits required under Obamacare, and of those people who lose access to their plans, many will pay less and all will have better and more comprehensive options.
Also, with a few exceptions, no one is really noting that this point isn't quite news. In 2010, the fact that certain insurance plans would not be grandfathered into Obamacare because of their inadequate coverage was widely covered by the press...
The Affordable Care Act prevents some of the worst abuses of the private insurance market and makes coverage overall more inclusive and affordable. It doesn't fundamentally alter the private market equation -- and incentives to cut corners and care.
...while health insurance costs have continued to rise, they haven’t increased any faster than they had been before President Obama took office. In fact, once you start digging into the numbers — and if you can actually add and subtract and divide with any sort of skill at all — you begin to see that, despite the fact that the Affordable Care Act is just getting started, the rate of health insurance cost increases has actually dropped since 2009 when Barack Obama was sworn in as president.
How many people have been fired over at Fox News?

It takes a recall election.
Unfortunately the Media tends to do this for all presidents.
